1968 camaro pro touring frame off restore 3 years ago. 4000 miles since restore and 1000 miles on brand new crate GMPP LS3/480 horsepower and built T56 6 speed transmission. Everything was redone on this car, the bottom side of the car is just as clean as the top.

Front suspension: Heidts 2'' tall drop spindles, Tubular upper control arms, QA1 adjustable coil overs, 1 1/8th solid sway bar, CPP 500 series steering box, all new steering linkage.Rear suspension: 2'' lowering leaf springs, fox shocks. Poly bushings throughout.

Brakes: front 13'' drilled and slotted rotors with C5 corvette aluminum calipers. Rear 12'' drilled and slotted rotors, also with aluminum calipers, ceramic pads on both ends.

Motor is the 480 horsepower version of GM's crate LS3, has ceramic coated dougs headers, msd plug wires. Also has all brand new corvette front accessory drive. Dual 2.5 flowmater exhaust. EFI fuel tank with walbro 400 pump

Transmission: Built T56 out of a 4th generation camaro, SLP billet flywheel and Mcleod twin disc clutch. Also has a short throw shifter. Transmission is good for 600WHP

Rear differential: GM 8.5 10 bolt, eaton posi unit, 3.73 gears. With the 6spd at 65mph the motor is at about 1250RPM

Wheels and tires: Summit legend 17'' wheels, BFG 255/45/17 in rear and 245/45/17 in the front

The car runs, drives, stops, and handles like a late model sports car. Curb weight is 3150 with full tank of fuel.

Interior: All new from headliner to carpet. Procar front seats, Tilt steering column, Autometer gauges, Kenwood head unit, Kenwood 6x9 speakers in the rear deck. The car has 2 layers of dynamat, and 1 later of dynaliner. There is very little to no road noise heard in the car, but the exhaust is still fairly loud in the cab. Vintage air AC and heat work well.

Body and paint: Paint was new 3 years ago. Stripped to bare metal. Color is Tor red off the new challengers. There are no dings/dents/scratches on the car. The stripes are perfectly straight. The car does get driven so there are a couple very minor flaws in the paint that 99% of people will not notice unless I point them out. All the chrome is new.

Cons: The exhaust is fairly loud inside the car, this might be an issue for some buyers, but can be solved with new mufflers.
The car is not 100% air tight around the windows. All the weatherstripping is new, but the windows don't seal perfectly. I imagine with some adjustment this could be fixed.
The headliner is new, but has a few wrinkles in it.
There is no glove box behind the door because of the vintage air system. The glove box door also has a noticeable scratch on it.

2016 Chevy Camaro Convertible gets cleaner looks, improved refinement [UPDATE]

Wed, Jun 24 2015

UPDATE: We have live photos from the reveal. Scroll to the bottom of the story and check them out in the Related Gallery. Back in May, Chevrolet introduced a redesigned Camaro. Now, and not at all surprisingly, the Bowtie brand is showing off the latest Camaro convertible, based on the coupe that debuted on Belle Isle in Detroit. From the beltline down, this is the same car that was so well-received last month. But above the waist, there's an all-new, fully automatic canvas roof that can be raised and lowered at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. On top of that, owners will be able to drop the roof remotely by simply pressing a button on the key. Chevy does not, however, say if this new convertible roof is lighter than last year's top. The biggest change for the Camaro convertible, though, is something we've long yearned for – a proper hard tonneau cover that deploys over the folded roof. The current muscle car's roof fabric has the unpleasant tendency to flap in the breeze. The new droptop shouldn't have that problem, and will likely boast an even cleaner top-down profile to boot. Like the hardtop, though, the Camaro convertible does benefit from the same lightweight structure, that helps trim "at least" 200 pounds of body fat. It should also make use of the same powertrain lineup, with a turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V6, and a 6.2-liter V8 with six-speed manuals or eight-speed automatic transmissions spanning the lineup. "From the beginning, the Camaro's architecture was developed to incorporate a convertible with uncompromised driving dynamics," Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser said in the attached release. "Customers will appreciate what they don't feel: quivers, cowl shake or an under-damped chassis typically found in a four-seat convertible." Increased refinement, a cleaner look, better driving dynamics and a more usable convertible roof? We're looking forward to you 2016 Camaro convertible. Chevy claims the new car arrives in "early 2016," which means we should plan on seeing this droptop at the typically cold and snowy Detroit Auto Show. Until then, check out the full press release from Chevrolet. Deep discounts — $12K, $13K, $16K — are fueling a pickup price war

Mon, Jun 4 2018

Heavy discounts of up to $16,000 per vehicle are fueling a "truck war" among full-size pickups sold in the United States by the Detroit Three, a Reuters analysis shows. Strong U.S. sales this year of the highly profitable big trucks have helped offset lagging passenger car sales. But it is not clear how much of the truck demand is linked directly to ample factory incentives and dealer discounts, or how far sales might decline without those subsidies. A Reuters survey of Ford, General Motors Co's Chevrolet and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's Ram truck dealers across the United States indicates stores are offering deep discounts the country's bestselling full-size pickup trucks. "The walls are not crashing down on full-size trucks," said Sam Fiorani, vice president of global vehicle forecasting at AutoForecast Solutions in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Detroit-based automakers want to keep cranking out their high-margin trucks, he added, and "giving up a little of the profit is the cheapest way to do it." Stores are offering discounts of up to $12,000 on the 2018 Ford F-150, which remains the best-selling vehicle in the country, recording more than 80,000 sales in May. Discounts run up to $13,000 on the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and as high as $16,000 on the Ram 1500. Average transaction prices for full-size pick-ups range from around $42,000 to $45,000, industry analysts and automakers say. All three companies are spending furiously - GM and Fiat Chrysler to help sell off carryover 2018 trucks to prepare for redesigned 2019 models, and Ford to sustain its long-held sales crown. A supplier fire that temporarily shut down production of the F-150 last month "changed the game," said Jeff Schuster, senior vice president of forecasting at LMC Automotive in Troy, Michigan said. The supply halt nudged Ford's crosstown rivals "to ratchet up incentives on the current models to go after weakness at Ford," he said. Deals advertised on the companies' official websites range from rebates and low-interest loans to ultra-cheap lease rates, but they are not telling the whole story. Ford, for instance, advertises a $2,000 rebate and a $500 financing credit on sales of certain F-150 models. But James Collins Ford in Louisville, Kentucky, is offering discounts of up to $12,215 on the 2018 F-150 XLT SuperCrew 4x4. The price cuts are even steeper at a number of GM and Fiat Chrysler dealers. Quirk Chevrolet is selling the 2018 Silverado 1500 Double Cab at $13,000 off sticker.

Chevy admits there's confusion over Bolt and Volt names

Fri, Feb 20 2015

Offering the possibility of 200 miles of driving range and the potential for a price of about $30,000, the Chevrolet Bolt is an incredibly enticing vehicle, and it has an opportunity to be a big player in the EV world. However, the hatchback has been plagued by one problem since the moment it debuted – the name. Bolt sounds very similar to Volt, Chevy's extended-range plug-in, and they can be easy to confuse in a conversation. That's not the best quality to have when trying to get a new vehicle's name out there among customers, and General Motors North America president Alan Batey told the Detroit Free Press that the company is aware of the problem. While the EV is definitely going into production, the model might be wearing a different moniker when it hits showrooms. "We're still in the decision phase. It could go either way," Batey said to the Free Press. He indicated the automaker still has about a year before a final decision is necessary. The Bolt will be built at GM's Orion Assembly plant in Michigan and will likely go on sale around 2017. That will put the Chevy on the market at roughly the same time as the 200-mile Tesla Model 3. Batey didn't seem too concerned, though. "Unlike Tesla, we can spread the cost over a whole lineup," he said to the Free Press. The future doesn't look quite so bright for the Spark EV, though. Batey suggested that it might not last once the longer-range Bolt fills that niche in the lineup. Related Video:
