I purchased this car 11 years ago off eBay through a Corvette dealership in Arizona with 124,908 miles and it’s been garage kept since I’ve owned it. I brought it to Ohio, where it’s never seen a day of snow or rain.  I planned on keeping this car, but I recently moved to Florida and don’t have room and to many projects and responsibilities going on.  So it’s time to let her go to someone who can enjoy the fun she brings.  Ok, here's what I know about the car.  Having purchased this car on eBay 11 years ago, I didn’t do a personal inspection, but it was well described in the listing.  When I received the car I could tell that it must have received some damage in the right front fender.  The front doghouse has been re-spot welded, and the car appears to be repainted.  There is no frame damage that I can tell of, drives straight and the alignment is spot on.  The heritage graphics are under the clear coat, which was not done through the factory or SLP, which makes it nice as they won’t peal off or fade.  The door jams weren’t prepped well when it was repainted, as in some spots the newer paint has chipped off, but the good is, the original white paint is in great shape, and I’ve color sanded those chips to blend the lines in.  Obviously there was some overspray which I’ve removed and there is a small run in the clear coat right under the passenger mirror which I haven’t had time to fix, plus you have to be looking for it to find it.  Pretty simple job to do by scrapping off the excess and buffing it out. I replaced the inner fender wells with OE replacements from GM as it’s almost impossible to removed overspray from there.  Outside of that, there is no damage on the exterior or interior.  The LT1 runs really strong and its a monster.  There’s so much torque that when it shifts to second if your not paying attention it will break the tires lose.  With any car I own, I always start with upgrading the suspension and moving into the driveline.  The driveline is pretty stout, but the suspension on the f-body can always be improved upon.  The t-tops don’t leak in anyway, granted I’ve never driven the car in rain, but it’s never showed any signs of leaking from washing.  The spare tire appears to have never been used.  The AC blows nice and cold.  There is a crease in the passenger side window tint towards the upper right corner, it was this way when I bought the car.  All fluids have been changed to synthetic.  Everything works as it should; windows, locks, mirrors, lights, gauges, etc..

Here’s a list of the upgrades I’ve done so far.

Next-gen Chevy Camaro ZL1 teases big changes under its camo

Mon, Aug 3 2015

With work complete on the lighter, stiffer 2016 Camaro, it's time for Chevrolet's engineers to really start having fun by developing the next, ZL1 version. Here it is for the first time. Unfortunately, the muscle car is still wearing quite a bit of camouflage, but the concealment isn't enough to hide some of the meaner model's more obvious performance tweaks. Starting from the front, this Camaro now wears a much more aggressive front fascia with bigger air inlets. Managing the airflow around the engine bay is clearly a big deal because another photo reveals a fairly large extractor in the hood, as well. Moving down the profile, the lower side sills and orientation of the camo suggest some blistered fenders in the back to cover wider rubber, and at the very rear a much larger wing further suggests the need to keep things planted to the road. Check out the comparison images in the gallery for a better look at the tweaks. What will power the next ZL1 is still entirely a mystery, although sticking with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 could be a possibility, especially if you take the big extractor in the hood as a hint. Whereas the current ZL1 makes 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque, the LT4 in the latest Cadillac CTS-V pumps out 640 hp and 630 lb-ft. Combined with the Camaro's other improvements, we're thinking that this new ZL1 will be quite a hot ticket, and based on these spy shots, we can't wait to find out.

Nissan Leaf sets new November sales record, Chevy Volt drops again

Tue, Dec 2 2014

When you talk to people in the plug-in vehicle industry, one theme you hear repeatedly is that the more plug-in cars that are out there, the better things are for everyone. One reason is that more EVs build a need for more public chargers, and more chargers mean more people see that plugging in is feasible. But there's still something to be said for old-fashioned competition, and in the sales race between the two long-running plug-in vehicles in the US, the Nissan Leaf is resoundingly beating the Chevy Volt for 2014. In fact, it won't be long before the EV's cumulative sales top the PHEV's. But that's a topic for another month. For now, we have the sales results from November. Unsurprisingly, Nissan set another monthly record (that is, the best Leaf sales in any November, the 22nd time in a row we've seen a monthly record) with 2,687 sales last month. That's up 34 percent over last November and up 35 percent year-to-date. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of electric vehicle marketing, said in a statement that, "Our 'Kick Gas' ad campaign and 'No Charge to Charge' launch in Chicago and Atlanta drove an increase in November Leaf sales. Even with gas prices falling across the country, consumers appreciate that the cost of driving a Nissan Leaf is still a fraction of that of a gas-powered car." Over on the Chevy side of the ledger, there were 1,336 Volt sales last month, down 30.4 percent from the 1,920 sold in November 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 16.4 percent and Chevy has sold 17,315 Volts in 2014. As we said last month, the Volt slump might be due to people waiting on the new version to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show next month before going on sale in the second half of 2015. So far in 2014, Nissan has sold 27,098 Leafs. Look for our detailed post of US green car sales in the near future. Until then, please discuss last month's Leaf and Volt sale in the comments, below. GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
