1965 CHEVROLET IMPALA CONVERTIBLE

327 4 SPEED FRESH ENGINE READY TO CRUISE

HELLO YOUR LOOKING AT A BEAUTIFUL 1965 IMPALA CONVERTIBLE WITH A FRESH 327 MOTOR READY FOR SHOWS OR A FUN NIGHT OUT WITH THE TOP DOWN AND A CRUISE. THIS CAR WAS RESTORED IN 1996 AND HAS SEEN ONLY 25 MILES SINCE THAT TIME. KEPT INSIDE AT A SECURE HEATED FACILITY AND ALWAYS MAINTAINED TO KEEP FRESH WITH OTHER CLASSIC CARS IN A COLLECTION. THE RESTORATION WAS VERY EXTENSIVE WITH A COMPLETE BODY STRIP AND DISASSEMBLY OF THE INTERIOR AND MAIN COMPONENTS. BODY SOUND BACKING WAS USED ON MAIN FLOORS AND BODY SIDEWALLS, FOR A QUIET SOLID FEEL WHILE THE BODY WAS APART. THE CAR AFTER ALL THESE YEARS STILL HAS THE APEAL OF A VERY WELL DONE RESTORATION APPEARANCE. THE RED PAINT IS VERY NICE AND THE JAMS AND ALL SEAMS ARE CLEAN AND DONE RIGHT. THE CAR IS A ROCK SOLID IMPALA FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. VERY STRAIGHT LINES AND NO MAJOR DAMAGE OR BONDO FOUND. THE BODY AND PAINT ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT TO BE ACCURTE, IT HAS A FEW TINY DINGS AND A FEW SCRATCHES AFTER ALMOST 20 YEARS IN & OUT OF STORAGE. THIS IMPALA HAS A GREAT CRISP & CLEAN CUSTOM INTERIOR WITH THE ORIGINAL LINES AND DESIGN PATTERNS, BUT DONE IN DURABLE NEWER MATERIALS AND COLOR ACCENTS FOR COMFORT & SHOW. THE SEATS HAVE GREAT SUPPORT AND ARE VERY TIGHT AND STRAIGHT, WITH NO RIPS, STAINS, OR WEAR SHOWING. NEW POWER CONVERTIBLE TOP WORKS GREAT, TOP IS TIGHT AND NEW AND IS ALSO DONE RIGHT. HAS A GLASS BACK WINDOW. ALL LIGHTS AND SIGNALS WORK AND HAS A NEWER AM/FM/CASSET STEREO INSTALLED. WIPERS WORK GOOD ALSO. UNDER THE HOOD IT IS CLEAN TIGHT AND DONE RIGHT. A FRESH REBUILT 327 VETTE MOTOR HAS BEEN INSTALLED WITH A NICE 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION ON THE FLOOR. THIS IS A DOUBLE HUMP HEADS 327! RUBBERS AND FUZZIES ARE ALL NEW AND TIGHT WINDOWS, DOORS, TRUNK, HOOD, ALL FIT AND SHUT GREAT. TRUNK IS CLEAN AND IN BLACK SEALER AS FROM FACTORY, HAS NO TRUNK FLOOR MAT, OR SPARE TIRE, OR ORIGINAL JACK. CAR LOOKS AND DRIVES GREAT AND IS READY TO GO. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A VERY NICE DRIVER SHOW TYPE IMPALA THIS IS AS GREAT BUY. THESE '65's ARE MOVING UP IN THE MARKET, AS MOST ALL CHEVROLET CONVERTIBLES ARE STRONG INVESTMENTS.

GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark

Thu, Dec 27 2018

The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:

MotorWeek Retro Review revisits 1984 Corvette

Thu, Oct 1 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Reviews are always a great glimpse into the cars of yesteryear. However, the newly uploaded look back at the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette is an absolute treasure trove for any auto history buff. This is a full episode of the show from the '80s, and it's dedicated to all of the details about the newest 'Vette to hit the market at the time. Beyond just the usual drive and an in-depth walk around, one of the major highlights here is a brief look at some on the concepts that eventually resulted in the fourth-generation Corvette of 1984. The C4's shape harkens back to sketches from 1978, and there even shots of early clay models that led the way for the design. MotorWeek also takes a tour through the Bowling Green, KY, factory for a detailed inspection of the entire production process. John Davis repeatedly calls the Corvette "the plastic fantastic" during the episode, and he can't find too much negative to say about being behind the wheel of the then-new coupe. See how it stands up to your own memories in the clip above.

The Corvette Museum sinkhole has been filled

Wed, Feb 11 2015

After swallowing eight of the most prized pieces of the collection from the National Corvette Museum, the massive sinkhole from a year ago is rapidly becoming nothing but a bad memory. Based on the museum's weekly construction update, you can barely see the remnants of the 25-foot deep hole once in the floor. The Corvette Museum's Skydome was not always going to look like this. The original hope was to keep the sinkhole there as a tourist attraction. That plan eventually fell through, though, and instead it was decided five of the less-damaged Corvettes would remain unrestored. Progress has been moving fast to get the repairs done. Even a month ago, the hole was still very visible, and the construction company used remote-controlled Bobcat loaders to fill it in. Now, the museum has launched a contest to guess how many tons of stone it took to fill in the massive crater. The winner gets a print of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil being lifted out.
