THIS IS A NICE CAPRICE CLASSIC WITH A LOT OF EXTRAS. CAR WAS ORIGINALLY A 4.3 V6, AND HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO A 5.7 350 COMPLETE WITH WORKING A/C. CAR IS IN GOOD MECHANICAL SHAPE AND RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. HAS FREE FLOW EXHAUST THAT SOUNDS GOOD TOO. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS OUT AS IT SHOULD. BRAKES ARE GOOD BUT A LITTLE TOUCHY AT FIRST. THE 350 ENGINE IS STRONG WITH NO SMOKE OR NOISES AT ALL. PULLS HARD, PLENTY OF POWER. HAS 2012 24" WHEELS AND TIRES THAT ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. INTERIOR IS IN FAIR CONDITION, FRONT DRIVERS SEAT HAS SOME TEARS. A COUPLE OF THE DOOR PANELS ARE MISSING THE ARMREST PADS. HAS SEVERAL ELECTRONIC GOODIES: FLIP OUT CD/DVD HEAD UNIT IN DASH, FLIP DOWN TV IN HEADLINER, BACK UP CAMERA AND KEYLESS ENTRY // ALARM SYSTEM. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
