1981 C3 Corvette , last year for a pure 4-speed manual transmission, and the final year of carburetors , this was the year the Corvettes' were made in St. Louis and Bowling Green, this car was one of the 8,995 made in Bowling Green. A California Corvette all original (except new seats and tires) and documented with original 46,114 miles. Sold new at Joe MacPherson Chevrolet in Irvine California and then the original owner sold it in 1998 at a Las Vegas auction to the Bedford Ford dealership in Bedford Pa. This is a 3 owner car with a clean Car Fax and all the original books and pamphlets including the original warranty booklet filled out by the original owner,also included in the paperwork is a copy of the title when sold in Las Vegas. The original pre-delivery inspection papers and factory tire booklets are included. Equipped with 4-speed manual transmission,mirror t-tops, polished aluminum wheels, brand new B.F. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
