Up for sale today is an all original ONE OWNER rust free NUMBERS MATCHING 1967 Chevy Impala 396 BIG BLOCK with 98k original miles. This car is a one owner all original car with the black CA plates and was built here at the Los Angeles plant with the L in the vin #, the interior is all factory original and is in excellent condition, no rips no tears no nothing. All original from the carpet to the headliner. Car still has the factory original Blue paint on it, never been repainted so its all metal, paint has typical chips and scratches and some 50 year old patina on it, the hood has some checkering going on in the paint. New tires on this car also. Undercarriage and trunk are in excellent shape too no rust. Car still has the original Numbers Matching 396 Big Block engine that runs like a dream, super smooth, fires right up even when the car has sat for several days and runs real quiet, no shaking, no smoke, no exhast leaks. Just an excellent running car also has power steering also. All lights and guages work on the car as well. Hard to find them like this anymore untouched and original. This 67 also has a rare option with the rear window defrosters. Car has the all the original paperwork with it including the protect o plate and original manuals. Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?

The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose! MotorWeek's Retro Reviews are always a great glimpse into the cars of yesteryear. However, the newly uploaded look back at the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette is an absolute treasure trove for any auto history buff. This is a full episode of the show from the '80s, and it's dedicated to all of the details about the newest 'Vette to hit the market at the time. Beyond just the usual drive and an in-depth walk around, one of the major highlights here is a brief look at some on the concepts that eventually resulted in the fourth-generation Corvette of 1984. The C4's shape harkens back to sketches from 1978, and there even shots of early clay models that led the way for the design. MotorWeek also takes a tour through the Bowling Green, KY, factory for a detailed inspection of the entire production process. John Davis repeatedly calls the Corvette "the plastic fantastic" during the episode, and he can't find too much negative to say about being behind the wheel of the then-new coupe.
