1979 Camaro Z28.  This is a project that I started about 8 years ago and after the first 6 months I moved 350 miles away so progress has been non existent!  It is time for it to go!  The car has been inside my parents garage for the last 8 years.

The right rear quarter panel, doors, hood, fender, deck lid, rear bumper cover, rear bumper impact bar, windshield, rear spoiler, seats and floor pan inside the trunk have been removed.

Most all of the parts are there and I have tried to show them in the pictures.  The seat covers and foam, door panels, headliner, and a few misc. interior pieces, windshield, lower grill are the only things missing that I can think of.  I have a used TA rear deck lid and complete rear spoiler to be included.

The car is a 350 V8 with an Holley Performer Carb and Edlebrock Performer RPM intake, otherwise it looks stock.  The gas tank has been removed from the car, before it was taken out the engine started and ran (I drove the car about 1/2 mile) It hasn't been turned over in about 7 years

There is a decent amount of rust below the rear glass on the inside of the trunk (the drain rails), the right rear quarter and trunk pan were removed because of rust.  Included with the car is reproduction Full quarter panel and trunk pan (Paid $300 from NPD)

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
