FULLY RESTORED 1963 CHEVROLET C-10

IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING COMPLEMENTED AND GIVEN THE THUMBS UP ALL THE TIME THEN THIS IS NOT THE TRUCK FOR YOU!

Let's start off with the heart and soul of this bad a** truck - it has a 7.4L 454 cubic inch engine with headers and dual exhaust. I would estimate the horsepower to be in the 450 range. It is loud as can be and rumbles like a beast. The engine starts up on first try as it should. I wouldn't be hesitant to drive the truck on a 500+ mile road trip.

It is matched to a 3 speed auto transmission with a B & M shifter. The gears shift smoothly as they should without any issues. It has freeway gears so you can cruise on the freeway without wasting a ton of gas at high RPM'S.

I recently upgraded the radiator to an aluminum one with new thermostat and built in transmission cooler. The truck runs around 180-190 degrees which is exactly where it should be.

The paint is in good driver condition and looks really good but it is NOT show quality if it was I'd be asking for over 35k for this truck (which I'm no where near). RUST FREE!

The bed has been professionally rhino lined which looks really good - throw anything in there without worries of destroying the bed. The rear tailgate has been welded and shaved flush to make it 1 piece (see pictures). I think it looks great this way. It gives it a clean flush design. The tailgate does not open any longer (but it is an easy conversion if you wanted to do so). There are some small paint cracks in this area (see pictures).

There is power steering and power disc front brakes.

I just installed a brand new front disc kit by McGaughy with a new master booster w/ proportioning valve. There is less then 250 Miles on these brakes. The truck stops perfectly.

The truck is lowered on Hotchkis suspension (4" in the front and 6" in the rear). This is also brand new with less then 250 miles on the suspension. It rides smooth without any rubbing or bumping. It makes the truck look and ride amazing.

All the window and glass seals along with the weatherstripping have been replaced everywhere. So there is no cracking anywhere on the trim giving it a clean new look.

The front wraparound windshield is new as well. These 1963's are rare because of that wraparound design. It also has the rare BIG WINDOW for back which is also rare - most of these were the small windows that in my opinion don't look that great.

There is a new grey carpet kit and newly upholstered vinyl black front bench seat and matching sun visors.

The gauges are autometer and they all are working/functioning properly.

It has brand new rims and tires all around which look amazing on this truck. 20" Chrome Foose rims (20x10 in the rear and 20x8.5 in the front). The tires are Hankook (275/35/20 rear and 245/40/20 front).

All the door hinges, locks, strikers, window regulators, and hardware have been replaced as well.

Basically this truck needs absolutely nothing to be done or fixed.

If you want an investment truck to drive and have fun with and not worry about it breaking down or putting money into it then this the the right truck for you. All the work has been done for you already. Just hop in turn the key and enjoy!

I will miss this truck but I just got started on a new project which requires funds.

Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any questions. Please leave me a voice mail if I do not answer. 818-356-6788.

Clean car title in hand.

2021 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevy Suburban/Tahoe recalled for stall risk

Mon, Oct 4 2021

General Motors is recalling just shy of 15,000 2021 Cadillac Escalade & Escalade ESVs, Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoes, GMC Yukons and Yukon XLs that were shipped with fuel pumps that were built with a batch of what may be faulty electronic control modules. A pump with a bad module can result in intermittent function, resulting in drivability issues and potential stalls. No serious incidents or injuries have been associated with the issue.  GM says it discovered the issue after analyzing early recall data for the 2021 model SUVs and discovering an unusually high failure rate for fuel pumps manufactured by a single supplier – Vitesco. The company was able to identify the batch and initiate a recall campaign targeting just those vehicles.  "After reviewing the field data, GM determined there were 617 potentially relevant complaints, which were received between April 15, 2020 and August 24, 2021," the company's recall report said. "229 of these complaints reported a stall while standing or moving. No accidents or injuries associated with this condition were found." Any SUVs built with pumps from that batch but not yet sold are being held at dealers for replacement parts. It may take some time for GM to source replacements due to the ongoing electronic parts shortages.  "We are working with the supplier to obtain the required parts as quickly as possible," GM said in its notice to dealers. "When sufficient quantity of parts are available, the recall bulletin will be released and dealers can begin repairing vehicles."

2016 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel First Drive [w/video]

Tue, Oct 6 2015

The first thing you notice inside the diesel Chevy Colorado is that it's quiet. Almost too quiet. A lot has been done to quell noise and vibration with this new powertrain, and it shows – or rather, doesn't. There's some characteristic diesel clatter at idle, but even then it's distant and practically disappears as you start moving down the road. At full throttle, when the engine is at its noisiest, the sound isn't particularly diesel-like, just a pleasant intake breath. The accompanying smoothness is almost eerie. When we ask where all the noise went, Chevy's engineers, marketing guys, and PR reps all explain that this refinement is what Americans want. We're still not sure. This is a truck, after all, and the diesel pickup customer is different from the guy buying a diesel Cruze for his highway commute. Chevy contends that they're also not the same as the buyer of a Silverado HD. Although this 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder has been in service elsewhere around the globe, its first US application is in the Colorado and its GMC Canyon twin. The engine puts out 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and it does so unobtrusively as a result of a lot of modifications for our market. To keep normal diesel sensations out of the cabin, the intake and oil pan both get acoustic treatments. A new, thicker material is used for firewall sound deadening. Redesigned balance shafts have tighter tolerances to increase smoothness. The diesel powertrain is smoother than the Colorado's gasoline V6. One of the more interesting and certainly unexpected vibration-reduction changes is a special torque converter from German supplier LuK equipped with a centrifugal pendulum absorber. This pendulum spreads from the center of the torque converter as engine speed increases and is tuned to absorb the four-cylinder's second-order vibrations, not just those in a narrow frequency band. It does an admirable job, especially considering the engine's biggish, 0.7-liter cylinders, which lead to bigger vibrations. The result is a powertrain that's smoother than GM's (not particularly smooth) corporate V6, which is available in the standard Colorado. It's quieter than a Cruze diesel and even out-softens some gas direct-injection engines on the market. Paradoxically, it may be the most refined of all of the Colorados. No vibration comes through the steering wheel, pedals, floorboards, or even the rearview mirror. But you can tell it's a diesel when you hit the throttle.

GM says safety is a reason it's dropping Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

Tue, Dec 12 2023

Update: GM sent us a statement as a follow-up to its original comments seen in this post: "We wanted to reach out to clarify that comments about GM's position on phone projection were misrepresented in previous articles and to reinforce our valued partnerships with Apple and Google and each company’s commitment to driver safety. GM's embedded infotainment strategy is driven by the benefits of having a system that allows for greater integration with the larger GM ecosystem and vehicles." The original story can be read in its entirety below.   General Motors announced its intention to remove Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality from its upcoming EVs earlier this year, and internet comments sections haven't been kind since. As the first of many EVs to follow – the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV – hits the market, GM is expanding on its initial explanations for dropping the tech. Motor Trend spoke with Tim Babbit, GMÂ’s head of product for infotainment, to learn more. Attributed to Babbit, from the story: “They have stability issues that manifest themselves as bad connections, poor rendering, slow responses, and dropped connections. And when CarPlay and Android Auto have issues, drivers pick up their phones again, taking their eyes off the road and totally defeating the purpose of these phone-mirroring programs. Solving those issues can sometimes be beyond the control of the automaker.” Babbit suggests that a world without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will be a safer one, as folks wonÂ’t be looking to control their infotainment systems via their phones. However, Babbit also tells MT that this theory hasnÂ’t been tested in either the lab or the real world yet. Instead of using a navigation or music-playing app powered through your phone, upcoming GM EVs will use a Google-based infotainment system called “Ultifi” that runs a ton of integrated Google apps. Google Maps will be the native navigation app in the system; youÂ’ll be able to log in to Spotify or other apps to load your music up, and so on. The idea here is that youÂ’ll have all the same apps that were on your phone available but integrated within the infotainment system instead, and you'll be able to use voice controls to control every last bit of it with no need to reach for a phone. That sounds amenable in theory, but how consumers react to the removal of a feature that they know and love now is a risky gamble.
