Up for sale is my 2000 Chevrolet Crew Cab 3500. Truck has a new GM 6.5 turbo diesel replacement engine in it with 30,000 miles on it. It is 4 wheel drive and has an automatic transmission. The truck runs and drives great with tons of power. I just stuck $700 in injector pump work along with a new pmd and extension harness. All 6 tires are about 90% tread. The body is in really good shape for a 2000 ton truck. There is only one small dent in the rear drivers side door. The paint has peeled a little in a couple of spots. I took pictures of it so look closely. Other than that the body is in really good shape. It has leather interior. Drivers seat is all power and passenger seat has power lumbar. Drivers seat is worn just like all the rest of the trucks from this era. See picture. Other than that the rest of the interior is pretty clean. No cracks in the dash or door panels. Everything works in this truck besides the air conditioning. The compressor has been replaced and works but when I put Freon in it, it didn't seem to cool. Could be something simple but I'm not an expert with air conditioning. All windows go up and down as they should. Has AM/FM radio with cd and tape deck. Cruise control works Tilt wheel. All of the lights work inside and out. This will make someone a good truck and could be used for multiple reasons. Only reason I am selling it is I bought a newer truck and don't use this one much. I am the third owner. The original owner used it to pull his camper to Texas in the fall and back in the Spring. The second owner used it to pull a horse trailer. They stored it in the winter months. I have also never drove it in salt, so needless to say there is very little rust. Any questions feel free to ask. If you would like to come check it out let me know and we can work out a time. I will require the winning bidder to pay a $500 deposit via paypal at the end of the auction. The balance is due in the form of cash within 7 days of the close of the auction. If you can't pick it up within that time frame it still needs to be payed for within 7 days. If this is the case get a hold of me and we will work something out. I'm pretty easy to get along with. Also, I would like to hear from the winning bidder within 24 hours of the close of the auction to make arrangements for it to be picked up. Thanks for looking and good luck!

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)
