Up for sale is a 1972 El Camino SS.  This is a beautiful car. This is not a numbers matching car. Engine was origionally a 350. It's not a perfect car but it isn't priced that way.  The car has a 454 cu. in. with a 750 Holly and 500 HP. It has a set of headers and new exhaust system and sounds really wicked.  It is a very powerful car.  It is a very clean good looking car as you can see from the pictures.  The door jams and frame are clean.  The paint really looks good but is not perfect and the chrome is in not excellent but good condition.  The car runs and drives really well.  I bought the car and drove it 120 miles home cruising 55 to 65 mph and had no problems. There were a couple times I couldn't resist punching it a little and it just has a lot of power.  It runs and drives great and the transmission is strong and shifts like new.   It has chrome wheels and baby moon hub caps on the front and Craiger SS mags on the back and LIKE NEW Micky Thompsons all the way around.  It is an all around fun car to drive and will get attention anywhere you take it.  You will not be dissappointed with this car for the price.

I am always honest and up front with the vehicles I sell and always try to point out the details that you might want to give some attention to should you be the buyer.  The main thing i noticed it that the right turn signal does not work.  I have not tried to fix it and it could be as simple as a burned out bulb or flasher or the switch under the steering wheel.  I would think it isn't a serious issue.  Everything else seems to work on the car.  The car has set for the last month since I brought it home and it started with no problem.  The old big block engines are cold natured but it started without issue.  This car is being sold as is, no warranty is expressed on implied.  Once an offer is accepted a $500 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of the purchase.  Cash payment will be required within 7 days of the auctions end.  The purchaser is responsible for picking up and / or transporting the vehicle. Please  do not make an offer or purchase this car if you are unable to complete the purchase.

The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers

Sun, Dec 14 2014

Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities. GM to idle Indiana truck plant for two weeks over chip shortage

Fri, Mar 25 2022

WASHINGTON —General Motors said Friday it will idle for two weeks in April an assembly plant in Indiana that builds pickup trucks, over ongoing semiconductor chip shortages. The Detroit automaker said it will halt production at its Fort Wayne assembly plant, which builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, for two weeks starting April 4. "There is still uncertainty and unpredictability in the semiconductor supply base, and we are actively working with our suppliers to mitigate potential issues moving forward," GM said Friday. The automaker said this is its first semiconductor-related full-size truck production downtime since August. GM noted that overall it has "seen better consistency in semiconductor supply through the first quarter compared to last year as a whole. This has translated into improvement in our production and deliveries during the first three months of the year." GM Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra met with some lawmakers on Capitol Hill this week, including Republican Senator Todd Young of Indiana. GM is backing a bill in Congress to provide $52 billion in government subsidies to boost U.S. semiconductor manufacturing. GM said that legislation could help "alleviate the ongoing shortage that continues to impact U.S. automotive manufacturing." (Reporting by David Shepardson; editing by Jonathan Oatis) Related video:

2021 GMC Canyon trims overhauled, SL and SLT disappear

Sun, Feb 2 2020

Until this year, the GMC Canyon has offered six trims in two drivetrains: SL, a base model simply called Canyon, SLE, All Terrain, SLT, and Denali, with all but the SL available in either 2WD or 4WD. GM Authority credits "dealer sources" for news that the 2021 Canyon has had its trim steps overhauled. According to the chart in the report, the SL and SLT are no more, the base Canyon gets replaced by a trim called Elevation Standard, and SLE turns into Elevation. We already know that All Terrain has given way to AT4, while Denali remains in the top spot. Trim content doesn't change with the names, but there's no equivalent for the SLT trim in terms of spec. The GMC site lists the 2020 SLE and SLT on the same page, and a shopper must burrow into the spec comparison page to figure out the differences. The SLT only comes with the 3.6-liter V6 and eight-speed transmission, and makes features like remote start, climate control, heated mirrors, heated seats, hitch guidance, and a spare tire standard equipment. It also chromes the exterior door handles, and offers a Cocoa/Dune leather interior that can't be had on the SLE. It's possible the SLT's $4,700 premium over the SLE led more buyers to start with the SLE and add the engine and options they wanted.   We have a number of questions that we'll need to wait for GMC's official announcement to answer. The 2020 Canyon offers an Elevation Edition package for $650 that adds a black grille with body-colored surround, and 18-inch Satin Graphite wheels in all-terrain rubber. There's also a California Elevation Special Edition for $1,195 with all-weather floor liners, assist steps, and mud flaps. They could be optioned on the SLE but not the SLT. With the addition of two Elevation trims, we'll find out if the packages get renamed or go away. Separately, CarBuzz spotted a 2021 GM Fleet Order Guide that mentions a leveling kit option, LPO Code SQS, for the Canyon and the Chevrolet Colorado. We noted the inclusion of a leveling kit in the coming Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Package. According to the order guide, the option can be ordered only for the Canyon AT4 trim, but it's not clear if that's an a la carte choice or if buyers must order the Off-Road Performance Package. On the Chevy, the rake-removal equipment can be had with the Colorado 4x2 Z71 or the 4x4 Work Truck, LT, and Z71. Related Video:
