This is a very nice 1968 Chevelle SS in the factory ash gold with black vinyl. This is a real SS car with a 138 vin code. Original options included a 350hp 396ci engine and turbo 400 transmission. Now it has a zz502 crate motor with a tremec t-56 6 speed. It runs and drives perfect, still has the air conditioning and is in great shape. Small rear main leak and small coolant leak from the intake manifold gasket. Fresh tune up. Original options included power disc brakes, power steering, door edge guards, front an rear bumper guards, outside remote control mirror vinyl roof, rally wheels, air conditioning, console, light monitoring system mounted on fenders, am radio, bucket seats, speed warning indicator, stripes on side, positraction rear axle, rear superlift shock absorbers adjustable air, special front and rear suspension, seat belts. I am the third owner. I have documentation and receipts which are really cool to have. For example I have a letter from John Smith Co. where the car was originally bought to the buyers thanking them for their business (copy), I also have a copy of the original build sheet. Feel free to contact me for more information and I will try to answer as accurately as possible. Clean title in hand. Open to trades but must have similar value. Feel free to call me at 720-333-0940 for more information or if you would like certain pictures. My reserve is set very fairly for a car that is this heavily optioned. The first owner and his wife owned the vehicle until he passed. The second owner bought the car from his wife but she wouldn't even let him drive the car. She insisted that she drives and if he likes the car that he can buy it of which I have pictures from the day he bought it. I have owned the car for about two years and it has brought great enjoyment. I even took it up over independence pass. This car has never left me stranded. Happy bidding car is located in Denver, CO and I can show it by appt.

On Apr-29-14 at 15:33:23 PDT, seller added the following information:

I wanted to ad in that bidders with no feedback need to contact me prior or I will cancel their bids. This engine eats a little bit of oil which is very common in the ZZ502 platform. It is rated at 502hp and 570 torque so this thing is quite fun to drive and sounds incredible with the hooker headers. The clock doesn't function. It has a great stereo consisting of a 6 cd changer with boston acoustics speakers in the kick panels and by the rear window. I would probably get a new deck with an iPod/aux input if I was to keep the car longer. The 95k miles shown on the odo is not known if it is actual miles so I will say the miles are unknown.

The best Super Bowl car commercials from the last 5 years

Wed, Jan 28 2015

If you've been dipping into the Autoblog feed over the past days and weeks, you wouldn't even have to be a sports fan to know the Super Bowl is coming up. Automakers have been teasing their spots for the big game, dropping them days early, fully-formed onto the Internet and otherwise trying to amp up the multi-million-dollar outlays that they've made for air time on the biggest advertising day of the year. And, we're into it. The lead up to the Super Bowl is almost akin to a mini auto show around these parts; with automakers being amongst the most prolific advertisers on these special Sundays. The crop of ads from 2015 looks as strong as ever, but we thought we'd take a quick look back at some of our favorite spots from the last five years. Take a look at our picks – created from a very informal polling of Autoblog editors and presented in no particular order – and then tell us about your recent faves, in Comments. Chrysler, Imported From Detroit Chrysler, Eminem and a lingering pan shot of "The Fist" – it doesn't get much more Motown than 2011's Imported From Detroit. With the weight of our staffers hailing from in and around The D, it's no wonder that our memories still favor this epic Super Bowl commercial (even though the car it was shilling was crap). Imported really set the tone for later Chrysler ads, too, repeated the formula: celebrity endorsement + dramatic copy + dash of jingoism = pulled car-guy heartstrings. Mercedes-Benz, Soul teaser with Kate Upton One of our favorite Super Bowl commercials (and yours, based on the insane number of views you logged) didn't even technically air during the game. Mercedes-Benz teased its eventual spot Soul with 90-seconds worth of Kate Upton threatening to do her best Joy Harmon impression. (Teaser indeed.) It doesn't win points for cleverness, use of music, acting, or any compelling carness, but it proved that Mercedes' advertisers knew how to make a splash in the Internet Age. And, hey, it's still classier than every GoDaddy commercial. Kia, A Dream Car. For Real Life Like the Mercedes video above, the initial draw here is a pretty lady; in this case the always stunning Adriana Lima. But this Kia commercial really delivers the extra effort we expect while scarfing crabby snacks and homemades, too. First of all, Motley Crue. Second, a cowboy on a bucking rhino. Enjoy yet again.

Chevy already offering discounts on 2016 Volt

Tue, Oct 20 2015

The second-generation Chevrolet Volt has a longer range than the first-generation version, but General Motors doesn't appear to want to take any chances of the extended-range plug-in not being well-received. The US automaker is already offering some cash incentives to make sure the 2016 Volt moves briskly. In fact, GM is offering incentives worth up to $1,000 through November 2 in some states, Green Car Reports says, citing CarsDirect. Most of the country won't get the second-generation Volt until next year, so GM is looking to keep all potential buyers satisfied. That means perks for folks in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont - the states where the new 2016 Volt will go on sale first. Buyers can pick up another $500 in incentives by luring a non GM-vehicle owner into buying a new Volt. And then, of course, there's the $7,500 federal-government perk, in addition to any goodies your particular state will throw in via tax breaks. For everyone else, GM is offering as much as $2,500 off the 2015 model year Volt. The 2016 Volt has an MSRP of $33,995, which is actually slightly less than the $34,170 sticker price on the 2015 model. The new version has a 53-mile all-electric range, 15 miles longer than the first-generation Volt. With a lower price and more electric miles, GM hopes to reverse falling Volt sales. Through September, GM sold 9,264 Volts, down 36 percent from a year earlier. You can read our First Drive impressions of the 2016 Volt here. 2016 Chevy Camaro leaked on CNBC

Fri, May 15 2015

It seemed inevitable. Eventually some outlet would get access to fully uncovered pictures of the sixth-generation 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and let them loose early. Embargoes break. All. The. Time. And for this round, credit goes to CNBC's Squawk Box. The program, according to the GM Inside News forums, had been talking about the new Camaro "all morning," when it dropped a trio of images of the new muscle car. Consider this, then, our first full look at the 2016 Camaro, a car we detailed extensively earlier this morning. In general, the leaked images confirm much of what we discussed in that post regarding the car's looks – an evolved style, with a slim grille up front, a rounded tail, and a very short rear deck. Check out the leaked images, give our Camaro round-up a read, and strap in for tomorrow's big Camaro reveal.
