THIS IS ONE PRETTY NICE POTENTIAL SLAM DOWN STREET TRUCK . ALL THE GLASS IS UN BROKEN EXCEPT FOR DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD. LIKE I SAID BENCH SEAT HAS BEEN REFURBISHED ON THE INSIDE AND RECOVERED WITH BLACK LEATHER. THIS TRUCK HAS AN ADJUSTABLE TORSION BAR FRONT END. AND 5 LEAF ,LEAF SPRING REAR END . THE FLOOR IN THE STEP SIDE BED HAS NO HOLES ALL THE WAY THROUGH IT ,BUT TO BE PRISTINE THEY NEED REPLACING. THIS IS A STEP SIDE THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE SPARE TIRE CUT IN THE FENDER BEHIND DRIVERS DOOR ,IT'S A FULL FENDER .THE FLOOR INSIDE THE CAB SEEMS SOLID WITH NO WROUGHT. THERE IS NO REAR BUMPER BUT THERE IS A FRAME ATTACHED TRAILER HITCH UNFORTUNATLY MUSTANG TAILLIGHTS HAVE BEEN POORLY INSERTED IN BACK PART OF REAR FENDERS. THE FRONT BUMPER AND GRILL ARE ALL CHROME AND IN FARE CONDITION . THE USUAL CANCER RUST SPOTS ON LOWER BACK PART OF FRONT FENDERS HAVE BEEN FIXED WITH BONDO OR FIBERGLAS AND LOOK PRETTY GOOD , BUT MORE THAN LIKELY NEED TO BE CUT OUT AND REPAIRED CORRECTLY! I DOUBT THIS TRUCK WAS AN ORIGINAL V-8 TRUCK, BUT SOMEWHERE ALONG IT'S HISTORY IT RECEIVED ONE, AND AT THAT TIME RECEIVED A TWO BARREL CARB A AND SINGLE Y PIPE EXHAUST. WHICH IS A CRYING SHAME SINCE SOMEONE RIGHT BEFORE WE GOT IT PUT A HIGH OUTPUT G.M. SHORT BLOCK IN IT AND DID NOT CHANGE THESE FEATURES WHICH ARE STILL ON IT TO THIS DAY! THE MOTOR ALONE AS A SHORT BLOCK COST AT LEAST $I500.00 MINIMUM FROM GM AT THE TIME. WE NEW THE PERSON WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM RATHER WELL AND HE SAID AT THE TIME OF HIS PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE THE MOTOR WAS BRAND NEW . HE DROVE THE TRUCK AS A DAILY DRIVER FOR A YEAR SO I FIGURE IT HAS LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON IT BEFORE HE WAS MURDERED BY A FATALLY ATTRACTED TEEN BOY , WHO'S EX GIRLFRIEND HE WAS DATING. MY PARTNER AN I BOUGHT IT FROM THE MURDERED GUYS SISTER WHO THE TRUCK WAS LEFT TO IN HIS WILL. SHE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 6 OR 8 MONTHS , COULDN'T DRIVE IT AND WOULD BREAK INTO TEARS EVERY TIME SHE LOOKED AT IT! SO WE MADE HER AN OFFER WHICH SHE GLADLY TOOK. MY PARTNER DAILY DROVE IT FOR BOUT ANOTHER YEAR WHILE WE STARTED TO RESTORE IT , BUT THE FACT WE BOTH HAD 5OR 6 OTHER CARS WE WERE RESTORING AT THE SAME TIME IT DIDN'T PROGRESS TO FAR!! THE ECONOMY DIVED , GAS WENT SKY HIGH AND MONEY WAS TIGHT. SO THE TRUCK GOT PARKED . SO FROM THERE BETWEEN THE RATS SQUIRRELS AND ANY THING ELSE THAT EATS THE INSULATION OFF WIRE IT CAME TO THE POINT WHERE THE UNDER HOOD WIRE HARNESS AND UNDER DASH WIRE HARNESS GOT MUNCHED! THE TRUCK MOTOR STILL STARTS AND RUNS EXCELLENT BUT WON'T START BY THE KEY! I BITCH AT HIM FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN SO BEING A RESPONSIBLE FRIEND SAID '' I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT '' HE HIRED SOME IMPOSTER , POSER, WHO SAID NO PROB I CAN WIRE IT! NOT!!! THIS GUY WAS A CLOWN , BUT TO TELL U THE TRUTH NO HARM NO FOUL ,THIS TRUCKS WIRING IS NO WORSE THAN WHEN THE RODENTS DID IT IN ! IN THE BEGINNING! SO THAT PRETTY WELL COVERS ALL I CAN THINK OF AS FAR AS DESCRIPTIVE SPECS GO ! MY PARTNER AND FRIEND IS PROPERTY MANAGING THE LAND I OWN IN SIS-Q CO. WHERE THE TRUCK IS LOCATED. I'VE SINCE MOVED TO SANTA BARBRA CO. HENCE THE ADDRESS ON MY EBAY ACCOUNT! WE WANT TO USE THE 500.00 DOWN PAID TO PAYPAL! SO EBAY IS GUARANTEED THERE'S WITH THE REMAINING BALANCE PAID AT TIME OF PICKUP! HE WILL BE BROKERING THE DEAL FOR THE BOTH OF US EXCEPT FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT WHICH WILL GO INTO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT. THE PRICE OF THE TRUCK IS $3600.00 AND NOT REALLY NEGOTIABLE ! BUT HELL IT NEVER HURTS TO TRY AND HE WILL HANDLE THAT ! HIS PHONE ## IS 530-643 -3508 ASK 4 MIKE AND TELL HIM YOUR INTERESTED IN THE 62 G.M.C., SINCE MY KNOWLEDGE ON CHEVY'S AND GMC'S IS FAR VASTER THAN HIS EMAIL ME FOR ANY TECH OR SPEC QUESTIONS ! IF U WANT TO TALK MONEY AND PRICE CALL HIM AT THE ## I POSTED . WE'VE BEEN SCAMMED BEFORE BY BUYERS OFF CL LIST SO I DO PREFER LOCAL PICKUP ,THAT WAY U SEE WHAT YOUR BUYING! I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE BUY CARS ON LINE SITE UNSEEN! IF U ARE HAVING A SHIPPER PICK IT UP FOR U , WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT CASH! IF U WANT TO USE ANY OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT WE WILL HOLD THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 45 DAYS OR MORE OR UNTIL YOUR CHECK CLEARS AND BANK SEZ IT'S GOOD ! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A SERIOUS BUYER BUT SPAMMERS DON'T EVEN BOTHER WE KNOW ALL THE TRICKS! THANX GREG

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient. View this post on Instagram A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version. Next-gen Chevy Camaro ZL1 teases big changes under its camo
Mon, Aug 3 2015With work complete on the lighter, stiffer 2016 Camaro, it's time for Chevrolet's engineers to really start having fun by developing the next, ZL1 version. Here it is for the first time. Unfortunately, the muscle car is still wearing quite a bit of camouflage, but the concealment isn't enough to hide some of the meaner model's more obvious performance tweaks. Starting from the front, this Camaro now wears a much more aggressive front fascia with bigger air inlets. Managing the airflow around the engine bay is clearly a big deal because another photo reveals a fairly large extractor in the hood, as well. Moving down the profile, the lower side sills and orientation of the camo suggest some blistered fenders in the back to cover wider rubber, and at the very rear a much larger wing further suggests the need to keep things planted to the road. Check out the comparison images in the gallery for a better look at the tweaks. What will power the next ZL1 is still entirely a mystery, although sticking with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 could be a possibility, especially if you take the big extractor in the hood as a hint. Whereas the current ZL1 makes 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque, the LT4 in the latest Cadillac CTS-V pumps out 640 hp and 630 lb-ft. Combined with the Camaro's other improvements, we're thinking that this new ZL1 will be quite a hot ticket, and based on these spy shots, we can't wait to find out.
24 Hours of Le Mans live update part one
Sat, Jun 18 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice with a profanity-laden stream-of-consciousness writing style. Parker lives in Hawaii and spends far more time spearfishing than behind the wheel of a car. Jump ahead to Part Two here, and Part Three here. Big Money and billionaire hobbyists and rockets on wheels. Jets belching French color smoke overhead. Balance of power fuckery. Plenty of water on the ground this morning. Absurdly expensive motorcars lined up in the pissing rain. Fast twitch lunatics behind the wheel. Chomping at the bit. Let's go let's go let's go! Race hasn't even started, Ford #67 maybe dealing with clutch issues. Karma? That beautiful bastard Brad Pitt's out on the track, waving the tricolor flag. It's a standing start in "Noah's Ark" weather and the 2016 24 hours of Le Mans is go! First lap takes place behind the safety car, finished in a record setting 8 minutes 27 seconds. Wrong kind of record maybe, but this is the first time I've set my mind to watching the whole damn race. Feel like I'm part of history. 3:00 AM on Kauai, a little too early for life. Sucking down coffee like a maniac. Don't fall back asleep. Got my hands on four hours of rest, how much more can I need? Better be enough for the next twenty four hours. Gonna get kinda punchy toward the end. Jason Statham on the scene. Four feet of solid muscle, non-existent hairline. Lovely wife peanut gallery sitting next to me calls him the "best race car drive in the world." Not sure if she's serious. Toss up, could go either way. Statham's a funny guy. Heir to the Bruce Willis comedy action crown. Really good in the movie where the fat comedy lady plays a spy. Ford's on the road. Problems with gearbox pressure, apparently. Nearing a half hour in and the safety car is still on the track. Hellish amounts of water on the ground, in the air. Visibility is garbage. Getting better. Twitter wags, "Not with a bang but a whimper." Just building suspense. Mother Nature felt like killing some people today, race officials need to dial back the drivers until it dries a tad. Normal inclination would've seen 'em flying, guaranteed early lap wrecks. Sad news for that bloodthirsty part of my lizard brain I try and keep suppressed. Good news for humanity. #12 in the pit for a bit.
