You are looking at a 1980 El Camino in Plum Crazy Purple. Non-Smoker. This car has a 350 with a 4 bolt main out of a 1978 Chev. Automatic 2 Speed Powerglide transmission. 4 barrel quadrajet carb. New tires with American Racing rims. Long tube headers with true dual exhaust. Custom paint and decals. One of a kind wood bed that is hand painted. Shaved tailgate. Never seen rain or clouds. This car is 100% rust free and is solid all the way through. Air shocks in the rear to lift or lower. The engine was went through before I purchased the car and runs great. It does have a scratch on the tailgate above the lettering, a crack in the corner of the windshield and a crack in the dash next to the defroster. The car is in great shape and drives perfect. It is a very tight ride. I purchased the vehicle in 2008 from the gentleman in Hastings, MN. He had a wall dedicated to the trophies he had won with it. Since I bought the car I've put less than 1000 miles on it and am only selling because of health problems. If you have any questions feel free to call at 763-263-9390. If I do not answer, leave a message with your number and I WILL RETURN YOUR CALL. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANYTIME. $1000 WILL BE DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF AUCTION END VIA PAYPAL. THE REST WILL BE DUE IN CASH. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
Chevy confirms Corvette Stingray Convertible for Geneva
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Want proof that General Motors has increased global ambitions for its 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray? It's staging the world premiere of the model's convertible variant at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
As previously rumored, the droptop rendered above will debut at the Swiss show, making its first appearance anywhere on March 5. According to Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet, the location makes sense because Corvette "...is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
While neither Chevrolet nor the Corvette has a major sales presence in Switzerland, the Bowtie's European headquarters is located in Zurich (about three hours to the northeast of Geneva) and GM has made it clear that it wants to build the Chevrolet brand up across Europe.
Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
