You are bidding on a 1996 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4. It has been
customized from front to rear. The body is almost the only factory parts
remaining. It began with a frame off build. The frame was shaved of all but two
factory cross members. The frame has been trussed and boxed in several
locations. Custom cross members were manufactured from attaching parts of the suspension,
the transmission and the motor. A custom 25gal fuel cell was manufactured and
installed between the frame rails for added capacity and safety. A double tri-angulated
four link suspension was fabricated to install two (2) Dana 60 axles front and
rear with disk brakes at all four corners. King coil overs were used to give
the truck the monster truck look, feel, and ride. Air-craft cables was
manufactured and tested before being installed to limit the travel of the suspension.
Anti-Rock sway bars were installed at both ends. The four link bars are 2” DOM
with 1 1/4 ” hiems at both ends. The drive shafts are custom units from
Custom-Drivelines. Mechanical steering was engineered and PSC steering assist
was used to help in steering the beast. The factory 6.5L Turbo diesel was
removed and a 500Hp BBC was installed. The BBC is a 454 bored .030 over. Wisco,
Bullet, Crane, Clevit77, Malory, Demon, and Ron Davis are just a few parts
under the hood. A Turbo 400 and NP 205 transfer case put the power from the
500Hp BBC to the Dana 60’s. The power meets the ground through custom Weld
Racing 16.5”x16” Rockcrushers. 44”x21”x16.5” Super Swampers wrap the wheels.
The factory interior was replaced with a roll bar, three (3) seats, and a
custom dash housing Auto meter gauges. The entire vehicle was stripped of all
factory wiring and rewired from scratch using quality Painless Wiring. A Sony
sound system with 5 1/2 ” door speakers and 6”x9” speakers in the rear, was then
installed. It is an unbelievable truck to own. You better like attention
because the looks and questions you get from every one that sees the truck
never stops. |

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
Next-gen Chevy Camaro ZL1 teases big changes under its camo
Mon, Aug 3 2015With work complete on the lighter, stiffer 2016 Camaro, it's time for Chevrolet's engineers to really start having fun by developing the next, ZL1 version. Here it is for the first time. Unfortunately, the muscle car is still wearing quite a bit of camouflage, but the concealment isn't enough to hide some of the meaner model's more obvious performance tweaks. Starting from the front, this Camaro now wears a much more aggressive front fascia with bigger air inlets. Managing the airflow around the engine bay is clearly a big deal because another photo reveals a fairly large extractor in the hood, as well. Moving down the profile, the lower side sills and orientation of the camo suggest some blistered fenders in the back to cover wider rubber, and at the very rear a much larger wing further suggests the need to keep things planted to the road. Check out the comparison images in the gallery for a better look at the tweaks. What will power the next ZL1 is still entirely a mystery, although sticking with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 could be a possibility, especially if you take the big extractor in the hood as a hint. Whereas the current ZL1 makes 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque, the LT4 in the latest Cadillac CTS-V pumps out 640 hp and 630 lb-ft. Combined with the Camaro's other improvements, we're thinking that this new ZL1 will be quite a hot ticket, and based on these spy shots, we can't wait to find out.
