1967 Chevrolet El Camino Base Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 4.1l on 2040-cars
Glendora, California, United States

For Sale is a 1967 El Camino. I bought this car from the original owners grandson. The car had been sitting since 1989 and has 60500 original miles. My intent was to "hot rod" this car but have changed my mind. This is a great example of an original unmolested 1960's car. The engine starts first try when cold and runs great. It puffs a little smoke when cold but quickly dissipates. The 3spd manual trans is smooth and noise free as is the rear end. The brakes are solid and work great. The interior needs a little work but is very useable as is. The bias ply tires are Sears brand that were installed some 30 years ago. They show good tread but needless to say should be changed before any significant driving. The car is currently registered. I have the original black California license plates that will go with the car. Since the car was out of the system they wouldn't let me register them without going through the YOM process. The plates are clear to use and I have proof that they are the original plates for the car.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

Seeing the Detroit Auto Show via drone
Sun, Jan 18 2015Seeing the Chevrolet display at the Detroit Auto Show is worth doing this year, and not just because of the new Corvette Z06, Volt and Bolt concept. In order to attract the new kids, The Bowtie has gone what the old kids used to call "buck wild" with their show stand at Cobo Hall. A Corvette Z06, Trax, and Colorado are parked along a central aisle, called Mainstreet, at the end of which is a 20-foot-tall, 73-foot long transparent screen lording over the new Volt. Elsewhere are five more 20-foot-tall screens broadcasting nine stories today's Chevrolet wants to tell about its vehicles, from performance to belief in the power of play to its 4G LTE-equipped OnStar telematics service. Then there are the social media and virtual reality safety installations, the community presentations and more. Chevrolet flew a drone through the stand to show off what it's doing, which is has replaced eye-level video as the next best thing to being there. You can check it out in the video above.
