SELLER REMARKS |
![]() |
We probably sell more of these Chevy pickups than anyone else, but the truth is, they pretty much sell themselves. They offer great looks, lots of performance, and plenty of practicality, making them great hobby vehicles that are easy to love. This 1968 Chevrolet C10, for example, is done just right, with bright paint, a smooth-running small block, and a handsome, comfortable interior that's a great place to spend your free time.
The short bed/regular cab setup gives this C10, sitting on its lowered suspension, a bit of a muscle car look. The styling is a flat-out home run, deceptively simple but timeless and rugged. Not a lot of extraneous trim was required, because the guys who stamped out the sheetmetal already got it exactly right. Painting it bright red certainly helps, drawing your attention to the flared fenders and distinctive character lines that run from nose to tail. No, this is just a simple, honest hauler that's ready to go to next week's cruise-in. A few chrome bits remain, including the stainless trim outlining the tailgate, and the bumpers have a satin silver finish that's actually quite attractive. There's also a spray-in bedliner to protect the cargo bay, meaning that this truck still works as a truck.
The interior keeps things pretty stock, but the attractive two-tone upholstery with cloth seating surfaces is a far more comfortable way to travel than the original sticky vinyl. There's also an aftermarket steering wheel that looks vaguely OEM but offers a thick leather-wrapped rim. Original gauges still look good with only moderate signs of age and the entire dash was refinished when the truck was repainted not too long ago. Black carpets on the floors are protected by heavy-duty Chevrolet floor mats and the matching black door panels are nicely fitted. This is not a high-option truck, but the lack of a radio only means that nobody has hacked things up behind the dash and that it's ready for your own choice. Tinted windows help control solar gain, which is especially important down south, which is where this truck spent most of its life.
The engine is a 307 cubic inch Chevy V8 that provides plenty of muscle to move the relatively lightweight pickup. It sure looks right with Chevy Orange paint and a minimum of aftermarket parts, which seem to be limited to the chrome air cleaner. It's very tidy under the hood, suggesting recent work and good attention to detail, as many of the components show correct colors and finishes. It starts easily and idles with a decent rumble from the twin Flowmaster mufflers out back, and it'll zoom around town with enough punch to put a grin on your face. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic feeding a 12-bolt rear end, which hangs on those long control arms and nice-riding coil springs. The lowered stance looks fantastic, especially with those shiny Rally wheels and fat 255/70/15 front and 275/70/15 rear BFG radials.
This is a nice truck, ideal for having fun on sunny days and making your trip to Home Depot a lot more enjoyable. We sell a lot of these, but there's no secret to why: they're just great trucks. Call today!

General Motors hadn't had a recall in India since 1995. That changed when it was discovered that certain employees were playing tricks with local emissions testing in order to ensure passing grades for engines. More than ten GM Powertrain employees in India and the US have been let go over the ensuing emissions flap, including Sam Winegarden, VP of global engine engineering, a man who has been with the company since 1969, leading development of some marquee powerplants.
According to Automotive News, an internal investigation revealed that employees "violated testing procedures," sometimes swapping specially prepared low-emissions engines during testing regimes for the Chevrolet Tavera SUV equipped with the 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter engines. Employees were also manipulating weights in order to get vehicles placed into different emissions categories. The discovery has led to GM recall the 114,000 Taveras produced over an eight-year period and halting their production and sale.
The Economic Times of India reports that the issue is due to "a faulty component." GM has developed a solution to the issue, and once it is validated in testing and approved by the Indian authorities, the recalled vehicles will be fixed at dealers and production will resume.

The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.

Mark Twain never actually said that reports of his death had been greatly exaggerated. But if the Cadillac CT6 could talk, those are the exact words it would use. Speaking to Jalopnik, Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen confirmed, emphatically, "There is absolutely no plan, at all, to cancel the CT6." In fact, says de Nysschen, the CT6 will soon be the beneficiary of significant investment. "The [CT6] forms a very important part of our product strategy going forward for the brand. The car also has a very major contribution to make to the shaping of brand perceptions, and the transformational process that Cadillac is undergoing." For instance, expect the CT6 to spearhead General Motors' most advanced forays into self-driving automobile technology. Interestingly, though, the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans probably won't live past their current generations as the automaker 're-balances its sedan portfolio.' Replacement models are "in development" right now, says de Nysschen, which will "much more clearly separate the market position, both in terms of target customer demographics, in terms of market segments and in terms of price points between these three sedan lineups." So, that's confirmation that the Cadillac CT6 is going to stick around for a while. But what of other models cited by Reuters to potentially be killed, like the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala and Volt? Read our take on that here, but suffice it to say that we don't think they're in danger, either.
