1968 Chevy Caprice Restoration Project, Minimum Input For Maximum Output on 2040-cars
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Where to start? Second Owner. This vehicle has been in my possession since 1992. It was driven only from 1992-1994. My father passed away in 1993, and this was his vehicle so technically he passed it down to me/inherited. Since then it has been kept in a series of garages, most recently and presently in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota 5mins north of Minneapolis,MN. The last time I drove the vehicle was the summer of 2010. This is also the last time I worked on the vehicle in attempt to get it driving. I just have not been fortunate enough to have the money to put in to it and it is unfortunate because with the right mechanic and just a few grand this car will be a treat for who ever is the owner. It is a restoration project. The exterior of the vehicle is steel, has only one minor dent in the front siding by the drivers headlight. It has rust but not major at all, minor spots on hood close to windshield. Very confident that the right mechanic can get it started and running today with some savvy know how and the current parts and a jump. This car is a steal, I just do not have the means. It also has sentimental value because it was my deceased fathers hence the reason I've held off selling it and another reason its been hard to part with/price. Honestly the car is in my family garage behind a few other vehicles so I have not been able to take any exterior photos, and the rear seat of the interior is filled with old tires from my families various vehicles so I was able to take pictures of the front seats and dash. Its a 2 door hardtop currently a light green, same as interior. This car is a boat, very long, sturdy, wide, strong. Its the perfect combo of american muscle mixed with west coast lowrider. Throughout the years Ive had many offers on the vehicles just from passers by when it was out in the yard back in 10' and even before then ever since, lots of family friends make offers but they dont stand on them so I am giving Ebay a shot. You can check as many listings and value charts that are out there. This car in its current shape is every bit worth what I am asking for it. I apologize for not having many photos or good photos at that but the body is original, if you search a 68' Caprice, its just a hassle for me to move two defunct vehicles that are blocking this one in. A rare vehicle, especially in the midwest. It is a full restoration project, but instead of starting out with a shell of a vehicle you get a basically complete vehicle that just needs love and care and matanince to the already car that it is. Has all seats, sidings for interior, had a cd deck in but still have original radio, airplane shifter in between the front seats, cruise control, there's a lot about the vehicle that is nice. Serious BUYERS YOUR INVITED INTO MY GARAGE TO COME AND SEE THE VEHICLE. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PULL OUT UNTIL ALL SNOW IS GONE OR AT A MINIMUM HERE IN MN. HAVE NEVER HAD THE CAR SITTING OUTSIDE DURING ANY WINTER SINCE 1992 WHEN IT WAS DRIVEN. LIKE MANY YOULL BE ASKING ME FOR MORE PICTURES BUT HONESTLY WITH THE CONDITIONS UP HERE IN MINNESOTA I CANNOT PULL IT OUT OF THE GARAGE JUST TO TAKE PICTURES ITS TOO MUCH OF A HASSLE FOR ME, WILL BE ABLE TO ONCE IT WARMS UP HOPEFULLY LATE MID-LATE MARCH AND ITS NOT SNOW STORMING. I DO APOLOGIZE I WAS HOPING TO BE ABLE TO GET MORE SNAPS OF IT IN THE GARAGE BUT ITS NOT A LITE GARAGE.
Completing the sale: Upon Sale, in person, Cash or Transfer into My account through PayPal You will have to come and retrieve the vehicle. Brooklyn Center, Minnesota 55429 |

2018 Woodward Dream Cruise: What to know and where to go
Fri, Aug 17 2018If there's anything that proves Detroit's motor-oil-in-the-veins, gearhead bonafides, it's the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, which will bring an anticipated 1.5 million or so people from near and far, plus tens of thousands of classic and custom and just plain weird cars, to a 16-mile portion of Woodward Avenue on Saturday for the 24th year. Loved by gearheads, collectors and the merely curious, who see it as the Motor City's version of Mardi Gras, and loathed by others, who deride it as the world's largest traffic jam, the Dream Cruise is nothing if not an explosion for the senses. What will you see there? Well, as Autoblog Managing Editor Greg Rasa put it last year, "There are historic cars. And works of art. Some are worth vast sums of money, and some are rat rods and rust buckets. And some are bizarre creations that make you ask, 'What were they thinking?'" A few things are certain: You will see many incredible automobiles. There will be plenty of T-shirts and other merch, official and not-so-much. It will be crowded, and probably hot. The Cruise will officially go from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., though of course cruisers have been out already for weeks. And there are plenty of attractions, both on and off the pavement of Woodward. Tony Michaels, the Dream Cruise's executive director, said the event is special for the Detroit region. "Together we celebrate the automobile and what it has meant to us," he told Autoblog. "To see the these fantastic vehicles and the proud owners says so much about who we are and our pride. "People should take it in to see history running 16 miles down Woodward Avenue and to be a part of the greatest automobile event in America." Ford is once again serving as the Dream Cruise presenting sponsor and will hold the 20th anniversary of the Mustang Alley at the corner of Nine Mile and Woodward in Ferndale, where it expects as many as 1,000 Mustangs to line up. It will also show off its lineage of trucks at 13 Mile, along with several performance vehicles at Duggan's Irish Pub at 31501 Woodward in Royal Oak. The company on Thursday unveiled the 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet drag car to celebrate the nameplate's 50th anniversary. Just 68 examples are planned of the $130,000 limited-edition model Other Ford activities include: Sales of tickets for a raffle of a one-off Kona Blue Mustang Bullitt, starting at the media clubhouse at 2 p.m. Friday. The raffle itself takes place in November and will support juvenile diabetes research.
Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
