Chevrolet: Corvette 3lt on 2040-cars
Berkeley, California, United States
2014 3LT Z51 - Stingray Supercharged This car is awesome/extremely fast and Im only selling because Im buying a new house. Its time to free up some cash flow. Everything is stock on the car, with the exception of the engine. The engine work was completed by Cunningham Motorsports in Murrieta. These guys are known for making Vettes go really fast! This car is full of options. It has everything the 3LT Z51 has plus the following:- Carbon Fiber interior package- HUD- Chrome aluminum wheels (19 front, 20 rear)- Magnetic ride control- 6 speed auto with paddle shifts- Exhaust, multi mode- Red calipers Window sticker was $73,925.00 Engine Mods:A&A Supercharger system, with intercooler Cunningham custom ground camMethanol injectionLMR catch canCustom tune on 91 octane*Best pull was 670 rwhp on their dyno (sheet attached) The car runs and drives stock until you romp on the throttle. The only giveaway is the lopey cam idle. And of course the loud blow off when you let off :). This car gets ridiculously great fuel mileage too, as a bonus. If youve been wanting to buy a Stingray and soup it up, save yourself some money and buy this one. This beast has never been on a track, but the guys at Cunningham were running the exact same set up on their shop car at one time and ran a 10.3 quarter mile on drag radials. So theres plenty of power on tap to break some hearts. The warranty is still there, but I dont know what kind of luck youll have if you take it to the dealership?? They might warranty everything except the drivetrain, but I cant guarantee that... I requested that the car remain California Smog Legal when we started the mods, so Im assuming itll pass Ca emissions. I cant guarantee that itll pass, since I havent had it checked. But even the air filter is in the air box still. No changes were made to the exhaust either. She still smells new and is very clean.

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

2015 Chevy Volt gets larger battery, though range remains the same
Sat, Jul 19 2014The Chevrolet Volt isn't changing much for the 2015 model year. According to specifications uncovered by Inside EVs, though, the new Volt's battery does have a slightly larger capacity. According to the spec sheet, this doesn't translate to increased range. Real world driving, though, might tell a different story. The 2015 Volt's battery storage is slightly higher than the outgoing model's, up from 16.5 kilowatt-hours to 17.1 kWh. According to GM's manager of electrification technology communications, Kevin Kelly, speaking to Green Car Reports, the increased capacity is "a late change done in the cell... just another continuous improvement to surprise and delight our customers." The stated electric range, however, stays at 38 miles. Inside EVs followed up on its original report, and found that drivers could see some advantage to the battery tweak. When they spoke to Kelly, he told them, "As a result of this change, we would expect that some customers may see a slight improvement in overall EV range." It's worth noting that when battery capacity increased from 16 kWh to 16.5 kWh for the 2013 Volt, electric range increased by three miles to the current 38, while MPGe went from 94 to 98. The price of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains steady, at $34,995. The actual cost to the customer is considerably less with the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as any local incentives.
Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
