RARE SUPER SPORT EL CAMINO 350 4 SPEED 10 BOLT POSI

This a is a 1978 supersport that is in excellent restorable condition and would be an easy restoration..It is one of approx. 1700 built in 1978 with the saginaw 4 speed option & it is unclear how many of them were super sports...This car is all original down to the original two tone paint..The car was zebarted (undercoated) when new & has kept it in great shape..There is no body rust whatsoever expect for surface rust on roof & hood and two holes in rear bumper..The frame & bushings are still in great shape also..The inside of the bed is awesome & floorboards are rust free...This car has no leaks...The glass is excellent condition & all the trim is in really good shape...Has the original 6000rpm tach in dash but is currently unhooked...The interior has the usual cracks and sun damage but it is all there..Still has the factory air shocks & trailer hitch installed...The 350 small block has the eldebrock performer package(intake, camshaft & carburator) & runs great..It doesnt burn oil or smoke..Has lots of power...Even the fast idle works..The 4 speed shifts great & makes no noises but does need a new pilot bushing..Dash rattles a little bit when the clutch is first released..After that everything works as it should..I do not know of anything else wrong with this vehicle..The rear is factory posi & still has the factory ratio..(gets good gas mileage 25?)This car is driven on a regular basis & i would not hesitate to jump on I-95 & ride...All brakes components including lines ave been replaced in the last 2 years...It has fairly new dual exhaust with catalytic convertors installed so it should pass emissions inspection with no problem..Engine was recently tuned up & oil changed..It ill be sold with the original rally wheels, caps & rings..Weld wheels do not convey with sale..I have owned multiple El Caminos over the years and this is the nicest one ive seen in a while..This car is a great start for an investment and would make a great addition to any collection..Thanks

MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon

Sat, Jun 20 2015

MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.

Chevy, Kid Rock in Confederate flag row with civil rights group

Mon, Jul 13 2015

Two of Detroit's own are ensnared in controversy today. In an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly, mulleted musician Kid Rock told those protesting the Confederate Battle Flag to "kiss my ass." Now, Chevrolet, which is sponsoring Rock's summer concert tour, is under fire for its support. "We are committed to our sponsorship of Kid Rock's summer tour and are confident that he will provide his fans, many of whom are proud Chevrolet owners, with a spectacular concert experience that celebrates American Freedom," a Chevy spokesperson told The Detroit Free Press last week. The company also uses the Kid Rock anthem Born Free in its pickup truck advertising. The company's position is not sitting well with the Detroit chapter of the National Action Network, though, which has called on GM to pull its support for the embattled artist. "It's obvious to us that, by supporting [Rock], while he's making inflammatory statements, General Motors becomes an accomplice if they allow him their support to stand behind his statements," the Rev. Charles Williams II, NAN's Detroit chapter director, told the Freep. As controversial as Rock's comments are, it's not entirely clear when the last time he actually waved that flag was. The Freep reports that several concertgoers don't recall seeing the flag during his most recent tour, or even over the last few years of concerts. In a 2002 interview with the paper, Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, said that the flag had been used as a symbol of southern rock and a rebel spirit, saying: "It's not about hatred or being a racist. I like Southern rock music, and a lot of people died under that flag for beliefs they had, right or wrong. But it stands for rebel, and my love of Southern rock." Related Video:
