UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1976 CHEVY IMPALA 2 DOOR. THIS CAR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE FOR ITS AGE AND BEING A ILLINOIS CAR. THE BODY HAS A COUPLE HALF DOLLAR RUST SPOTS BEHIND TIRES. THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS A DENT, THE FRONT BUMPER HAS SURFACE RUST, THE FRONT DRIVERS FENDER COWL IS CRACKED. THERE IS A RUST HOLE IN PASSENGER REAR FLOOR BOARD AROUND 4X4 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE PAINT HAS CHIPS. THE VINYL TOP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WEATHER CRACKING. THE INTERIOR HAS WEAR: THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT IS SPLIT AND THE TOP OF THE REAR SEAT HAS WEAR. THE GLOVE BOX LOCK IS MISSING. THE CARPET NEEDS REPLACED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE HAS A 350 ENGINE AND AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT RUNS AND SHIFTS GOOD. I DID NOTICE THAT THE TRANSMISSION PAN LEAKS A LITTLE BIT OF FLUID UNTIL IT GETS WARM. THE ENGINE HAS AN EXHAUST LEAK AS WELL AND I BELIEVE IT IS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BECAUSE IT LOOKS RUSTED OUT. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THE HOUSE AND THAT IS ABOUT IT. THE ODOMETER SHOWS 83337 MILES AND IM SURE THAT IS THE ACTUAL MILEAGE BECAUSE I TRIED BUYING THIS CAR 10 YEARS AGO FROM AN OLD MAN AND HE PASSED AWAY AND GAVE IT TO HIS GRANDSON. AFTER THAT HE PAINTED THE GREEN "FLAMES" ON THE FRONT END. THE VEHICLE HAS AMERICAN RACING WHEELS AND LIKE NEW TIRES. WITH A LITTLE TIME AND PATIENTS THIS CAR WOULD BE EXTREMELY NICE. THE ORIGINAL COLOR IS THE BLUE LIKE IS SHOWN ON THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK BEFORE BIDDING ON THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTY AND I ASK IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 50 FEED BACKS TO CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING. IF YOU CANT READ EMAIL ME YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND I WILL CALL YOU. I HAVE BEEN BURNT TOO MANY TIMES AND UNFORTUNATELY 1 PERSON HAS RUINED IT FOR ALL OTHERS. I DO HAVE A CLEAR TITLE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND ONCE AGAIN IT IS BEING SOLD AS IS, SO IF YOU CHOOSE TO DRIVE IT HOME, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COMPLICATIONS THAT MAY ARISE. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME FOR THE VEHICLE IS LISTED FOR SALE LOCALLY AS WELL. THANKS AND HAPPY BIDDING! NICK!

Watch this week's Top Gear America used-car challenge
Sat, Sep 9 2017Top Gear America is back for the penultimate episode of the first season. Used car challenges were some of the highlights of the original UK edition. In our exclusive clip, Tom Ford, Antron Brown and William Fichtner run their $7,000 sports cars in a drag race. As expected, the trio chose very different cars for the challenge. Watch the video to see if a Subaru WRX's all-wheel drive can overcome a power deficit to beat a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Corvette. Brown and Fichtner also spend some time relaxing with an old Jeep Wagoneer. Like them, we're really hoping Jeep will bring back the Wagoneer nameplate. Brown also drives a Maserati Levante, proving that not all family cars need be boring. This week's guest star is actor, rapper and former host of Pimp My Ride, Xzibit. Top Gear America airs Sundays at 8 p.m. Eastern on BBC America. Related Video: Celebrities TV/Movies Chevrolet Ford Subaru Top Gear exclusive top gear america
Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Chevy Bolt EV might not come to UK
Tue, Sep 22 2015Anyone expecting the upcoming James Bond movie to feature scenes with the suave namesake cruising around London in a Chevrolet Bolt (yes, there are some of us around) will likely be disappointed. That's because it is apparently doubtful that the General Motors flagship division will make right-hand-drive versions of the electric vehicle for the UK. So we'll have to suffice with the dashing spy ripping around town in Aston Martins and the like. The UK's Autocar reported from the Frankfurt Auto Show and quoted a Chevrolet spokeswoman saying the Bolt with be "a global vehicle," though she wasn't more specific, or specific enough for the British. Indeed, GM is prepping to sell the Bolt in the US and will also distribute the EV in Europe with an Opel nameplate. This is how it worked with the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in (known as Opel Ampera across the Pond). That said, the fine citizens of the UK will be left out of the opportunity to buy the electric vehicle, which may make a pretty big splash thanks to a single-charge range of about 200 miles, or more than double anything that's not a Tesla Model S. The Bolt will sell in the US for $37,500 before government incentives kick in. It was announced this past February that the Bolt will go into production at GM's Orion plant near Detroit at some point. For a time, GM thought of changing the name because of potential confusion with the Chevy Volt, but GM confirmed this past spring that the name will stick. The car is expected to go on sale in 2017.
