1958 IMPALA SPORT COUPE

HELLO, SELLING MY 58 IMPALA, THIS CAR IS IN REALLY NICE SHAPE AND HAS HAD A TON OF WORK DONE TO IT RECENTLY. BRIEF HISTORY ON THE CAR AS WE KNOW IT IS,  IT STARTED LIFE DOWN IN GEORGIA AND STAYED THERE UNTIL ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT UP TO SOUTHERN INDIANA, AT THAT TIME IT WAS TREATED TO A LIGHT RESTORATION AND PAINTED THE AQUA METALLIC THAT YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES,IT WAS THEN DRIVEN HERE AND THERE TO CAR SHOWS AND SUCH, THE OWNER THEN STARTED TO GATHER PARTS TO DO A FULL BLOWN RESTO ON THE CAR. HE WAS ABLE TO HAVE  ALL THE MECHANICALS GONE THROUGH AND REBUILT BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY.. I BOUGHT THE CAR AFTER IT HAD SET FOR A BIT AND HAVE DONE ALOT OF WORK TO IT, BUT IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON TO MY 57 PLYMOUTH AND FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO ENJOY THIS IMPALA.  THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY COLONIAL CREAM WITH A 283 V8 AND A 3 SPEED MANUAL TRANS. OPTIONS INCLUDE THE V8, POWER STEERING, PUSH BUTTON RADIO, DELUXE HEATER  AND REAR SEAT SPEAKER. THE 58 HAS ONLY BEEN IN MICHIGAN FOR ABOUT A YEAR, AND A BUNCH OF PARTS WERE COLLECTED THAT WILL GO WITH THE CAR. HERE IS A LIST OF WHAT I HAVE TO GO WITH IT,

FULL SET OF RUBBER WEATHERSTRIP FOR THE WHOLE CAR
ROOF RAIL
DOORS
TRUNK
BUMPER FILLER
SPLASH PAN RUBBER, EVERTHING..
ALL THE WINDOW FLETS WISKERS
NEW FENDER CHEVRONS
NEW IN THE BOX CUSTOM AUTO SOUND AM/FM RADIO FOR 58 CHEVY
CUSTOM AUTO SOUND DUAL COIL SPEAKER
IN THE BOX COIL SPRINGS
HARRISON HEATER CORE
DOOR PANEL CARDS PRE PUNCHED FOR ALL THE TRIM
2 GREAT COMPLETE ARM RESTS
THE DOOR PANEL TRIM TO COMPLETE THE DRIVERS SIDE
ORIGINAL FENDER SKIRTS
PATCH PANELS FOR THE REAR QUARTER
PATCH PANEL FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR FLOOR
PATCH PANEL TRUNK EXTIONTIONS

PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING YOU WOULD NEED TO DO THE REST OF THE RESTO IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO, OR JUST ENJOY IT AS IT IS. HERE IS WHAT HAS BEEN DONE..

283 ENGINE TOTALLY REBUILT ALL NEW BOLTS
350 TURBO HYDRO 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANS SHIFT KIT
NEW DUAL EXHAUST WITH C BOMBS (NICE LOW RUMBLE)
NEW BRAKES.. COMPLETELY, NEW HARD AND SOFT LINES AS WELL
NEW SPRINGS AND SHOCKS
SOME NEW SUSPENSION PARTS AS WERE NEEDED
NEW FUEL TANK
NEW FUEL PUMP
NEW STARTER
ORIGINAL GENERATOR REBUILT AND PUMP
NEW HOSES AND BELTS
NEWER BATTERY
NEWER TIRES
NEW TRUNK FLOOR ALL WELDED IN
NEW HEADLINER
GLOVE BOX, REAR SEAT SPEAKER SURROUND, ASH TRAY, OUTSIDE COWL VENT, AND ALL INSIDE REVEAL MOLDINGS WERE CHROMED AT SOME POINT.

I AM SURE I FORGOT TO MENTION SOME THINGS THAT WERE DONE, BUT BOTTOM LINE, IT RUNS, STARTS, AND STOPS GREAT!

WHAT IT WILL STILL NEED... REALLY NOTHING, TO GET IN ENJOY AND HAVE FUN, IT DOSE'NT NEED ANYTHING, LIKE I SAID THE MECHANICALLS ARE DONE. UNDERNEATH REAL CLEAN AND HAS A GREAT SOUTHERN FRAME. THAT BEING SAID THE PAINT IS OLDER AND HAS SOME CHIPS AND SCRATCHES, I JUST WHEELED IT OUT AND IT'S A 10 FOOTER, GREAT FOR A DRIVER. SEATS ARE NICE AND CLEAN AND HAVE GOOD SUPPORT FOAM STILL BUT, HAVE 4 SPITS ON THE SEAMS, (PASSENGER FRONT BOTTOM SEAM,DRIVER SIDE REAR BOTTOM SEAM, REAR TOP NEAR PACKAGE TRAY BOTH SIDES) ALL COULD BE SEWN BACK,  VINYL IS STILL VERY NICE. MISSING DRIVERS DOOR PANEL, EVERYTHING YOU NEED COMES WITH THE CAR OTHER THAN THE VINYL TO COMPLETE IT. OTHER DOOR PANELS ARE VERY NICE. AS I SAID HEADLINER IS NEW.

ALL GLASS IS GREAT, WINDSHIELD, QUARTER GLASS, REAR WINDOW, AND VENT GLASS SUPER NICE, BOTH DOOR GLASS IS CRACKED THEY ARE AVAILABLE FROM LATE GREAT CHEVY FOR $64 PER SIDE.

CAR HAS MANAGED TO STAY MOSTLY RUST FREE AS THESE 50'S CARS GO, BUT IT DOES HAVE SOME RUST SHOWING IN 3 AREAS. BOTH LOWER QUARTERS AND BOTTOM FRONT OF THE PASSENGER DOOR HAS SOME BUBBLING. THERE IS 1 AREA IN THE REAR FLOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT WHERE IT IS A LITTLE SOFT, NO HOLE, BUT WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW IT'S ABOUT 2 INCHES LONG AND I HAVE INCLUDED A FLOOR PANEL IN THE SALE, DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL EVEN NEED IT, BUT IT WILL BE INCLUDED. REST OF FLOORS ARE SUPER NICE, AS WITH THE FENDERS, TRUNK LID, CORE SUPPORT, HOOD, EVERYTHING ELSE ALL LOOK GREAT.

OVERALL A GREAT SOLID 58 THAT IS READY TO ROLL AND HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION ( THEY NEED EVERYTHING OR THEY ARE DONE AND TOO MUCH MONEY...)

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST GIVE ME A CALL 734-578-5125 JEFF

THANKS AND GOOD LUCK

We really want to use an eCrate to restomod an old GM car. Here's what we'd build

Fri, Oct 30 2020

You hopefully saw the news today of GM's introduction of its Connect and Cruise eCrate motor and battery package, which effectively makes the Bolt's electric motor, battery pack and myriad other elements available to, ah, bolt into a different vehicle. It's the same concept as installing a gasoline-powered crate motor into a classic car, but with electricity and stuff.  This, of course, got us thinking about what we'd stuff the eCrate into. Before we got too ahead of ourselves, however, we discovered that the eCrate battery pack is literally the Bolt EV pack in not only capacity but size and shape. In other words, you need to have enough space in the vehicle to place and/or stuff roughly 60% of a Chevy Bolt's length. It's not a big car, but that's still an awful lot of real estate. There's a reason GM chose to simply plop the pack into the bed and cargo area of old full-size SUVs. Well that, and having a rear suspension beefy enough to handle about 1,000 pounds of batteries.  So after that buzz kill, we still wanted to peruse the GM back catalog for classics we'd love to see transformed into an electric restomod that might be able to swallow all that battery ... maybe ... possibly ... whatever, saws and blow torches exist for a reason.  1971 Buick Riviera Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: If you’re going to build an electric conversion, why not do it with style? ThatÂ’s why IÂ’m choosing a 1971-1973 Buick Riviera. You know, the one with the big glass boat-tail rear end that ends in a pointy V. Being a rather large vehicle with a big sloping fastback shape, IÂ’m hoping thereÂ’s enough room in the trunk and back seat to pack in the requisite battery pack. That would likely require cutting away some of the metal bulkhead that supports the rear seatback, but not so much that a wee bit of structural bracing couldnÂ’t shore things up. The big 455-cubic-inch Buick V8 up front will obviously have to go. Remember, this was the 1970s, so despite all that displacement, the Riviera only had around 250 horsepower (depending on the year and the trim level). So the electric motorÂ’s 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque ought to work as an acceptable replacement.   1982 Chevrolet S10 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: OK, so the name "E-10" is already taken by a completely different truck, but let's not let labels get in the way of a fun idea.

Rumor: 2016 Chevy Volt gets 53 miles EV range, 40% increase

Mon, Aug 3 2015

While we're still waiting for the official word from GM, news is creeping around the Internet that the 2016 Chevy Volt will get a big boost in all-electric range and gas-burning efficiency. According to new rumors out today, the second-gen Volt will be able to go 53 miles on a full charge, have 106 MPGe and be able to get 42 miles per gallon on the official EPA numbers. Compared to the outgoing first-gen Volt (38 miles EV range, 98 MPGe, and 37 mpg) these are all impressive increases. The all-electric range boost of almost 40 percent is the biggest surprise, though. We knew the new Volt would get better numbers than the first-gen model, but when GM debuted the car in Detroit earlier this year, it said it suspected the Volt would get a 50-mile range, 41 mpg and 102 MPGe. We'll be keeping an eye out for official confirmation of all these new numbers. Volt drivers are already making most of their driving miles electric. The number sits at about 80 percent currently, and GM has said it expects this to climb to 90 percent in the new model. GM said in May that the 2016 Volt will start at $33,995, a bit lower than the current Volt's MSRP of $34,170 before any tax breaks. So, for less money you'll be getting much better fuel economy. What's not to like about that? Preorders are already open for interested buyers in some parts of the country. 2016 Chevy Volt will start at $33,995*

Sun, May 3 2015

One of the biggest mysteries regarding the 2016 Chevy Volt has been revealed. Chevy announced today that the next-gen plug-in hybrid will have an MSRP of $33,995, which includes GM's $825 destination fee. That's a few hundred dollars less than the current Volt, which has an MSRP of $34,170. The second-gen Volt is about more than a price cut, though. The car has an increased all-electric range (50 miles vs. 38 in the current model) and better fuel economy. Once the battery power runs out – which it doesn't do, in most situations, since 90 percent of all trips are electric-only – the no-longer-premium-only gas engine offers 41 miles per gallon, up from 37 mpg. We know most buyers are price-conscious, and with the still-available federal tax incentive of up to $7,500, the new Volt can be had for $26,495. That should put a spring back into sluggish Volt sales, which are down 46 percent year-over-year so far in 2015. Through the end of April, GM has sold a cumulative 76,136 first-gen Volts since introducing the car in 2010. Chevrolet Announces 2016 Volt Pricing Next Gen delivers more technology at new price as low as $26,495 DETROIT – The Chevrolet Volt is poised to continue to bring new owners to the electric plug-in family. Pricing will be as low as $26,495 after the full federal tax credit of $7,500. (Federal tax credit can range from $0 up to $7,500.) In California, the vehicle's largest market, residents of the state will be able to purchase the all-new Volt for as low as $24,995 after state and Federal incentives. The 2016 model will start at $33,995 MSRP, including an $825 destination fee (excluding tax, title, license and dealer fees). This is almost $1,200 less than the current generation Volt. "The next generation Chevrolet Volt delivers more technology, the ability to drive further between gas fill ups and now with even more value to our customers. It's what our loyal Volt owners told us they wanted," said Steve Majoros, Director, Chevrolet Marketing. "We are confident we will continue to attract new customers to Volt with the vehicle's product improvements and attractive price." The Volt continues to be a success with the brand with nearly 70 percent of Volt owners trading in a non-GM product or adding to their household fleet in 2014, the highest of any Chevy nameplate. The number one trade-in for the Volt is the Toyota Prius. To date more than 75,000 first generation Volt owners have driven hundreds of millions of EV miles.
