Hello,

Up for auction is this totally unique 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. This vehicle was a complete frame-off restoration and was completed approximately 3 months ago. The vehicle only has been driven 500 miles since the completion. This is a California car that was in great condition that didn't need any rust repair. The body was straight and solid before the restoration. Below is a list of work/parts that were done:

  • Paint is true white pearl metallic will pink pearl metallic racing stripes
  • Rebuilt 454 engine, .30 bore, 30/30 crank (steel) - very healthy street motor. Vehicle NEVER overheats in-town, in traffic or on the highway.
  • Rebuilt 400 turbo transmission, shift kit, kick-down delete, stall
  • All dress-up parts are billet aluminum, not chrome
  • MSD 6AL ignition box, pro billet MSD distributor
  • Edelbrock 750 CFM carburetor
  • Edelbrock Intake
  • I DID IT steering column and shafts
  • CCP 2 to 1 gearbox
  • CCP tubular upper and lower control arms
  • Wilwood slotted and drilled rotors and calipers
  • Be Cool aluminum 4-core radiator and fan set-up
  • 3 in flowmaster stainless steel exhaust
  • Flowmaster stainless steel headers
  • American Racing heels 20' X 8.5 front, 22' X 9.5 rear
  • All new weather stripping, trim, grill, etc. Nothing is used on this vehicle.
  • Original steel cowl hood
  • Shaved firewall
  • Complete air ride system. This is a top on the line system. All wheels can be aired up separately. Vehicle ride like a Cadillac!
  • All custom interior including an all fiberglass dash
  • Custom stereo system with Rockford fosgate speakers
  • And a lot more! The list go's on and on!

I built this vehicle for my, now, ex-wife. Luckily, it wasn't completed before my divorce (haha). The photos do not do this vehicle any justice. You have to see this paint job in person. This vehicle has been to 3 car shows recently and has won 1st place twice and 3rd place once. Awards go with the vehicle. Again, you will not believe how nice this hot rod drives!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me (Jerry) at 1-563-219-3014. Thank you.

Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet. GM recalls trucks and SUVs for brake pedal problem

Thu, Feb 11 2016

The Basics: General Motors will recall over 473,000 North American examples of the 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and police pursuit versions of the Chevy Tahoe. These include 426,573 vehicles in the US and 46,837 in Canada, according to Reuters. The Problem: The brake pivot nut can loosen over time, which can render the pedal inoperative. This would be a danger to drivers trying to stop the vehicles. In some cases, the "Service Engine Soon" light might come on. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt, and if necessary they will apply adhesive to it and reinstall the part with increased torque. If You Own One: "We expect to start customer notifications shortly," GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog. Related Video: Transport Canada Recall # 2016053 Recall Date 2016/02/04 Notification Type Safety Mfr System Brakes Manufacturer Recall Number 20760 Units Affected The number of vehicles or components affected by the recall. 46,837 Category Light Truck & Van, SUV Recall Details On certain Heavy Duty and Police Pursuit vehicles, the brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. If the brake pedal becomes loose or inoperative, it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, and/or the driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle through application of the brake pedal, potentially affecting stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, the dealer will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque. Note: This condition may result in the "Service Engine Soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected. Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
