Beautiful 1968 Camaro Convertible with a book load of new parts and a ton of work done by the previous owner. I will kind of list all the stuff done to the car in sections, I'm sure I will forget some stuff because there is a lot.
Body: Beautiful 68 Matador Red paint with black reverse hockey stick stripe(68 only stripe). Paint looks fantastic and straight, stripe is buried in the clear and can't be felt by rubbing your hand over it. Have searched trunk and fenders and there are no patch panels on the car. Any rust removed was done with full panels. Floor is absolutely perfect with no rust, scale or anything whatsoever. Floor is finished off in a factory correct semi gloss black and looks great. Convertible top may be the original top for the car but looks great, back window is a little yellow and cloudy but you can see through it fine, no rips or tears in this top.
Suspension: Car is loaded with Hotchkis suspension parts. Upper and lower control arms(del alum bushings), rear leaf springs, rear sway bar that has a brace that mounts between the frame rails to make it more rigid, subframe connectors, floor support(convertibles only), front sway bar all parts are hotchkis. Also has qa1 coil over shocks in the front and Bilstein shocks in the rear. Car handles like a slot car!!
Wheels: Rocket Racing rocket boosters, 18's in the rear, 17's in the front. Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes and all new brake lines and booster.
Engine: GM crate zz4 engine with 400 hp hooked to a tremec 5 speed with new drive shaft hooked to a 10 bolt posi with a new eaton 3:73 posi unit. Shorty headers connected to flowmaster transverse muffler with aluminized exhaust. Stainless steel gas tank. No LEAKS on this car. Griffin radiator that never gets above 195 even in the Texas heat with the a/c on, cooled by a nice electric fan.
Interior: Late model Camaro front seats with original back seat. Deluxe door panels front and rear. Original seat belts in rear seat and late model Camaro seat belts in front. Vintage air A/C that blows ice cold. Factory looking am/fm radio that is actually one of those new ones that has ipod connections and is actually digital, can't tell it's not the original one, love this option. Dynomat throughout the whole interior. Windshield wiper doesn't work, sent motor back to DSE, they said motor good switch bad. Never cared since I don't drive it in the rain. Glass is original(except windshield) and looks like 43 year old convertible glass. All header panel chrome is new as are sunvisors. Tilt steering wheel with beautiful Flaming river steering wheel(horn works). All speedo, tach and gauges work. Gas gauge works on and off, might be a loose wire or bad sending unit, am including a new sending unit with the car. Never cared, just always kept plenty of gas in it. All other lights, turnsignals, marker lights, reverse lights, etc work perfectly. Rear lights are LED and light up super bright, look awesome, front head lights are projection style.
Ring Brothers: Has many ring brothers dress up accessories on the car that look like fine jewelry. Hood hinges, fender braces, astro ventilation covers, door strikers and SS hood louvers(billet aluminum).
I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff but you get the picture. A really nice Camaro Convertible for a realistic reserve. Car isn't perfect but it will give you little things to tinker with. Car starts up like fuel injection and has never had any mechanical problems since I've been driving it, heck, pretty much everything is new!!!!! Interesting fact about the car, 68 was a leap year, this car was built the 5th week of February witch I guess would be the 29th. 712 interior, F2(island teal with a black top). 02E production date.
Thanks for looking

Fernando Alonso fails to qualify as Pagenaud takes Indy pole
Mon, May 20 2019Former Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso narrowly failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday as France's Simon Pagenaud took pole position for the May 26 race. Kyle Kaiser beat out Alonso for the final spot in the 33-car field when he finished third, one spot ahead of the Spaniard, in a six-car shootout that determined the Indy 500's last row. The 23-year-old Kaiser, the last driver to take the track, averaged 227.372 mph for his four laps, a mere 0.019 mph ahead of Alonso's 227.353 mph average in the McLaren-prepared Chevrolet. "We never surrendered. We kept trying," Alonso, 37, told reporters after a tough week at the famed speedway. The Spaniard crashed his Chevrolet in practice on Wednesday and missed nearly two full days of practice while a back-up car was prepared. Then he tried five times on Saturday to qualify, puncturing a tire on the first attempt. Alonso had a completely new set up for Sunday's shootout but could not get the speed he needed to qualify. "I think the car felt better today than what we had yesterday. (So I am) happy with things we tried," he told reporters before learning he had not qualified. Pagenaud had a four-lap average speed of 229.992 mph to become the first Frenchman to take the pole since Rene Thomas in 1919. "It's just amazing," Pagenaud, who last week won the IndyCar Grand Prix on the track's road course, told NBC Sports. "Obviously last week was amazing, but this is even more special." He will be joined by Ed Carpenter (229.889) and Spencer Pigot (229.826) on the front row. But the Cinderella story belonged to Kaiser, the 33rd qualifier. "I don't think I can wrap my mind around what we just did," he said after bumping Alonso from the field. "This is all the credit to the team. They've been working non-stop trying to get this car ready for us and they did everything that we needed to get into this field." GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient. View this post on Instagram A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version. GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though.
