It has a new battery, wiper blades, and headlights. New struts installed 6000 miles ago. Tires have 12,000 miles on them. This has been a well maintained vehicle with oil changes every 3000, the brake fluid has been flushed, fuel filter changed, fuel system/injectors cleaned, front end alignment etc. Very low mile vehicle that has been well maintained. Under carriage is very clean. Very solid and quiet. Doubt you can find any car with only 50,000 miles on it for under $12,000. This car should have at least 125,000 or more miles to go. The car has some very minor blemishes here and there but nothing that jumps out at you. Looks as good in person as it does in the pictures!
On Aug-25-14 at 07:46:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Have had several questions. The title is free and clear, no liens like vehicle report says. Reason we are selling is this car was a high school graduation gift for our son. He immediately went into the Navy and is stationed in Japan for the next 3 years. He wants us to sell and bank the money for him when he needs a car. Blemishes: you can see one on the driver front fender by the headlight. There are some minor scratches here and there and couple real small dings that are more like small impressions with no sharp angles to them. You can hardly see them and you really need to be at the right angle to see them, there is a little bit of the clearcoat coming off by the trunk lid. About a 1/2" wide strip. With that said, the car is 11 years old but is very nice looking and above average, I cannot imagine you will be disappointed. |

GM forced to cut truck production amid semiconductor shortage
Thu, Jul 22 2021WASHINGTON — General Motors said Wednesday it will cut some truck production in North America because of the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. The largest U.S. automaker said its Flint Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks will operate on one production shift the week of July 26. GM said its Ft. Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana that builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 model trucks will be idled next week. GM's Silao Assembly plant in Mexico that also builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cheyenne (for the Mexico market) and GMC Sierra 1500 will also suspend production next week. All three plants are expected to resume regular production the week of August 2. Related video:
Next-gen GMC Sierra spied with diesel power
Tue, Sep 5 2017The next generation of GM trucks is arriving soon, and we're expecting a huge leap forward over the current lineup. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC SIerra sell extremely well, but haven't done much to move the segment forward in a long time. The Ford F-150 has an all-aluminum body and turbocharged V6 power. The Ram 1500 gained a diesel and coil spring suspension. These spy shots show that diesel may be in the cards for GM. Some quick shots and copious use of flash show what is most likely a tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a diesel particulate filter, both necessary equipment for any modern diesel. It's unclear what form factor that engine will come in, though GM has a number of engines to choose from, including the 2.8-liter inline four that's found in the Colorado and Canyon, though that may be a little light duty for the Silverado and Sierra. Other rumors surrounding the trucks suggest a move to an aluminum cab while retaining a steel bed. That seems like a reasonable move for GM, even if the company was attempting to shame Ford for its move to aluminum a few years ago. Look for more news as early as the Detroit Auto Show in January. Junkyard Gem: 1987 Chevrolet Turbo Sprint
Sun, Feb 6 2022Fifteen years ago, I wrote my first-ever automotive article under the name Murilee Martin, and it didn't take me long to start writing about one of my favorite automotive subjects: the junkyard. Before I'd refined my system for documenting discarded vehicles, however, I shot a lot of boneyard photos that never got used. For today's Junkyard Gem, I have four shots from early 2007 of one of the rarest turbocharged machines of the 1980s: the Chevrolet Turbo Sprint. The Chevrolet Sprint was really a rebadged Suzuki Cultus, from the pre-Geo era when General Motors sold the Isuzu Gemini as the Chevrolet Spectrum, the Daewoo LeMans as the Pontiac LeMans and the Toyota Corolla as the Chevrolet Nova (soon enough, the Spectrum became a Geo, and the Nova became the Prizm). The second-generation Cultus appeared in 1988, becoming the Geo Metro on our shores the following year. The Turbo Sprint was available for just the last two years of the Sprint's 1985-1988 American sales run, and it appears that just a couple of thousand were sold; if I'd known at the time just how rare they were, I'd have shot more photos of this one at the now-defunct Hayward Pick Your Part. The turbocharged 993cc three-cylinder produced 70 horsepower, 22 better than the naturally-aspirated version. Since the Turbo Sprint weighed just 1,620 pounds (that's about 500 pounds lighter than a barely more powerful '22 Mitsusbishi Mirage), it was plenty of fun to drive. For 1988, the regular Sprint hatchback cost $6,380 while the Turbo Sprint listed at $8,240 (that's about $15,375 and $19,855 today, respectively). Believe it or not, a Turbo Sprint actually raced in the 24 Hours of Lemons 10 years ago, though it didn't end well. This ad is for the regular Cultus, not the Cultus Turbo, but the screaming guitars sound reasonably turbocharged. For the most part, Chevy Sprint marketing was all about cheap purchase price and stingy fuel economy… at a time when gasoline prices were cratering. Related Video:
