1969 Chevelle SS 396 Original fathom green with black vinyl top.  Super nice car except for a few minor problems.  The car shows 61,000 miles which I believe to be original but do not have proof otherwise.  The car has A/C that's been changed to the new freon, power brakes, disc up front, power steering, rally gauges that all work properly,  the interior is factory fresh with bucket seats and console with SS door panel's & the factory floor mats, turbo 400 automatic, 12 bolt rear end, very nice factory SS wheels with low milage tires.  It even has the original T-3 headlights!  The under side & chrome bumper is in very good condition!  The floor pans, exhaust, gas tank all look very nice!  The car drives unbelievable for a 44 year old car!  The problems include light bubbling under the vinyl top & one nickel size bubble on the driver's side lower quarter.  It may need a new set of valve seals,  due to a light puff of smoke at idle on driver's side.  The paint has a lot of shine but by no means a show car, has a few normal scratches & chips.

The car is overall very presentable but I am just VERY picky!  The other problem is that I have no documentation of the cars history but I have been desperately trying to get it.  The car will be sold with bill of sale only, Alabama requires bill of sale only for cars before 1974.    From what I can tell it has a 73-80 model 454 motor which would not be the original engine.  I will try & show pictures of everything I can but overall the car is really nice!  The only reason for selling is that I need money to finish a pool project!  Any questions call or text Sonny (205) 643-0184  If I had documentation the value of the car would be double!  Here's your chance to get a steal!

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
