1979 Chevrolet K10 4x4, Shortbed, Original 400 V-8, Automatic Transmission, Painted Hot Rod Flat Black w/ All New Trim and Stainless Accents. The engine had already had some improvements added on to it before I had purchased the truck. An Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edelbrock carb had already been installed and we added a few small engine accessories such as the chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Complete fresh tune-up including cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter and pump. The engine runs very strong and sounds great. Engine does not blow any smoke when it first starts up as many Chevrolet engines do. The exhaust on the truck is true dual exhaust with turbo mufflers - NOT glasspacks. I like a nice tone from my exhaust - Not loud redneck exhaust by no means. I had my mechanic look over the entire drivetrain and he replaced all the front u-joints in the front axle, greased and packed all the front bearings, new brakes, and converted over to lock out hubs. Also just had a front end alignment done as well. Truck is setting on 31x11.50 Super Swampers on 15x8 Original style Ralley Wheels. This truck originally was an Arizona truck so the tuck never had any major rust issues to speak of. Body wise the truck has a new hood, hood springs, 1980's style doors, replacement cab corners, and pretty much the rest of the truck is the original sheet metal. Body and paint was done in a professional body shop - Not is someones back yard. Other goodies include New front grille, New head light bezels, New front bumper, New chrome door handles, New wheel opening mouldings, New aluminum bed caps, New aluminum tailgate protector, New windshield, New chrome wing vent handles, Aluminum tool box, and Custom hand painted pinstriping by MK John Studio just to mention a few. As for the interior - Pretty much everything is fresh, new, or redone. Dash has been upgraded to the newer style dash. Pyle Am/FM Stereo w/ small box speakers mounted behind seat. Door panels are also the newer style door panels. New headliner, Old school seat, New carpet kit, New seat belts, New chrome window cranks, New chrome interior door handles, Dome light functions as it should, and gauge package was reworked and all gauges now work as they should - Even the gas gauge works correctly (Which if you have ever owned an old Chevy this is amazing to see one actually work correctly). Not really to much bad to say about this old truck other than the original air conditioning system had been removed before I got my hands on it and I did not mess with it so yes, it is still off the truck. Otherwise, this old truck is pretty tight and rattle free. Doors fit up good and it rides and drives good going down the road. The truck just passed Missouri safety inspection meaning everything checked out good and tight with the suspension, all lights work as they should, and yes even the horn blows correctly. I know I am forgetting to mention a ton of stuff as I have worked on this truck in my spare time for about the last year and a half or so. Honestly I had no intentions of selling this truck but we are building a new home and some of my toys needs to go as we are already going over budget on the house so truck is going up for sale. The truck is for sale locally as well as here on Ebay so I do reserve the right to end this auction at any time. I was a collector car dealer about 10 years ago and we used to sell a ton of cars through Ebay so I have heard a lot of scams over the years so please do not even try with me. My description is an honest description - Look at my feedback and bid with confidence. My phone number is 573-220-5566 if you have any questions feel free to give me a call. I can also help with shipping arrangements as I still have some connections with several different shipping companies around the United States as we used to ship cars all over the United States and overseas. A $1000.00 deposit will be expected within 3 days of auction end and the balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auctions end. Vehicle will not be released until all funds have cleared. Thanks.......

Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 5 2017The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A. Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. You can check out Consumer Reports entire reliability roundup, even without a subscription, here.
24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
