2012 Chevrolet Camaro 2ss on 2040-cars
Buffalo Junction, Virginia, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : sharleen.norley@manlymail.net .
For sale is a 2012 Hennessey HPE 650 Camaro. I ordered the Camaro 2SS brand new from a local Chevrolet dealership
in the summer of 2011 and had the car shipped directly from the Chevrolet factory to Hennessey Performance in
Texas. After all modifications were complete at Hennessey I then took custody of the vehicle in December of 2011.
While at Hennessey I had the base HPE 650 package installed on the car (a detailed parts list for this package can
be found on the HPE website.) Additionally, I opted to have a more aggressive tune done on the car which voided
Hennessey's standard 3 year warranty but I wasn't overly concerned about that and the car has run beautifully
anyway. When dynoed in December of 2011 at Hennessey the car made 578 RWHP. Additional modifications done at
Hennessey include: Camaro Carbon Fiber Driveshaft, Driveshaft Shop High Performance Axles, Camaro Chasis Max Brace
by Hotchkis, Hotchkis Camaro Adjustable Sway Bars, Hotchkis Camaro Strut Brace and KW Coilover Suspension Variant 3
which lowered the car approximately 1" and gave it a much more aggressive stance.
Shortly after I received the car back from Hennessey I took it to No Limit Incorporated of Baltimore, MD for wheels
and tires. While the car was still being made I custom ordered four Savini Mono wheels with matte black paint,
20x11 in the rear and 20x10 up front. The wheels are wrapped with Pirelli P Zero tires, 305/35/20 rear and
275/40/20 front. After I had owned the car for about a year I noticed that the paint on the factory body kit was
starting to fade slightly and in my opinion it ruined the lines of the car. After Chevrolet told me that they
wouldn't fix the problem I took the car to D&V Auto Body of Dulles, VA to have the body kit paint re-matched to the
car. The new paint job came out flawless and has not shown any signs of fading due to the high quality paint used.
While the car was at D&V I had Seibon Carbon Fiber front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser installed. I also
had a custom black vinyl racing stripe put on and had all exterior badges removed from the car. At this point the
car still had the original axle back mufflers and it really restricted the unique growl that this engine is capable
of producing. I took the car to Atlantic Autosports of Virginia Beach, VA and had a Magnaflow axle back muffler
delete bolted on to the cat back exhaust that Henessey had already installed. The exhaust note of this vehicle is
extremely loud. Other minor upgrades include an MGW short throw shifter, 35% window tint and a Speedhut SST Max
Shift Light. I also have an unused Burton short throw with white 8ball grip that I will throw in as well.
Since the day I took the car home it has been garaged and has never spent more than a few hours in direct sunlight.
I completed a disciplined break in period and the car has always been thoroughly warmed up before being driven. I
have never drag raced or taken the car out to a track day. I have routinely changed the oil with Mobile One full
synthetic every three months regardless of whether the car has been driven or not. The interior of the car is
completely free of any cosmetic defects and looks and smells new. The exterior of the car has one small blemish on
the passenger side rear view mirror that I have been unable to buff out on my own. It can likely be repaired at an
auto body shop for a couple hundred dollars, I just haven't had the time to do it. I have all of the work orders
for modifications done on the car along with the original dyno chart and some service records, all can be produced
upon request for verification purposes. All said and done the car has nearly 50K invested on top of the price for a
brand new Camaro 2SS (42K). I am selling to free up some funds for another project

Nissan Leaf has 2nd-best sales month ever, Chevy Volt does a 2013 repeat [UPDATE]
Tue, Apr 1 2014UPDATE: The official press release says that "Volt [sales were] up 7 percent," but Randy Fox let AutoblogGreen know that this is simply due to a change in the fleet/retail mix between March 2013 and 2014. The actual number sold was exactly the same in the two months. A month ago, Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, Toby Perry, said he expected to see the Leaf's sales momentum continue into March. It wasn't a big leap, since January and February were slow sales months in 2013 (around 640 each) before a big climb to 2,200 in March. In 2014, the first two months of the year were better (around 1,300 each) but Nissan can still be happy that the Leaf just had the best March ever and its second-highest sales month ever, with 2,507 sold. That's a 12.1 percent increase from 2013 and Perry said in a statement to AutoblogGreen that one reason is all of the buyers who are becoming evangelists for the vehicle. "We've also seen an increase in showroom traffic as we enhanced our marketing presence in March," he said. Nissan pointed to cities like Washington, DC, Raleigh-Durham, NC and urban areas in Texas as strong Leaf markets last month. On the Chevy Volt front, January and February were also slow months in 2014, down roughly half from the 2,000-ish the plug-in hybrid was selling at the end of 2013. For 2014, sales were up slightly from the first two months of the year and Chevy spokesman Randy Fox told AutoblogGreen that the March number was "pretty flat, year-over-year." Even with that warning, we were surprised to see the total come in at 1,478. Why's that? Because the total for March 2013 was ... 1,478. So, yeah, that's pretty steady even if there were 26 selling days in March period this year compared to 27 last year. As always, our more complete report of last month's green car sales will be coming soon. News Source: General Motors, Nissan Green Chevrolet GM Nissan Electric Hybrid PHEV ev sales
Fernando Alonso just misses qualifying for Indy 500 on first day
Sun, May 19 2019Former Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will need a clutch run on Sunday to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 on May 26 after he failed to seal a guaranteed spot on Saturday. The Spaniard tried fives times to put his McLaren Racing Chevrolet in the top 30, but wound up one spot short. He can make the 33-car field only through a six-car shootout on Sunday that will determine the race's final three drivers. "We have another chance to be in the race," Alonso, who is seeking to make his second Indy 500 field, told IndyCar TV. The Spaniard twice got inside the top 30 but both times was bumped outside the mark, with JR Hildebrand and Graham Rahal the final two drivers to seal qualifying spots. Britain's Pippa Mann will be the only woman in the race, qualifying 30th in 227.244 mph. Race positions 10-30 were determined during the day-long qualifying with Saturday's nine fastest drivers set to return on Sunday to decide pole. Spencer Pigot, driving the Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet, led qualifying with a four-lap average of 230.083 mph. He was followed by 2018 winner Will Power of Australia (230.081) and Simon Pagenaud of France (229.854). The troubles for Alonso, whose top four-lap average was 227.224 mph, were exacerbated by a punctured tire in his first qualifying run. "That didn't help," Alonso told reporters. "But, obviously, our performance has been quite bad all week. Quite poor." The Spaniard crashed his Chevrolet in practice on Wednesday and missed nearly two full days of practice while a backup car was prepared. He returned on Friday. Alonso said he was worried the McLaren team was "not ready for the challenge." "We've been slow. You see Juncos Racing crashing yesterday and being ready at 6 o'clock. That's impressive," he said. "For us, we've been a little bit slow on everything." Alonso is bidding to join Graham Hill as the only drivers to achieve the 'Triple Crown of Motorsport' with an Indy 500 victory. He previously won the Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans 24 Hours race. He also won two Formula One drivers' titles. 2016 Chevy Camaro performance figures released
Mon, Sep 14 2015If you want to make a car faster, there are two sure-fire ways to get the job done – add power and/or reduce weight. Chevy has done both for the 2016 Camaro, putting as much as 455 horsepower into its muscle coupe and shaving a few hundred pounds from every trim. That range-topping power comes courtesy of a 6.2-liter V8 engine, and it's enough grunt to push an automatic-equipped Camaro SS to 60 miles per hour in just 4.0 seconds flat (4.3 seconds with a manual) and down the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds at 116 mph (12.5 at 115 for the stick). Not coincidentally, those acceleration specs, at least on paper, put the V8-powered Camaro SS just above the Mustang GT on the muscle-car pecking order. When the road gets twisty, Chevy claims the Camaro SS can generate as much as .97 g on the skidpad. And, thanks in part to its Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tires, the SS can stop from 60 in as little as 117 feet. We look forward to finding out how nimble the new Camaro feels when compared to its primary competitors.
Your browser does not support iframes.
Moving down one notch to the 335-hp 3.6-liter V6, properly equipped 2016 Camaro coupes can hit 60 in as few as 5.1 seconds and cover the quarter in 13.5 at 103. Perhaps even more intriguingly, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and its 275 horsepower (the only configuration quicker with a manual transmission, incidentally) can propel the Camaro to 60 in 5.4 seconds and through the 'ol 1320 in 14 seconds flat. That's seriously quick, but buyers comparing the Camaro to the Mustang will find that the EcoBoost 2.3-liter is a bit more powerful (310 hp and 320 lb-ft) and quicker (5.1 seconds to 60). Chevy is making lots of noise about the efforts its engineers went through to shed weight from the 2016 Camaro, going so far as to shave down suspension bolts so that no thread went unthreaded. The weight-saving obsession pays off – base Camaro models are down 390 pounds while the SS model drops 223 pounds over the 2015. The 2016 Camaro SS boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 8.1 lbs per pony, a 14-percent improvement over the last-gen. Even though weight is down, chassis stiffness is said to be up by 28 percent over the fifth-gen Camaro coupe. Also of note: The Camaro is now lighter than the Mustang across the board when comparing like-to-like configuration levels. The 2016 Chevy Camaro starts at $26,695 (including $995 for destination).
