This is a really nice Short-Wide pickup truck.  It belongs to a friend of mine, and I am listing it for him.  I am a performance engine builder, and I built the engine for this project.  As such, I witnessed the build project from the start.  It was done right, and he uses it as a daily driver to/from work 20 miles one way.  He is ready for a new project, and wants to sell this one.  Here are the goods on the Truck:

1992 Chevrolet P/U std cab SWB 244,000 showing on speedo, but only 12,000 since rebuild & paint.  This was a rust free truck.

Starting at the front, drop spindles, new coil springs, energy suspension bushings in control arms & entire body mount, new ball joints upper and lower, drop pitman arm and idler arm, and drop shocks.  The engine compartment got a fresh 5.7L SBC, roller hydraulic cam, double roller timing chain, two valve relief +.030 flat top ICON pistons, chrome rings,  steel crank, 1st series vortec heads, aluminum duel plane intake, new performance HEI distributor, Aluminum radiator, and Apex Q-jet carburetor.  The transmission s a 700R4, completely rebuilt, and new torque converter. Differential opened up, bearings replaced as needed, gear inspected, new synthetic gear lube installed, flip kit & springs installed, and new lowering shocks installed.  At the rear, a rollpan, and hide-a-way receiver hitch finish it off.  A/C got a new compressor, new lines, new orifice, new dryer accumulator, R134A changeover, and it will run you out!  Doors got new handles in and out, new latches, new hinge pins & bushings.  Stereo is a JVC with 2 - 6x9 pile, 2 - 12" kickers, 2 - crunch amps, and it sounds awesome!  Body paint is Satin Black.  He has a lot of parts that goes with the truck, dash pad, key switch, & misc interior parts, but no headliner, and if desired, some of the original suspension parts, however anything that was worn out was tossed.  OK, the Truck is 21 years old, so here are the gripes: The seat looks ok, but the foam is starting to go away, cruise control is not hooked up, dash pad is cracked & has a cover on it, and the horn just quit.

This is a no reserve auction, so bid to win!  The buy it now price is over $5,000.00 less than the investment.

Camaro SS, Hellcat Widebody, and an Airstream camper | Autoblog Podcast #545

Fri, Jun 29 2018

On this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Green Editor John Beltz Snyder and Senior Editor Alex Kierstein. We talk about a lot of American stuff, including the Chevy Camaro SS 1LE and the new Blazer, Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody, Ford's new train station and a diesel F-150 towing an Airstream trailer, as well as some Tesla pickup news. Somehow the Kia Stinger also made its way into this red, white and blue episode (because it's great, and it's our new long-termer). This week, we try something a little different in the "Spend My Money" segment. Autoblog Podcast #545 Your browser does not support the audio element. This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet

Tue, May 9 2017

When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:
