69 Corvette Coupe 427-435 L71 Tripower. Nice original car does not appear to have ever been hit hard anywhere. All codes believed to be correct as to color options etc.  Car was 427-390 hsp from factory now 427-435 L71 tri-power 1968 model.  This car is in the registry and was sold at Mecum Auction in Kissimee Fl appox 7 years ago for $35,500. Looks to be a 10-12 year old restoration of good to very good quality.  Car is very fast and very tight drives like a fully restored automobile. No clutch chatter no evidence of abuse by a heavy footed owner. Straight nice body as pictures show, very nice original interior,we believe.  Engine compartment sorted out well and not overly detailed with cheap inappropriate aftermarket parts. All shielding in place and great looking covers cleaners wires etc. Motor tight runs strong lifters etc sound as new. Fires and comes to idle very nicely smooth acceleration braking clutch etc everything works wipers have a mind of their own. Head lights dead on up--down both.  Goosebumps guaranteed with every start up it is truly tight and sounds terrific. I have handled 1500-2000 corvettes and know the difference. So when I say it sounds like 1969 and feels like 1969 I know what I am talking about. I was 16yrs old when I drove my 1st 69 big block coupe.  NOTES; paint is weak in several places see all pictures. Pipes not original. Undercarraige is very nice frame also. Tailpipe holes are in excellent condition. No silly inappropriate stuff about this car just super nice lines and raw horsepower pretty dark green original color with black vinyl interior , am/fm radio. No heated seats no navigation no walnut dashboard no communications center. How sweet it is!!   Though many areas of this car have been lovingly restored its interior is dead original survivor condition. seat covers carpet dash console door panels post panels etc all appear to be original and in very nice condition. small areas of carpet are faded and frayed a bit but patina is as good as it gets.  The areas of weak paint can be redone and blended with the still strong areas to make this car a great driver with a nice appearance. It does not need a full paint job just refer to pictures very straight panels no evidence of accidents bad body work etc solid panels all the way around the car and engine compartment. Only area which appears to have had work is driver door premature cracking is the only real evidence we can find. See pictures.  Your questions invited however we prefer not to end the auction early. The reserve is conservative just under $30,000 and out of respect for all bidders we would like to see the auction through. Good luck and be sure to ck out our reviews since 1948 business done the right way over 35,000 automobiles bought and sold full transparency no secrets. Thanks for your time and attention.

Chevy Bolt wins 2017 Green Car of the Year

Thu, Nov 17 2016

We knew that a plug-in vehicle was going to win the 2017 Green Car of the Year award this year, given that all five finalists have a way to charge up. And when Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, announced the winner – the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV – he said that the car itself represents one of those times in the auto industry when everything is about to change. Similar to the invention of the starter motor, things are about to get different. For now, though, the fact that the Bolt EV won an award sounds like the same old thing all over again. Just this week, it was named Motor Trends Car of the Year and to the Car And Driver Top 10 list. The other four finalists for Green Car of the Year included the Toyota Prius Prime, the Chrysler Pacifica, the Kia Optima (including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models) and the BMW 330e iPerformance. Last year, the winner was the 2016 Chevy Volt. Did Green Car Journal make the right selection this year? See the award ceremony below.

GM program sees dealers taking on way more loaner cars

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. Bring your car into the dealership for service, and you may need a loaner car in exchange. And with so many recalls being carried out, that means a lot of loaners – especially at General Motors dealerships. That could be one of the reasons why GM is massively expanding its loaner fleet program. While many Chevrolet and Buick-GMC dealerships have an on-site rental car location operated by a third party like Enterprise (which may or may not provide a GM vehicle), others manage their own loaner fleets. But while the range of dealerships operating such fleets was once small, reports Automotive News, the number has been growing rapidly: from the locations responsible for only 20 percent of those brands' sales two years ago to about 90 percent today. The impetus for that growth comes down to a massive expansion of GM's Courtesy Transportation Program. The initiative encourages dealers to ramp up their loaner fleet to a maximum size determined by GM, with a mix determined by the dealer itself, so that a showroom in Texas can be bolstered with a fleet of pickup trucks and a dealer in California can employ more Volt and Camaro Convertible loaners. The dealership gets a $500 credit for each vehicle its puts in its fleet, and can use those vehicles as loaners for service customers, as multi-day test drivers or to rent out separately. The vehicles remain in the dealer's fleet for 90 days or 7,500 miles, then they can be sold as used, but with new-car incentives. The dealer gets a fleet of loaners, customers get to use the loaners, try out a new car overnight or buy a barely used car with attractive incentives, and GM gets to clock more sales. But therein lies the kicker: the automaker counts the dispatch of the loaner new vehicle to the dealership as a new-car sale, which could end up distorting its sales figures. Counting loaner vehicles as sold vehicles is something of an industry-standard practice, but given the volume of vehicles we're talking about, this is a significant development for GM's bottom line. One dealership - Paddock Chevrolet in Kenmore, NY, for example - had no loaner fleet two years ago, but now runs a fleet of 50 vehicles. Multiply that by the 4,000 or so dealers GM has across America and you're talking about the potential for hundreds of thousands of these sorts of sales.
