Recent Complete Tune-up w/All Top of the Line Parts Including Autolight Double Platinum Plugs, Accel Heavy Duty Cap/Rotor w/Bras Connectors, Accel 8mm Yellow Wires, Fram Air-Hog Air Filter, PCV Valve, Inline Fuel Filter. New Fel-Pro Valve Cover Gaskets. New Walker Sound Effects Muffler, (4) Tires in Like New Condition w/very low mi... Just Installed Complete new Cooling System on 9/13/12 New bigger size Radiator, New H.P. Water Pump, New Severe Duty Clutch Fan, New 195-deg Thermostat, New Upper/Lower Radiator Hoses, New Serpentine Belt, (2) New Oil Cooler Lines, New Coolant added etc.etc. if you want to replace it needs a new seat due to it being ripped on the bottom Drivers side.. Has Strobe light hard wired to the roof. Has side Black Bed Rails & a Diamond Plated Tool-Box.. I replaced two brake lines & when I went to bleed the front brakes I couldn't do it the normal way because it needs new bleeder screws (stripped) so I bled it by doing it through the Brake Hoses? The next thing I was going to do was to check all four of the brakes, the rest of the brake lines etc. and replace the front bleeder screws then bleed to whole system correctly. So that is the only thing that I didn't get to yet & needs to be done.. But I have plowed the past few storms with this truck with no problems whatsoever.. All Set to go to Work, Everything Works & "Runs Great" (no leaks, no noises, no smoke, don't heat up etc.) The Underside of Truck is clean and in good condition, I took recent pics but I had to lay on the ground & use my cell phone to take the pictures & they came out as small pictures, Same thing small pictures of the minor rust bubbles spots about the size of a quarter or so (see-pics)? I do have the paint color/code that can be bought to fix these very minor ares that are just starting!! I have (3) 4x4 Trucks two are plow trucks & only really only need (1) plow truck. But anyway I'm listing this one FOR-$ALE, I'm into it for alot more than this price, I have all the parts receipts etc.!! but it will be my loss & your gain!! It is Really Good/Clean Reliable Truck (See Pics).. Was originally an elderly gentleman's Truck in Maine, then it was sold to a gentleman that owned an oil company in Maine & he painted it yellow to match his small fleet of oil trucks, he used this truck to make house calls & plow his parking lot as well as his home driveway.. The only reason I'm selling this truck is because I bought it as a back-up plow truck, but like it so much that it is my primary plow truck, but I have my other plow truck that I invested lots of $$$$ into (16,k) and will never get it back so I will have to sell this one and use my other one on as my plow truck, I hate to see it go because it truly works great for plowing but I have to let it go, someone will appreciate this reliable truck as it is in very good working order... Must Come See it for yourself, and please call for more info., Thanks Frank

GM’s move to Woodward is the right one — for the company and for Detroit

Wed, May 1 2024

Back in 2018, Chevy invited me to attend the Detroit Auto Show on the company dime to get an early preview of the then-newly redesigned Silverado. The trip involved a stay at the Renaissance Center — just a quick People Mover ride from the show. IÂ’d been visiting Detroit in January for nearly a decade, and not once had I set foot inside General MotorsÂ’ glass-sided headquarters. I was intrigued, to say the least. Thinking back on my time in the buildings that GM will leave behind when it departs for the new Hudson's site on Woodward Avenue, two things struck me. For one, its hotel rooms are cold in January. Sure, itÂ’s glass towers designed in the 1960s and '70s; I calibrated my expectations accordingly. But when I could only barely see out of the place for all the ice forming on the inside of the glass, it drove home just how flawed this iconic structure is.  My second and more pertinent observation was that the RenCen doesnÂ’t really feel like itÂ’s in a city at all, much less one as populous as Detroit. The complex is effectively severed from its surroundings by swirling ribbons of both river and asphalt. To the west sits the Windsor tunnel entrance; to the east, parking lots for nearly as far as the eye can see. To its north is the massive Jefferson Avenue and to its south, the Detroit River. You get the sense that if Henry Ford II and his team of investors had gotten their way, the whole thing would have been built offshore with the swirling channel doubling as a moat. This isnÂ’t a building the draws the city in; itÂ’s one designed to keep it out. Frost on the inside of the RenCen hotel glass. Contrasted with the new Hudson's project GM intends to move into, a mixed-use anchor with residential, office, retail and entertainment offerings smack-dab in Detroit's most vibrant district, the RenCen is a symbol of an era when each office in DetroitÂ’s downtown was an island in a rising sea of dilapidation. Back then, those who fortified against the rapid erosion of DetroitÂ’s urban bedrock stood the best chance of surviving. This was the era that brought us ugly skyways and eventually the People Mover — anything to help suburban commuters keep their metaphorical feet dry. The RenCen offered — and still offers — virtually any necessity and plenty of nice-to-haves, all accessible without ever venturing outside, especially in the winter, but those enticements are geared to those who trek in from suburbia to toil in its hallways.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

Crash victim found still inside car 6 hours after it was towed away [w/video]

Wed, Jan 7 2015

Police near Dayton, OH, have quite a confusing case on their hands after the victim of a crash early on New Year's Day couldn't initially be found. Six hours later, the man was discovered lying on the vehicle's floorboard at the tow yard. The unidentified person was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition with possible leg injuries. The police first responded to the scene of the crash around 3:00 am on New Year's Day when a Chevrolet Impala hit a utility pole and drove through a fence, according to WHIO News. The authorities claim that they searched for the man for an hour and a half and came up with nothing. The car was then hauled away to the yard, which was only about 500 feet away. The tow yard worker found the man around 9:00 am and called 911. However, he was clearly dubious about the injured man's predicament and suggested to the operator that he might have returned to the Impala. Police are still investigating the incident. According to WHIO, authorities might have somehow missed the man in the sedan during the search. Alternatively, he could have left the scene of the accident and later returned. Watch the video below for more about this bizarre case. The video meant to be presented here is no longer available. Sorry for the inconvenience.
