After changing my mind countless times over the past several months, I’ve decided to sell my Corvette. It’s an amazing car, but I hardly drive it. I won’t drive it unless the weather is perfect (never been driven in the rain, etc.) and most of my driving is either highway (I won’t drive it on the highways) or with my family (it’s a two-seater and I have a family of 5). The car is just not getting the exercise it should. I’m the only owner. It has a little over 9k miles, but most of those were put on it the first year after I purchased it from a local dealer. I know some people buy this kind of car with the intent of parking it in their garage, but that wasn’t my plan. So, I’m looking for a new home.
The car is beautiful. Every time I looked at it over the past several months as I contemplated selling it, I would change my mind. It’s a beautiful shade of blue, a premium color called Jetstream blue, and that color really pops on the car. It’s pretty loaded. You can see all of the vitals for the car below. I installed a BBK cold air intake to let the car breathe a little better than the factory gear provides, but I kept the factory intake if the new owner prefers to keep the original. I also dressed up the rear of the car a bit with chromed “Corvette” lettering and tail light shades. Take a look at the picture of the rear of the car and you’ll see these enhancements. Finally, I live in a state that requires a front tag and I couldn’t bear to mount one on the front, so I had a powered retractable front plate installed ($250 installed). It’s mounted to the car from the underside, not the front. It has two remotes so you can display or hide away the tag with the push of a button. I included a picture of the remotes and two pictures of the front of the car; one with the tag displayed and one with it retracted.
Here are the vitals for the car:

Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt sales both down in June
Wed, Jul 1 2015The best news you can slice out of today's sales reports for June 2015 is that things have to get better at some point. Most likely, sales of the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt will see a big increase once the second-generation models of both vehicles arrive (the Volt later this year and the Leaf, well, at some point after that). For now, though, the best-selling EVs in the US are both suffering compared to where the numbers were at last year. The numbers are also suffering compared to last month, which was the best of the year so far for both vehicles. Looking just at June, though, Leaf sales totaled 2,074 units, down 11.6 percent from a year ago (the EV sold 2,347 units in June 2014). The world's best-selling EV is now down 22.9 percent for the year so far (12,736 in 2014 vs. 9,816 in 2015). Things are a bit worse over at Chevy, where news about the pretty-much-better-in-all-ways second-gen Volt is coming out with great frequency. Nonetheless, people are still buying the outgoing Volt, snapping up 1,225 units in June. That's down 31.1 percent from the 1,777 sold in June 2014. So far in 2015, the Chevy has sold 5,622 Volts, a drop of 34.7 percent from the 8,615 Volts sold in the first six months of 2014. As always, we're working on our full tally of green car sales for June and will bring that to you shortly. For now, discuss the sales of these two plug-in pioneers in our Comments, below. Consumer Reports declares most and least loved cars [w/video]
Wed, Dec 3 2014Consumer Reports is crunching the numbers from its annual owner-satisfaction survey, and part of that process is finding out how attached drivers are to their cars. CR simply asks readers of models up to three years old if they would buy the same vehicle again in light of their entire ownership experience, and tallies the results. After looking at the responses for about 350,000 vehicles, it turns out that people really love a certain California-built, electrically powered luxury sedan. That's right, this year's the overall winner was the Tesla Model S with a whopping 98 percent of owners saying they would purchase another one (the Model S also won this award last year, with 99 percent satisfaction). The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came in a close second with 95 percent of drivers hoping to park another one in their garage. A few models weren't quite so favored, though. The Nissan Versa Sedan was the least loved model among its owners; a mere 42 percent said that they would purchase another. The aging Jeep Compass didn't do much better, with just 43 percent of drivers willing to buy the softroader again. On average, about 70 percent of owners say they would buy their car again, and only four cars ranked below 50 percent in CR's findings. Check out the video above to see some of the winners and losers in a few of CR's categories. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the full list on its website.
