You are looking at a 1951 Chevy pickup It has great patina and the truck is very solid with no bondo at all, The truck has some minor dings but there are no rust holes just even patina and none of the patina was created it has taken 60 yrs to look like this. This truck has a complete subframe up front with disc brakes, it has all new brake lines including the distribution block by the master cylinder. this truck will stop on a dime. For drivetrain it has a perfect running 350 Chevy engine attached to a turbo 350 which has the shifter on the column so I did not interrupt leg room with floor shifter. There is also a transmission cooler in the front of the truck near the electric fan. The rear end is a chevy 10 bolt 342 gear his truck runs beautiful down the highway, his truck has new Dual exuast with flow masters running back and then dump out in front of the rear tires, Me and my buddy drove this truck from Charlotte Mi. to North of Chicago to the Iron Invasion Car show this fall 6hrs one way I never had one issue ad we fit right in with traffic. The wheels and tires were brand new in June of this year and I probally drove the truck 1000 miles, the wheels are 15x6 and 15x7 in the back and the tires are BF Goodrich Silvertowns direct from Coker. The inside of the truck has been completely dynamatted and I had tan carpet installed The seat is out of a 90's Chevy pickup it fits perfect and it gives you a lot more leg room, The gas tank has been removed from the cab and a gas tank has been installed under the bed with a flip down License plate bracket over the filler neck. All the gauges work other than the amp meter gauge (I cant stand dolphin gauges in an old pickup). The dome light works, The wipers work and the blower fan works with new duct work for the windshield defoggers All the windows roll up and down, the drivers side window has a crack in it.the side vent and the vent up by the hood both open and shut as well. this truck has a complete new wiring harness including headlights parking lights taillights dome light cd player blower fan engine bay, all the wires were ran very neatly. The one thing I really like about the interior is the doors and dash are not all cut apart and it is super clean with beautiful even patina that is not home made. This truck has also had a brand new oak wood bed kit from Bed Woods that has been stained to an original oak patina with a satin finish. This Truck truly runs and rides like a dream if you have any Questions feel free to email me or call me at 1 517 231 1377 any time and enjoy the pics. The Marathon station was on the way to the Iron Invasion Some where near Chicago. The truck currently has my logo on the door but it would come off pretty easy or could be left on
On Dec-13-13 at 21:37:13 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention a few things It does have a brand new pioneer CD player and 2 pioneer 3 way speakers in custom carpeted boxes behind the seat, It has has had a new headliner installed as well. I do notice the engine looks kind of grubby and I could easily clean up the engine bay and throw on some aluminum finned valve covers and finned air cleaner but I wanted the engine to fit in with the era. This truck also has Power Steering and Power Brakes. Thanks again Guys..... |

How Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra will take on the Ford F-150 profit machine
Fri, Aug 10 2018FORT WAYNE, Ind. — When General Motors engineers were developing the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, some of them joined public tours of Ford's Dearborn, Mich., factory to watch aluminum-bodied F-Series trucks go down the assembly line. The redesign of the Ford F-Series trucks, launched in 2014, set a new standard for fuel economy and lightweight vehicle construction. But armed with stopwatches and trained eyes, the GM engineers believed they saw problems. "They had a real hard time getting those doors to fit," Tim Herrick, the executive chief engineer for GM truck programs, told Reuters. His team did more intelligence gathering. They bought and tore apart Ford F-Series doors sold as repair parts. Their conclusion: GM could cut weight in its trucks for a lower cost using doors made of a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel that could be thinner than standard steel, shaving off kilograms in the process. These pounds-and-pennies decisions will have major implications in the highest-stakes game going in Detroit: dominance in the world's most profitable vehicle market, the gasoline-fueled large pickup segment. What's more, GM is banking on strong sales of overhauled 2019 Silverados and GMC Sierras to fund its push into automated and electric vehicles — a business many investors see as the auto industry's long-term future. The risks are high given the hits automakers have taken from U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies. Rising aluminum prices spurred by Trump's tariffs are driving up costs on the Ford's F-Series, while rising steel and aluminum prices likewise drag on GM results. GM also has a significant risk should the United States, Mexico and Canada fail to agree on a new NAFTA trade deal, given GM trucks built at its Silao, Mexico, factory could face a 25 percent tariff if NAFTA collapses. Major profit per truck Interviews with GM executives and a tour at its factory here in northwest Indiana provide a detailed look inside GM's plan for the most important vehicles in its global lineup. These big pickups are everything Tesla's Model 3 or Chevy's Bolt electric car is not. The mostly steel body is bolted to the truck's steel frame, rather than the one-piece body and frame electric vehicles. The majority of trucks will have a V-8 gasoline engine powering the rear wheels — like the classic GM cars of the 1950s. Some Silverados will have new four-cylinder engines, but there is no electric or hybrid offering as of now.
2016 Chevrolet Volt First Drive
Fri, Oct 2 2015There's a hit vehicle hiding in GM's formula for the Chevy Volt. You can sense it in the enthusiasm that current Volt drivers have for their cars. You can see it in the amount of money GM has poured into its extended-range electric vehicle project. And perhaps most importantly, you can feel it from the driver's seat of the new, second-gen model. The big question is whether or not GM will be able to turn its much-hyped 'halo car' into a best-seller this time around. After driving it in northern California, I can tell you that the Volt is tremendous. But we all know it takes more than that to create a hit. GM has so far sold over 82,000 Volts in the US. That's respectable, but in the early, glory days before the car launched, company representatives were talking about much more impressive numbers. With a few years to talk to customers and potential prospects, GM has learned a lot about what makes someone buy a Volt. For the 2016 model, Chevy has changed just about everything for the better. The new Volt has more all-electric range (53 miles vs. 38 in the first generation), is more fuel efficient whether you're looking at the overall value (106 combined MPGe vs. 98) or just when the car burns gas (42 miles per gallon vs. 37). All of that means that the car's overall range is bumped up to 420 miles, from 380. The battery is smaller and lighter while offering more energy capacity. The range-extending gas engine is bigger (1.5 liters vs. 1.4) but it's also more efficient and can burn regular gasoline instead of just premium. The Volt's overall range is bumped up to 420 miles, from 380. The cost is lower, too: $33,995 vs. $34,170, before incentives. This is a car that GM thinks will compete against the Toyota Priuses and Nissan Leafs of the world (as its new ads make abundantly clear). All three cars have completely different powertrains, but we all know that they're the headline green cars of our time (along with Tesla), so buyers will have to want to pony up a bit more money if they like what the Volt is offering. The 2016 Leaf with its 107-mile range starts at $37,640 (before incentives), while a 2015 Prius can be had for $25,035 (pricing for the 2016 has not yet been announced). So, on paper, the new Volt is an all-around winner. I'm here to tell you that it wins on the road, too. You can't help but notice the changes. They are literally front and center.
Weekly Recap: Ford guns for 2016 Le Mans glory with new GT
Sat, Jun 13 2015On the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford confirmed it will return to the French endurance race in 2016 and campaign the new GT racecar 50 years after three GT40s swept the podium at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The factory will back a two-team, four-car effort that will compete in the World Endurance Championship and the Tudor United SportsCar Championship running cars operated by Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. The GT racecar will make its track debut in January at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and the driver lineup will be announced later. "But rest assured, there's quite a line forming out the door," Ganassi said at the announcement. The GT is the modern successor to the iconic GT40, which won Le Mans four straight years from 1966-1969. The racecar is a rolling testbed of Ford's latest technologies, including a powerful twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. The car also makes extensive use of carbon-fiber pieces and advanced aerodynamics. Ford tapped Multimatic Motorsports of Canada and Roush Yates Engines to aid in the development of the GT racer. The road-going version, which was revealed in January at the Detroit Auto Show, is also set to launch next year. It caps Ford's growing performance lineup, and the company has ambitious plans to launch more than 12 new sporty models by 2020, including hot metal like the Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, and Shelby GT350R. The GT embodies Ford's best tech, but news of its return to Le Mans immediately conjured images of the company's fierce rivalry in the 1960s with Ferrari and intense competition with Porsche. "When the GT40 competed at Le Mans in the 1960s, Henry Ford II sought to prove Ford could beat endurance racing's most legendary manufacturers," Ford executive chairman Bill Ford said in a statement. "We are still extremely proud of having won this iconic race four times in a row, and that same spirit that drove the innovation behind the first Ford GT still drives us today." Ford is going back to Le Mans. Somewhere, Hank the Deuce must be smiling.
