im selling my 1968 chevy el camino. it is a CA car, with a clean CA title. it is a sweet driver. it needs a few things here and there to be a show car. but its a really fun fast car with very few miles on a freshly built custom motor. new craftec tonneau cover, truck bed is also lined. new wheels and tires. less than 500 miles. just aligned The Motor is a custom built 400 small block bored 30 over, making it a 406. the motor has been line honed, block decked, 202 angle plug heads, speed pro dished pistons, speed pro molley rings, chev pink HP rods, cast steel crank, roller timing chain, comp 525 lift cam 270 degree duration flat tappet, smith bros push rods, roller tip rockers/polley locks, milling HV oil pump, MSD HEI ignition/distributor, Holley street dominator intake manifold, comp push rod guide plates, TCI flex plate, cast tall valve covers powder coated orange. Edelbrock 1411 750 CFM electric choke, the motor has 300 miles on it. I installed new autometer gauges at the same time as install so odometer reflects actual engine mileage. this motor should be putting out 550hp and 500 ft/lbs TQ. the transmission is a th350 with a ten bolt rear end non posi. just installed Borgenson quick ratio manual gear box. new upper tubular control arms, new poly urethane front end bushings, car drives and handles very well. the interior has original buckets with 3inch orange lap belts, no headliner and missing drivers side door panel, floor has new protective liner and sound deadening material under carpet. new smugglers box. floor shifter, new covans classic dash with all new autometer gauges, has dash top cover and new dash top to go with car but not installed. very much a nice car, gets compliments everywhere I take it. if you have any questions please email me and I will do my best to answer them. thank you |

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states
Fri, 26 Sep 2014The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
