I HAVE FOR SALE A REALLY NICE 1972 CHEVROLET CHEYENNE 20 SUPER, THIS IS AN ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA TRUCK THAT WAS RECENTLY BROUGHT TO IDAHO. IT HAS THE CALIFORNIA
BUILD CODE ON THE BUILD SHEET. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND CARBURETOR. IT HAS POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THE TRUCK IS NEARLY RUST FREE WITH JUST SOME MINOR RUST IN THE BED. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE FLOOR PANS, ROCKERS OR FRAME BRACES. IT STILL HAS THE DUAL FUEL TANKS WITH FUEL FILLERS ON BOTH SIDES AND TANK SWITCH ON THE FLOOR.
THE TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY, NICE TIGHT STEERING, GOOD BRAKES, SHIFTS PERFECTLY, NO OIL LEAKS, NO EXHAUST LEAKS AND NO TICKS OR TAPS.
THE UPHOLSTERY IS NEW WITH THE FACTORY CORRECT GRAIN AND PATTERN, IT IS THE CORRECT ORIGINAL COLOR. THE CARPETS, DASH PAD, ROCKER MOLDINGS AND WINDSHIELD ARE ALSO NEW. I HAVE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR YET TO MOUNT. ALL THE GAUGES AND LIGHTS WORK, THE HEATER AND BLOWER ARE WORKING, ONLY THE HORN IS NOT WORKING.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war
Sun, 30 Dec 2012A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
