1962 Chevrolet Corvette on 2040-cars

62 Corvette with custom period correct white coves that were done at great expense by arguably the best painter in
Western Washington. As most would know the 1962 corvettes did not have painted coves but I found the contrast of
the same color white paint used in C1s and the Roman Red a fantastic look. Engine is a pro-built 394 HP 350 (74
block) that sounds amazing (cam) and can go anywhere. Doesn't overheat, has Eklers front end, had new synchros put
in this summer so it shifts great. No drips, paint is good but not show quality except for coves which are
exquisite. Hard top
is in very good condition. Interior shows very well, seats, carpet, etc all very good. Windows and windshield
perfect, car cruises so you could drive it all day yet if compelled can push your ridcage in after 3000 RPM.
Engine has less than 6k on it, speedo turned when engine was pulled and replaced per previous owner. Has original
Wonderbar radio but it drops out when you hit a bump and goes back on when you hit another.Everything works but
clock, not even sure it's connected right as it has a battery disconnect that I use all the time.Glad to answer any
questions. Original wheels with period correct tires, comes with new extra set with new cragars. This is a 55 year
old car and is sold as is but I truly recommend if interested send someone to evaluate and test drive before
purchase. Corvette repair/restoration raves on how nice it drives.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
