85 El Camino Conquista 305 5.0, All Original on 2040-cars
Carolina Beach, North Carolina, United States
This truck is all original. All the gauges work, power windows and locks work great, AC blows very cold, engine and transmission run and shift perfect. This car fires right up even when cold runs and drives great. The 4 barrel carburetor was redone about a year and a half ago. The car had tune up the same time as the carburetor service. Transmission fluid was just changed, and the motor gets an oil change every 3000 miles or before. Air ride shocks in rear work perfect. New rubber seals for doors and windows inside and out 2 years ago. No air leaking in like a lot of cars this age. Everything is original except the exhaust and rims and tires. I put flow master exhaust on it about 5 years ago. The interior in this car is perfect, head liner was redone about three years ago, the upholstery is in great shape(no burns and tears, clean). There is a small rust spot on the bottom of the drivers side door, other than that the car has absolutely no rust. The car was garage kept for the majority of its life and is garage kept now. I would drive this car to California from NC tomorrow, its very reliable. The paint is near perfect for being 30 years old. I have the original sales receipt from when I bought it from Jeff King Chevrolet in Wilmington, NC. I also have all the service receipts from the fluid changes and exhaust work that has been done. Car has been maintain by the Chevy dealership since I've owned it. This is a collector car and has been treated as such. BEAUTIFUL RIDE, MUST SEE, you wont regret your decision to purchase this car. I've loved it since I got it and it saddens me to have to let it go, but with another baby on the way we need a minivan, not a collector car. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING COSTS OR PICKUP IN PERSON. IF YOUD PREFER I CAN DELIVER THE CAR FOR $1.00 PER MILE PLUS FUEL COSTS.

GM laying off more than 4,000 workers Monday morning
Sat, Feb 2 2019According to reports from Automotive News, The Detroit News, and CNN, General Motors plans to begin laying off more than 4,000 salaried workers starting Monday morning. In a statement to AN, a spokesperson for the automaker said, "We are not confirming timing. Our employees are our priority. We will communicate with them first." We've been expecting layoffs at General Motors since November, 2018. At the time, the Detroit-based automaker announced it would seek to shed 8,100 salaried employees, shut down five assembly plants in North America, and kill off several slow-selling models. One month earlier, GM offered buyout packages to 18,000 workers and said it would seek to cut its global workforce by 25 percent. A spokesperson said at the time the moves were "proactive steps to get ahead of the curve by accelerating our efforts to address overall business performance." The cost-cutting moves are expected to save GM up to $2.5 billion in 2019 and as much as $6 billion by 2020. David Kudla, CEO and chief investment strategist of Mainstay Capital Management, referred to the impending culling as "Black Monday" and told The Detroit News that the layoffs would begin around 7:30 a.m. and continue in waves throughout the coming days and weeks. GM plans to deliver on its fourth-quarter and full-year 2018 earnings report on Wednesday. President Donald Trump plans to deliver the annual State of the Union address a day earlier on Tuesday. We expect to hear plenty more from both sides over the next several days.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
