Up For Auction is a 1967 Corvette Convertible equipped with both tops . The car was originally a small block car and was converted to big block some time ago . The car was in storage from 1984 until this year. It was registered just to sell it . Then the car was sold due to lack of knowledge and interest. The story I was told was that the flywheel is the wrong one and that is why the drive shaft is out . It needs a counter weight on the flywheel can be purchased from Jegs or your local speed shop or purchase a 454 flywheel. And the intake was then changed from the cast iron one to an aluminum one but was never installed with gaskets, so it only has a few bolts holding it in place. The motor is a 1972 454 with very few miles Dated D-12-72. I pulled both valve covers and it is spotless inside. The Muncie 4-speed is a 660 last three digits and I think is dated 72 like the motor.  The chassis has been cleaned and painted and needs to be plumed with gas line and brake lines. Has new front stabilizer bushings, hangers ETC. The car still retains the spare tire carrier, jack & jack handle. The glass is all original with the exception of the windshield which is a new shaded tinted from PPG which is only sitting in place and will be taped in with Gorilla tape for transport. It will need a gasket and lower clips to be installed . Under the hood it will need all the accessories  like belts, hoses, pulleys, plug wires, fan, fan shroud etc. The interior is pretty nice and complete with the exception of carpet set and I would go with new seat covers . The gauge cluster was out when I received the car. The owner was going to purchase a big block unit but never did.I just screwed it in place with out hooking up the wires. The new owner can decide which way to go with that. The head light motors were removed for what reason I do not know.  They appear to look fine . All the windshield stainless is in good condition and comes with the car. The side exhaust is in nice condition and all hooked up . Mileage says 51,822. I believe it is true due to the amount of time it has been off the road. The bird cage is really nice with just very light surface rust where paint is not present. Trim tag reads :
J O 1
Style   467                                               Body  A-3327
Trim   414                                                Paint   972
The car has the 6" Rally Wheels Center Caps And Trim Rings. Tires are old and dry rotted but all hold air. The car has a light coat of primmer as half the car was stripped of paint primmer was applied to protect it .  The car is being sold with No Warranties Implied Or Otherwise And Is Sold In As Is Condition.  Transporting The Vehicle Is The Buyers Responsibility And Expense. I will help loading on my end. A $1,000 Non-Refundable Deposit is Due In 48 HRS of Auction Ending Through Pay Pal and Balance is Due In Seven Days Of Auction Ending, NO Exceptions . If picking up in person CASH ONLY.  If having a Transporter Picking it up then we can discuss that ahead of time... Check, Bank Transfer ETC.

VW, Jeep and Cadillac top list of most-tattooed car brands

Tue, Oct 6 2020

Most car enthusiasts own at least one piece of gear with their favorite brand's logo on it. It can be a T-shirt, a pen, a hat, or a garage sign, for example. It takes a much greater degree of dedication to get a car-themed tattoo, and a study suggests this sky-scraping level of obsession is most often found in Volkswagen, Jeep, and Cadillac fans. Compare the Market analyzed Instagram hashtags and posts to compile a list of the most commonly tattooed brands. Volkswagen came out on top, with 5,507 posts; note that anything related to the Wolfsburg-based brand earns it a point, whether it's a logo, a cutaway diagram of the Beetle's air-cooled flat-four engine, or a Touareg V10's firing order. Jeep finished second with 2,139 posts, followed by Cadillac at 1,775 posts. Surprisingly, the fourth spot is occupied by Pontiac, which appeared in 1,609 posts in spite of the fact that it hasn't built a car since 2010. Holden appears near the very bottom of the top-20 chart, ahead of Lamborghini, and its result might be influenced by the fact that General Motors announced plans to shutter it earlier in 2020. BMW and Mercedes-Benz are in sixth and 12th place, respectively. Alfa Romeo doesn't appear in the top 20, though its decades-old Quadrifoglio logo (pictured) can easily be mistaken for a symbol of Irish luck. Searching for posts that show a tattoo of a specific model uncovered even bigger surprises. According to the same study, the most-tattoed nameplate is the Chevrolet Impala, which appears in 823 posts. Odds are the earlier generations, like Dr. Dre's famous six-four, are more often tattooed than the final-generation model, which unceremoniously went out of production in February 2020 without a direct replacement waiting in the wings. Second place goes to the DeLorean DMC-12, which has transcended its status as an esoteric fiasco on wheels thanks to its role as a time machine in "Back to the Future." It appeared in 800 posts. Chevrolet's Corvette takes a distant third with 180 posts, followed by the Volkswagen Beetle (147 posts) and the Mini Cooper (116 posts). All told, car-themed tattoos are relatively rare. To put some of the aforementioned numbers into context, searching Instagram for the hashtag Volkswagen yields over 15 million posts, while the hashtag tattoo appears in over three million publications. Hoons off-road in a lowrider Monte Carlo in latest Roadkill video

Wed, May 6 2015

Specialization keeps the automotive world interesting because it creates all sorts of fun niches. For example, if you like hot rods, you can dive deep into the world of rat rods or just focus on cars with a more traditional look. In some cases the myriad styles don't mix very well, of course, and the folks at Roadkill are proving that on video by attempting to take a lowrider Chevrolet Monte Carlo from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on dirt. As you might expect, forcing a lowrider off-road doesn't go well, but the stunt makes for a great chronicle of dumb, automotive fun. Other than some repairs to get the Monte Carlo roadworthy, the only modification here is a set of knobby tires to achieve at least a modicum of traction on the loose rocks. Although, no matter what they do, at the even lowest speeds the hosts inside are still bounced around like they're in an inflatable castle at a kid's birthday party. Still, the guys are clearly amused by it all.

GM workers in Oshawa walk out in protest of plant closure

Mon, Nov 26 2018

TORONTO/MONTREAL – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday expressed his "deep disappointment" in General Motors' decision to close its Oshawa plant, a move Canadian officials only learned about on Sunday and which led workers to walk off the job on Monday. GM said the closure affects a total of 2,973 assembly line jobs. GM's total employment in Canada is 8,150 direct jobs. Workers in the Unifor trade union walked out of the Oshawa plant "in protest," ahead of a meeting with GM about the announcement, a union spokeswoman said. "I've moved my family twice for this company and they do this to me," a tearful worker told CBC TV as he left the plant. Currently, the Oshawa plant builds the Cadillac XTS and Chevy Impala sedans. Under Unifor's four-year contract signed in 2016, GM must give the union a year's notice before closing the plant. The automaker intends to close the plant in December, 2019. A 2015 study commissioned by Unifor, which represents GM employees, estimated that shutting the plant would eliminate 4,100 direct jobs and reduce Ontario's gross domestic product by C$1.1 billion. But Jerry Dias, president of Unifor, said the move amounts to a breach of the automaker's contract with its employees. "We have a collective agreement that says they're not closing any of our facilities ... so we will do anything by any means to make sure that they live up to their word," Dias said at a news conference. Dias said the contract between Unifor and the company forbids GM from closing any of its Canadian plants during the contract period, which ends in September 2020. "They are not closing our damn plant without one hell of a fight." Canadian officials promised to aid auto workers affected by the 2019 closure, part of a wider restructuring by the automaker that will cut production of slow-selling models and slash its North American workforce. "I spoke with GM (CEO) Mary Barra to express my deep disappointment in the closure," Trudeau tweeted on Monday. "We'll do everything we can to help the families affected by this news get back on their feet." GM workers have been part of the heart and soul of Oshawa for generations - and we'll do everything we can to help the families affected by this news get back on their feet. Yesterday, I spoke with @GM's Mary Barra to express my deep disappointment in the closure.
