1970 Chevy El Camino Ss 396 Numbers Matching Frame Off Restoration on 2040-cars
Lehi, Utah, United States
WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED BY THIS EL CAMINO SS! I am happy to accommodate inspections! Sounds, looks, and runs like new. Honestly, this car drives on the highway and through town as good as it did off the showroom floor. Complete frame-off restoration done 7 years ago. Extraordinary paint looks super deep. Everything original with no expenses spared. Please see pictures for further condition and call with any questions. All instruments, gauges, and controls functional. Has won awards and is a show car winner.
Car has never been in the weather. Garage kept under cover. Original Cowl Induction is on this El Camino and it works flawlessly. Big-block flow-master sound from the 70's that sounds just how you want it to and turns heads your direction. In full disclosure, there are a few paint bubbles in the bed of the truck. Please see pictures for further detail. This El Camino has never been smoked in. Hard to find color combo - VERY RARE! Clean title car that needs no mechanical work done to it. $500 deposit due at auction close. Full amount due within 5 days. Wire transfer to bank preferred. Will also accept cash in person. Happy to work with your shipper, but must be picked up within 2 weeks. Please call or email with questions. Ken (385) 290-7610 VIN#: 136800K133400 New information 4-15-14: Today I brought in two experts to provide car specific data. This is a true SS car manufactured in the KC plant. The body tags and vin number confirm options (ie. white bucket seats, etc.) and 1970 true SS car. The engine & trans. numbers (396--402 350hp 4 barrel carbureted, TH 400 transmission) are also 1970 components made in the KC plant for an SS car. The number however on the engine block is 4 months after the body. Could be original due to so many custom options… not normal (air, power windows, etc.) or it may not be the original engine. All of the components on this car however are 1970’s correct for the time period. Also the mechanic who looked the car over today was very impressed. It runs very strong and has no problems. He did have to fix the passenger side power window mechanism. I have no issue saying this car runs perfect. |

2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf
Tue, 23 Apr 2013The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.
2016 Chevy Volt sneak peek at CES
Mon, Jan 5 2015Here it is, folks – your first real glimpse at the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The gasoline-electric sedan will officially debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week, but Chevy gave us a sneak peek of its redesigned Volt at a media event in Las Vegas late Sunday, as part of its CES festivities. There isn't a ton to see here, and sorry about the low quality video (and for us not standing front and center during the reveal). But we can clearly see the car's redesigned front fascia – something recently previewed at a fan event in Los Angeles. For another view, check out a high-res photo of the new Volt from our friends at The Verge, here. Chevy even tweeted a photo of the Volt's new nose on its official Volt Twitter account, which you can see below. The automaker didn't divulge any details about its new Volt, but we already know quite a bit. For starters, the Volt will use a new, 1.5-liter gasoline engine and won't require premium fuel. It'll have more EV range and a bigger battery, too. We'll have a whole mess of information when the 2016 Volt is fully revealed in Detroit in about one week's time. In the meantime, here are some more looks at the Volt, courtesy of the Twitterverse. We're so excited about #NextGenVolt we brought it out early at #CES2015! Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
