They are still out there..... Barn finds, original drivers. This one is an original driver. Needs restoration of course, but it's a car you can drive to work & restore it on your driveway or in the garage. I bought it about four months ago intending to do just that, but i experienced some health problems & i need to let it go.
139 k miles, 45 years, & it looks like it's had a lot of care. Quadrajet on a 327, engine numbers match, turbo 350 transmission, power windows, tilt wheel, a/c (updated to 134a), power steering, power brakes. It runs great, shifts good, no rattles, noises or diving or jerking. The engine is pretty much noisesless, no lifter rattle, but it does smoke now, a condition i'm attributing to the car sitting for four months. It didn't smoke when i bought it & drove it about six miles. I'm thinking it need valve seals replaced. Oh yes, it does have the double hump castings on the heads.
As you can see, although it does have some surface rusting on the right front fender & around the the rear glass frame, it is remarkably rust free. Floorpans & everything underneath is rust free, also. Looks like it had a repaint of original color twenty or thirty years ago. There is body damage to the tops of the rear fenders i tried to bring out in the pix, not serious, but it probably brought about the repaint when it was repaired. At this point bondo is chipping & flaking off these areas. I consider it not serious taking into account this car will most certainly receive a new paint job at some point with it's new owner. The interior is all original, but it is sunbaked & the fabric on the seats is deteriorating & crumbling.
Power windows work fine, & aside from the crumbly interior, it's a real joy to drive. Starts easy, (gotta pump it ), has plenty of power, does not overheat. One more thing, it has the original owners manual & protect o plate "credit card".
Now for the business stuff. $500 is due within 48 hrs of the end of auction, & balance will be wired to my bank account. Or you can show up with the balance in cash & a flatbed truck & i'll give you the car & the clear title. Absolutely no cashiers checks. Transport & delivery is the responsibility of the buyer. If you would like to talk in person, contact me through the ebay message system & i'll send my cel phone number.

GM forced to cut truck production amid semiconductor shortage
Thu, Jul 22 2021WASHINGTON — General Motors said Wednesday it will cut some truck production in North America because of the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. The largest U.S. automaker said its Flint Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks will operate on one production shift the week of July 26. GM said its Ft. Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana that builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 model trucks will be idled next week. GM's Silao Assembly plant in Mexico that also builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cheyenne (for the Mexico market) and GMC Sierra 1500 will also suspend production next week. Texas cops pull armed suspect from burning car
Fri, Jul 29 2016A high-speed chase through Fort Worth, Texas ended in dramatic fashion earlier this month when FWPD pulled armed burglary suspects from the burning wreckage of their escape vehicle. According to NBC DFW, Fort Worth police were dispatched to Avington Way on the evening of July 16 to investigate reports of a burglary. The burglary victim told police he had arrived home to find three individuals hauling his property out of his house. When he approached them, one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and told him to stay back. Then all three suspects climbed into a silver Dodge Avenger and sped away. FWPD officers spotted the Avenger a short time later on Sycamore School Road and, after the car refused to pull over, the chase was on. Police chased the burglary suspects through the city at speeds approaching 100 mph until the Avenger blew a red light and was t-boned by an oncoming pickup at the intersection of California Parkway and James Avenue. As the pursuing officers closed in on the disabled car, it suddenly caught fire. One suspect bailed out and ran for it, but the remaining two were trapped inside with the flames quickly mounting. Despite the spreading fire and the threat of armed suspects in the vehicle, police officers rushed to pull the men from the wreck. The driver was removed easily, but the passenger was unconscious and trapped behind a crushed passenger door. The scene was caught on the officers' body cameras as they pried the door open with their bare hands. Eventually the officers got the semi-conscious man out of the passenger seat just as the car was completely engulfed in flames. "It was pretty dramatic. We recruit people that can think on the fly, think quickly, and perform under pressure," FWPD Sergeant Marc Povero told WFAA. All three suspects are facing charges for burglary, and the driver was charged with evading arrest. Recharge Wrap-up: Phoenix Cars delivers ZEUS to Navy, Volt saves gas compared to i-MiEV
Thu, Apr 23 2015Phoenix Cars has delivered its first Zero Emissions Utility Shuttle (ZEUS) flatbed truck to the US Navy. The electric flatbed will be used to transport maintenance materials around Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. The Phoenix ZEUS features a 100-mile range, and can charge in just three hours. It also features vehicle-to-grid technology and direct power capability, allowing it to function as a mobile power station. ZEUS customers enjoy an eight-year/300,000-mile battery warranty and round-the-clock technical support from Phoenix. Phoenix launched an electric passenger shuttle last year, and years ago worked on an electric sport utility truck before shifting over to larger vehicles. Read more in the press release from Phoenix Cars. A man found that he used less gas by trading in his Mitsubishi i-MiEV for a Chevrolet Volt. Ben Rich saved fuel in part by using his Volt for road trips rather than needing to rent cars. Rich also found other benefits to driving a Volt, including more comfort, more freedom of movement and less range anxiety. Rich often had to turn off the heat in the winter to eke out precious miles in the Mitsubishi, which he needn't do in the Chevy, though he did have a gripe about the Volt using the gas motor to warm the car. ChargePoint has tallied over 9 million charging sessions for a total of 65 gigawatt hours of energy. Based on national efficiency averages of three miles per kWh and 23.9 miles per gallon, this has saved 8.2 million gallons of gasoline and 60 million pounds of CO2. This accounts for what ChargePoint calls a "huge environmental impact." Read more in the release from ChargePoint below. The Environmental Impact of ChargePoint Drivers Campbell, Calif.– We all know electric vehicles (EV) have enormous environmental advantages over gas vehicles. Plug-in EVs reduce carbon-based greenhouse gases, improve air quality and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. EV drivers on the ChargePoint network have had a huge environmental impact. With over 9 million charging sessions delivering 65 gigawatt hours of energy, EV drivers have avoided over 60 million pounds of CO2 and 8.2 million gallons of gasoline, and driven over 196 million gas-free miles. *Based on national averages: EV efficiency of 3 miles per kWh, gas efficiency of 23.9 mpg and a net savings of 0.924 pounds of CO2 per kWh.
