RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BIDDER, SO EVERYONE GETS ANOTHER CHANCE BEFORE LOCAL AUCTION DATE, WHICH IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING. It will only be listed on ebay until that date. There was 135 watchers last time and I keep getting emails if I still have it, so I decided to go ahead and give everyone that is seriously interested a chance to own it before it goes in estate auction. Not hard to replace a quarter guys and look at what the finished ones cost! Average of 40K! This is a 59 Impala 2 door htp. It was side swiped on the drivers side in the early 70's and has been in storage since. A much more solid car, with all original GM parts, than some that have been going for 10-15K recently, just because they have a coat of primer or a set of nice wheels on them. You can see them in completed listings. Nothing is hidden here. You will need floor pans and left lower qtr sections. Do it yourself and do it right by your standards. It takes 6 bolts and about 30 minutes to change and line up a door and less than a day to cut off a qtr and get the other one lined up and tacked in place. Probably a lot less time than cutting out and redoing some of the bad body work I've seen lately(cars with the inner fender front section cut off-leaving  you nothing to fasten parking light housings to, homemade fender extensions-making it impossible to fasten the correct front Z- bracket to the bumper and front valance, doors off of a 2 dr sedan with top frame cut off, new floors, but with braces missing or no gas tank braces and on and on. Just be careful and look closely at what you are buying. If there are any other pics of my car you would like to see, let me know and I will get what is possible, but I assure you this car has never been messed with or modified in any way except for the reapint many years ago and having the wrong steering wheel on it. Also, before I forgot to mention, this car is NOT rotted out around the rear window corners or all along the fin edge. Original white 936A car with turquoise interior. Was a 6cyl/3 speed car, but has no motor or trans in it now. The interior is all there with the exception of the front door panels. There is a replacement door and upper quarter half(with door jamb and inner panel) that comes with it. It will still need lower qtr sections on drivers side. I also have gathered a complete set of drivers side trim that is nice and restorable. These pieces all come with the car, but like I said, you will need to purchase left lower qtrs. The floors and trunk floor will need replaced, as they all do, as you can see in the pics. You may also need to do some work to the left wheel tub, although it doesn't look too bad and did not even get into the window post, or it probably would have broken the rear glass. This is definitely a buildable car as hard as these are to find and the prices they bring. Not for the faint at heart, but very much repairable. The frame looks to be solid in all of the common rot areas. It may need some minor repair in the very rear corners to the gussets. The car rolls and steers easy and tires hold air for easy loading. I also have a tractor to assist. Overseas bidders are welcome, however a tractor/trailer cannot get in my private road, so in the past I have loaded the car on my trailer and met the transport at an agreed on local site. I have no problem doing this for you , as I have done for several over the years. The car is sold as-is where-is and will not leave the property until all funds have cleared my bank account. Immediate deposit required with buy now options, otherwise deposit in 24 hrs and full payment expected in 7 days with 500.00 deposit at end of auction. Buyer is responsible for all shipping cost and arrangements(allow for extra qtr panel unless you want me to cut the lower rusty section off and stick it through the rear seat opening). The car can set here for up to 30 days after auction ends. The car comes with a clear title in my name. It does say correction at the top because instead of E59"S", they printed E59"5" when I bought the car and I had to take it back in and get it corrected. So now, it is 100% clear and correct and once you title it in your name it will come back saying original like always. It is NOT a salvage title. I got a lot of questions about the steering wheel. What is on it(the 65), is what was on it when I got it years ago, however I have the correct wheel, but it will need restored and it does come with the car. Thanks for looking!

DUE TO SOME REQUEST, I HAVE ADDED PICS OF THE THE FRONT TIP OF THE INNER FENDER WHERE THE PARKING LIGHT HOUSING MOUNTS. ADDED A PIC OF WHAT THE LOWER FENDER EXTENSIONS LOOK LIKE (WHICH ARE SOLID ON BOTH SIDES). IT'S HARD TO GET A PICTURE OF THOSE WITH THE BUMPER IN PLACE, SO I USED THE OLD RED ONE FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY, BUT YES THEY ARE BOTH GOOD AND USABLE. ALSO THE REAR SEAT BRACES ARE BOTH SOLID AT THE BOTTOMS AND THE PAN UNDER THE REAR SEAT LOOKS VERY MUCH USEABLE. ALSO THE REAR WINDOW CORNERS(BOTH SOLID). THE WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED AND I WOULD PLAN ON ONLY BEING ABLE TO ACTUALLY USE THE REAR GLASS.

Thanks for everyones patience. Finally got the pics to upload, so you can tell more about the car. The fenders have some small rust and the right has some filler from years ago(rust or dent?). Headlight C-panels and lower fender extensions are all repairable/or not rusted out. Theres about 400, if you have to buy them. The blue door(setting on the wheel) goess with it. Both doors will then be very much usable. The rockers are not rotted out, but the left side has the crash damage towards the rear(by the wheel opening). As you can now see, the front and upper part of the trunk floor are there, but rusted out at the rear center around gas filler neck. The bumper laying on the car goes with it, if you want it. It has some repairable valances on it. You can see all of the front trim on the hood and all of the side trim set to replace the drivers side is laying on the trunk(with the exception of the little short piece, right behind the door opening) I DO NOT have that piece, but do see them on ebay regularly. The decklid is NOT rotted out in the common "V" area, but it does have some rust that would need work. Just keep in mind it is a midwest car and 56 years old and needs rust repair. It is just as buildable of a car as the one at Lambrecht and actually isn't as rusty in some areas. The only difference is that you will have to replace the upper qtr section and the door jamb.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
