This is a 2003 Corvette Z06 in excellent condition.  This car has just had a brand new LS6 installed by Westgate Chevrolet in Amarillo Texas.  The engine has a 3yr 100,000 mile warranty with it.  Also I had several things replaced to get this vehicle ready for sale.  The EBCM and BPMV have been replaced and have a 1 yr warranty.  These items commonly malfunction on this model year corvette and are very expensive to replace, the buyer of this car can rest assured that they will not have to drop the $5000+ to repair these items.  This car also has a brand new clutch that was installed with the new engine.  I also had the knock sensor replaced on the engine due to a code being shown after the new engine install and had a seal replaced on the transmission that was leaking.  I have included the receipts for all the work done on the car, and anyone interested can contact Westgate Chevrolet and they can go into any detail you would like about the repairs.  Since the repairs this cars runs perfect with no problems at all.

The exterior of the car is beautiful, millennium yellow with 50th anniversary Z06 badges.  There are a few rock chips on the hood and a crack in the paint on the Corvette letters in the back.  Neither are noticeable unless you are standing a few inches from the car, as can be seen in the pictures.  The car was involved in an accident 2 years ago when a man backed into the passenger door.  Insurance replaced the door and I insisted that they use Prestige Auto in Pampa Texas to do the repairs.  As you can see in the pictures they did an amazing job, the door looks perfect and you can, in no way, tell that the door was painted and replaced.  There is a rock chip in the windshield that I got driving the car home from the engine install :< Tires are still in good condition but will probably need to be replaced in 10,000 miles or so, still show green on the indicator.

The interior of the car is in excellent condition, almost no wear and tear at all.  I added a Pioneer fold out DVD player to the car when i bought it, it needs to be looked at by a technician as it sometimes wont turn on, but it works 90% of the time.  I still have the factory player and will include it in the sale if the buyer wants it.  The BOSE audio in the car is in perfect condition and sounds great.  All other electronics on the car are in perfect working condition.  Carpet is in great condition all around the car.

I have the car for three years and have enjoyed every minute driving it.  I am getting married and buying a house so have to sell it now :< I hope someone can enjoy it as much as I have.

Questions are welcome! Please let me know if I left something out or if you need more information.

I will accept a bank wire transfer or cash in person for the sale.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Canada opens probe into 250,000 GM pickups, SUVs over brake performance

Sun, Jun 23 2019

Transport Canada, the auto safety regulator, has opened a probe into braking issues in nearly 250,000 General Motors full-size pickups and SUVs after U.S. officials launched a similar probe last year, the agency said on its website. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in November into 2.73 million U.S. 2014-2016 model year SUVs and pickups after receiving 487 reports of hard brake pedal effort accompanied by extended stopping distance that were attributed to deterioration of the engine-driven brake assist vacuum pump. Transport Canada's probe covers 249,700 2015 through 2017 model year vehicles including the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon as well as 2014-2017 Chevrolet Silverado LD and GMC Sierra LD vehicles. The U.S. agency said it had reports of nine incidents of vehicles incurring damage as a result of colliding with another vehicle or fixed object at low speeds and reports of two injuries. NHTSA said if the pump fails to operate, the amount of brake power assist can be significantly reduced, extending vehicle stopping distance. The NHTSA sent GM an information request in a Feb. 7 letter. A GM spokesman said he had no update on the investigation. Reporting by David Shepardson; editing by Jonathan Oatis

GM Canada recalls 159,240 GMC and Chevy trucks for faulty defroster circuit

Fri, Jul 12 2019

General Motors is recalling more than 159,000 2014-2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks in Canada due to a potential fire risk. GM says the rear defroster circuit could overheat on trucks optioned with the power-sliding rear window. Thus far, there is no word on the recall's relation to U.S. vehicles. The recall, found by Automotive News, was posted to Transport Canada on June 28, 2019 with manufacturer recall No. N192220470. Included in the 159,240 vehicles are the 2014-2018 Silverado 1500, the 2015-2019 Silverado HD, the 2014-2018 Silverado LD, the 2014-2018 Sierra 1500, the 2015-2019 Sierra HD, and the 2014-2018 Sierra LD. The notice says the rear defroster circuit, specifically on trucks with the power-sliding rear window, could overheat. Because of its placement, this excess heat could cause melting, smoking, or possibly fire, in the worst case scenario. As of now, there is no official word when GM will initiate the recall and there is no official fix detailed just yet. GM suggests that owners, who will be notified by mail if their vehicles are affected, take their trucks to a dealer to remove the rear window defroster fuse as a stop-gap.  Automotive News contacted GM to find out if the problem is also found in trucks sold in the United States, but no definitive statement was made, as the investigation is reportedly ongoing. We will update this space if American vehicles are found to be included in the problem.
