***NO RESERVE***

I have for sale a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado Ext Cab 2WD Kustom Kreations Edition truck with just over 63,500 original miles.

5.7L V-8, Automatic, 3.42 axle, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Driver Seat, Custom Captain Front Seats with Armrests, Wood Center Console, Wood Dash Trim, Wood Overhead Console with Lights, Wood Steering Wheel, Rear Overhead Speakers, Cassette Player with EQ, Slimline Bedcover, Towing Package, Oversize aftermarket wheels with 265/75/15 tires, Bed mat, Light under bed cover with toggle switch, Sliding Rear Window.  The tailgate handle is disabled and a slide latch installed so when the bedcover is locked there is no access to the bed.

My uncle purchased this truck new on 12/23/1991 from Rife Chevrolet in Grundy, VA for $25,500 plus taxes and fees.  I have the original bill of sale but not the window sticker. The way you see the truck is how it was purchased new.  My uncle passed away 2 years ago and this truck had been sitting in his garage for several years without being ridden.  My dad purchased it from my aunt and had a lot of work done on the truck to get it back into good running condition.  A lot of money was spent on the following parts and labor to get the truck in the condition its in today.

New spark plugs, spark plug wires, New GM Distributor, Distributor Cap & Rotor, Oxygen Sensor, Belt, Oil/Filter Change, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, PCV Valve, New AC Compressor, Removed gas tank/flush tank and install new fuel pump, Battery, Wiper blades, New Antenna, New chrome lugs & center caps.

The truck is currently located in Morristown, TN.  I have put over 500 miles on the truck in the last 2 weeks. I am riding the truck several days a week right now so the mileage may be slightly higher at the end of the auction.  The original Goodyear Eagle #1 tires were old and dry rotted so I had to replace them to be able to ride the truck.  I spent $550 installing new Hancook Ventus H101 tires. The oil was changed just last week and new shocks were installed on the rear of the bedcover.  This truck is not perfect but its a very good looking and unique truck.   It runs, drives and rides like a new truck.

The wood trim on the dash could use refinishing and the headliner is a little loose with one small tear above the driver seat.  The window tint needs to be replaced. I will try to post pictures of any cosmetic flaws on the truck.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like more pictures.

If you have zero (0) feedback please contact me before bidding.   Winner bidder agrees to pay $500 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction with the remainder to be paid when you pick up the truck.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Did the Chevy Corvette Z06 break 7 minutes at the Ring? Not likely

Wed, Jan 28 2015

"Just because it's on the internet doesn't make it true." That's rule number one, two and arguably, three, of surfing the world wide web. In today's example of this rule, we have the following. The website HorsepowerKings is claiming that a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, with the eight-speed automatic and Z07 package, managed to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes. To put that in perspective, that super-quick time would put the 650-horsepower, $97,000 (the price of a 2LZ with the Z07/8AT combo) Z06 a mere two seconds slower around the world's most challenging race track than the $929,000, 887-horsepower Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach. It's about eight seconds quicker than Nissan's own test of the GT-R Nismo Track Pack and 13 seconds faster than a Dodge Viper ACR. Unfortunately, Chevy says there isn't anything to it. We reached out to the Bowtie's Monte Doran, who confirmed that HK's claims are "not accurate." "Any one – a manufacturer, a journalist, a guy standing on the fence of the Ring – can claim a lap time. As such, we think the in-car video is essential to proving a time is real and credible, and Chevrolet will not release a lap until we have a video to substantiate the claim," Doran told Autoblog. "Chevrolet accumulated nearly 1,000 miles of testing on the Nurburgring with the Z06. During that time, we only had two opportunities to run a lap on video – and both were rained out. If we get a lap on video, we will post an official time." Doran finished by referencing the "only official lap time" for the Z06 – a 2:41 around the Virginia International Raceway. Frankly, we aren't terribly surprised by Chevy's position. One would imagine if the Z06 were matching million-dollar hypercars around the 'Ring, the company would literally be screaming about it from Renaissance Center's rooftop. As this is quite the opposite of that, though, we're betting that the real Z06 lap time - while still likely very, very fast – won't be quite quick enough to frighten the brightest and best of today's hypercars.

This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public

Wed, Oct 1 2014

General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.
