I have for bids a 1965 Chevelle SS. This is an original SS. This Car had a Frame off restoration. This Car was stripped including the Interior, Fenders, Doors, Hood, Trunk Lid, Axle, Shocks, Steering, Brakes, etc. The Engine was removed, taken apart and inspected for any worn parts and reassembled. The 2 Speed Transmission was disassembled and checked for worn parts and reassembled. It has been painted about 3 1/2 years. This Car was in storage since 1989 and when I bought this car 4 years ago it was completely torn down at that time. That is when I decided to do the restoration. The Frame was Bead Blasted, Primed and Painted. The undercarriage was Bead Blasted, primed and Painted. The Doors, Hood, Trunk Lid and Fenders were Bead Blasted, Primed and Painted. I installed some "New" Chrome where needed. It has Front Disk Brakes & the Original Power Steering. I installed all "New" Seats, Carpet and Head Liner. The Interior was also painted. It has the Original Gauges which work. It has the Original Radio which works. It has the Original Console and 2 speed shifter. It has the Original Clock but it does not work. It has Factory Air Conditioning but it stopped working last summer. It was checked and it has a pinhole in the line under the Passenger Fender. Their is a weld seam going across the Trunk Floor about 3 inches above the floor. This was done before I bought the Car. I do not know why because the Truck Floor looks original. I drove this car approximately 400 miles in the past year. The Speedometer is the original for this car and has not been tampered with since I have owned it. I believe it to be the original mileage since it was in storage for a long time. This Car might not be perfect but it is a lot nicer then 95% of the Cars that I see for sale that are selling for a lot more than what I am asking. I am selling this Car "ONLY" because my Wife has health issues and this is what made me decide to see it. Besides this I am well past retirement age and my wife and I do not go to many shows anymore. This is NOT a must sell so if I do not get a "Reasonable" price it will stay where it is. Please call me at 1-717-586-1989 for any questions or if you want to see it. I do not answer emails or text messages. thanks for looking. I am sure I have overlooked something but it is not intentional. Please come and look at the Car and decide if this is what you want. I will not say what the reserve is because it is not fair to the next bidder.. If you come and look at it and make a reasonable offer it will be sold.

GM to idle car production at five factories as Americans continue CUV love affair
Mon, Dec 19 2016In case you needed another reminder that Americans have fallen out of love with sedans, General Motors today announced plans to idle five factories in January in a bid to cut its inventory to 70 days. Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly ( Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Impala) and Fairfax Assembly in Kansas ( Chevy Malibu) will stop production for three weeks. Lansing Grand River ( Cadillac ATS and CTS, and Chevy Camaro) is going down for two weeks, while Lordstown, OH ( Chevy Cruze) and Bowling Green, KY ( Chevy Corvette) will go idle for a week each, Automotive News reports. GM's shutdown reflects a broader problem with the company's supply – at 847,000 vehicles, the company's supply increased unsteadily from a low of 629,000 units in January of 2016. That's more than a 25 percent increase in the past year. Citing information from Autodata, The Detroit News reports that at the end of November, GM had a 168-day supply of LaCrosses, 177 days' worth of Camaro, 170 days of Corvette, 121 days for Cruze, 119 days for ATS, 132 days for CTS, and 110 days of CT6. Meanwhile, inventory of the company's more popular vehicles is actually below the professionally accepted 60- to 70-day supply, The News reports. The Trax, Colorado pickup, and GM's full-size SUVs are sitting below 50 days and experiencing year-over-year sales increases. GM needs a rethink of its inventory levels, which is something that's apparently coming. "We're going to be responsible in managing our inventory levels," GM spokesman Jim Cain told The News. Another unnamed spokesman told Automotive News the company's day-to-day supplies would "fluctuate before moderating at year-end." But at least one analyst thinks this won't be the last time Detroit needs to stop production to level things out. "Incentives are elevated, residuals are declining, and rates are rising," Brian Johnson, an analyst with Barclays, told The News. "And while GM in particular may benefit in the months ahead from new product launches, it's important to recognize that GM's inventory is elevated at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise us if they need to announce another production cut – which could pressure the stock." What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?
Thu, Feb 5 2015The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.
Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
