Chevrolet Corvette Coupe on 2040-cars
Winter Beach, Florida, United States
Beautiful 1985 C 4 Corvette Coupe. 230 HP, L98 5.7L Fuel Injection Engine with 67,000 miles. 4+3 Manual Shift, Ice Cold A/C, woth of Custom Cray, Chrome 17; Rims with new Michelin Pilot Sport Tires. I just spent more then $1,100 last week to rebuild the LED, Digital gauges, with three new modules, making it as good and readable as new. New Black Corvette carpet complete. Both seats were done about two years ago. No cracks or rips anywhere. Custom wood steering wheel, I still have the original. Rare two tone Bronze paint in very good condition. See thru Targa Roof. Rear Wing. Red Corvette Calipers all the way around. This low milage Corvette drives even better then it looks and it looks better then 95% of the C 4's on the road. It would be very hard to find a finer example of this great design. The owner before me had it for 16 years.

Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16Wed, 06 Feb 2013
The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system worksFri, 22 Mar 2013
When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-warSun, 30 Dec 2012
A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
