If you have any questions feel free to email: wiltonwmmacbeth@ukphotographers.com .This car was found in Sarasota, Florida owned by a young man that really did not know the cars worth. Either that,
or he knew the cars condition was very "ruff" and needed a lot of "attention". As Extreme Motorcar of Tampa, Inc.
began the complete disassembly, they found that the "attention" the car needed was a lot more than "ruff". The good
news was, that this was a true survivor car and had never been abused , raced or modified in any way. Every
original part was there. Incredible. 40 years old and never been modified.!! What a FIND !!
Needless to say, she was completely disassembled and the body removed. No expense was spared in putting her back
together to her original glory...and then some. The paint and interior were designed by car designer, RobertBruce.
The result was a corvette built so well, you will find it extremely difficult to find another car that has
perfected body lines and a fit and finish that will rival the finest cars of today. Visit Extrememotorcar com for
a complete photo documentation of her build, from start to finish. You will be amazed !
The car was originally Donnybrooke Green over tan. According to my NCRS book, 1970 was the only year for that
color. But the color was very popular. Matter of fact , the most popular color sold that year. The 1970 was
available with 454 cubic inch engines. There were three engines available for the 1970 Corvette:
350 ci 350 hp base engine (L46)
454 ci 390 (LS5)
350 ci 370 hp (LT1)
11 Exterior colors were available (Paint code in parenthesis):
Classic White (972)
Monza Red (974)
Marlboro Maroon (975)
Mulsanne Blue (976)
Bridgehamptone Blue (979)
Donnybrooke Green (982)
Daytona Yellow (984)
Cortez Silver (986)
Ontario Orange (991)
Laguna Gray (992)
Corvette Bronze (993)
The 1970 Chevrolet Corvette replaced the 4 side gills with an egg-crate vents on the side. The fenders were flared
slightly to keep rocks from being kicked up and scratching the paint. The seats were redesigned again, this time to
create more headroom. 1970 enlarged the "Big Block" (known as the Rat motor) to its largest displacement at 454 ci.
. The relatively low production in 1970 was caused by a labor dispute that started in May of 1969. This dispute
caused the 1969 production run to be stretched 4 months and the 1970 run to be cut short. Just 6648 convertible
1970 Vettes were made. This made the 1970 Convertible one of the lowest production vettes ever.
This is a highly collectible car. Fun to drive, show and and enjoy. I will assure you , she draws a crowd where
ever you take her.

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.

GM alerting truck and sedan owners to a do-over on brake recall

Wed, Jan 29 2020

A recall campaign intended to address issues with braking systems on certain 2019 General Motors trucks and sedans may have introduced a new issue, the automaker has acknowledged, and thousands of owners driving repaired vehicles may need to return to their service departments for another update.  The update addresses a fix that was pushed out to owners of more than half a million brand-new GM trucks and sedans that could potentially lose partial braking function, according to the Detroit Free Press. The original software fix helped address situations where the vehicles' anti-lock braking systems would become disabled, which in turn would prevent electronic stability control from activating. Vehicles subject to the recall would often experience software glitches that prevented them from properly communicating the operational state of these systems, meaning drivers would have no idea that their brakes may not behave as expected in an emergency. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cadillac CT6, and GMC Sierra 1500 were all recalled in the original campaign.  Unfortunately, the early version of this fix appears to have introduced yet another software glitch, indicating that the original fix did not do the trick. Those who have not yet had their cars serviced can rest easy; they will only receive the most up-to-date version of the software fix.  Related video

GM says EVs are the future — but trucks are going to take it there

Fri, Jan 11 2019

In the PowerPoint deck for the General Motors Capital Markets Day presentation, one of the more disturbing things comes early on, during GM President Mark Reuss' initial remarks, in an area where he is discussing the company's overall strength in trucks. The point being made is that GM has a truck for all and sundry. And there it is, a phrase on a slide that should send chills up the spines of those who still pine for the old Bob Seger "Like a Rock" Silverado ads: "Little bit country. Little bit rock 'n' roll." That's right. Donny and Marie. Somehow the Denis Leary snark in the F-150 ads is all the more appealing. The Capital Markets Day presentation was chock full of observations about electrification and automation (Reuss and CEO Mary Barra both noted that the corporation's vision is one of "Zero Crashes. Zero Emissions. Zero Congestion." Dan Ammann talked about the progress being made at Cruise Automation; Reuss rolled out the plan for an array of electrified vehicles, with a luxury EV and a compact SUV being the "Centroid Entries" for the modular bases of many others). But it is worth noting that there is no getting away from the power of pickups in the U.S. market, as that was the central topic in Chief Financial Officer Dhivya Suryadevara's comments, with "Truck Franchise" being flanked by "Key Financial Priorities" and "Financial Outlook." Clearly, to gloss the old phrase, the truck segment is where the money is. Suryadevra enumerated how the truck segment is significantly different than other types of light vehicles. Among her points: GM, Ford and FCA have more than 90% of market share. The truck parc has been growing and aging over the past 10 years. Customers are fiercely loyal to the segment—as in 70% of truck buyers are truck buyers. A good number of the vehicles are for commercial use (40 percent). Trucks are "less prone to. . .mobility disruption." Trucks offer high margins. Translaton: The segment is one that they're solidly positioned in. There are lots of old trucks on the road that will need to be replaced by new ones. Perhaps buyers may switch from a Sierra to a Canyon, but it will be a truck. If your livelihood depends on that type of vehicle, even if gas prices go up or the economy begins to go south, you're going to stick with it. Most of the country isn't San Francisco, so trucks will continue to be essential. And, well, they're profitable in the extreme.
