Pristine 1984 Chevrolet C4 Corvette 12,760 Original Miles - Museum Condition on 2040-cars

This is my father's prized 1984 C4 Corvette with 12,758 miles. This was the first year of Corvette's new body style. My father bought this car brand new in 1984 and this car has been perfectly cared for since then. This was my Dad's baby and he was the biggest perfectionist I have ever known. Everything he owned was immaculate and perfect and this car was no exception. It is as close to a brand new 1984 Corvette as you'll ever see. This car could go in a museum or a Corvette collection. The condition can only be described as "like new". This car is completely stock and has not been modified in any way, right down the the original BOSE stereo system. The only reason I'm selling this car is because I'm moving and won't have an extra garage space at my new house. I love this car and I'm selling it with a heavy heart, but I'll be glad for it to go to a good home and to someone who will take care of it the way we have. I cannot imagine there is a better-kept or better condition 1984 Corvette for sale anywhere. This car has been kept parked in a climate-controlled garage space with a cover on it since it was new. This car has never even spent a night outside and hasn't been driven in the rain. The car has only 12,760 original miles since new, but it has always been started up regularly and "exercised" at least around the block on a regular basis. The car has the original paint and it has never been in an accident. There are no exterior or paint flaws, nor any cracks in the fiberglass body. The glass is all perfect. The exterior, paint and body are "as new". Everything on the car works- everything. There is nothing broken and nothing not working. My father had the car serviced and looked after by the same mechanic for 25 years and if the car ever needed anything, it got it immediately. The engine, transmission, brakes, steering, everything works great. There are no mechanical or electrical problems- you could get in this car and drive to California if you wanted. The interior is excellent- there is no wear showing and everything is perfectly clean. The carpets and upholstery are flawless. It actually still smells new inside, if you can believe that. All door seals are good and the car doesn't have any leaks. The tires were replaced a few years ago and they are still in great shape. This is a spectacular 1984 Corvette, the best you'll ever find. I hope the new owner will treat it with the same care and respect that it's seen since new. |

The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers
Sun, Dec 14 2014Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities. Sunday Drive: Performance comes in many shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 19 2017The Chevrolet Corvette has always stood out as a bastion of reasonably priced performance, and the latest 'Vette has that in spades. And while its expected starting price of around $120,000 certainly isn't cheap, it's an undeniable deal in the supercar world – remember, this thing'll do 210 miles per hour thanks to its 755-horsepower supercharged V8 engine. And did you get a load of that massive rear wing? Team Corvette's longtime foe, the Porsche 911, is similarly hellbent on ultimate performance. And as a reminder of how long the Corvette/911 rivalry has been melting tires we present the 1990 Porsche 911 as reimagined by Singer you see below. It's beautiful, it's green, and it's packing 500 air-cooled horsepower. You don't have to burn gasoline to go fast, as proven by the second-generation Tesla Roadster, which was revealed as a surprise late last week. Elon Musk says it'll be the quickest car in the world with a 0-60 time of just 1.9 seconds. And while you may not think of a semi truck when you think speed, the Tesla Semi can do 0-60 in 5 seconds flat unloaded, or in 20 seconds with a load of 80,000 pounds. Compared to today's crop of diesel semis, that's amazing. Continuing the truck theme, we present an artists rendering of what the next-generation Ram 1500 pickup may look like. Spoiler alert: Ram's mini-semi look is giving way to something much more modern. There may even be a first-of-its-kind split tailgate at the rear. And if you don't think the Ram 1500 has anything to do with performance, we should remind you that it's one of the cheapest ways to get a tire-shredding Hemi V8 engine in America. 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1: All hail the 755-horsepower C7 king This is the first Porsche 911 to get Singer and Williams' 500-horsepower engine Tesla Roadster surprise reveal | 'Quickest car in the world' Tesla Semi Truck revealed: Here are the key details This could be the next-generation 2019 Ram 1500 2019 Ram 1500 spotted with split tailgate
