Up for sale is most likely the nicest original 1973 Chevrolet truck in existence today. This truck is a one owner vehicle with just under 21k original miles. This truck was purchased new at Lew Williams Chevrolet Center on Folsom in Sacramento, CA by Richard and Opal Peterson of Nevada City, CA. This truck has spent it's entire life in the dry California climate and has always been registered to one owner at one address. Many of the original documents from purchase in 1973 are pictured and included with the sale: original title, temporary registration, original registration card, financing paperwork/contract, owners manual, sales brochure, accessories brochure, and others as seen in pictures. This truck is in amazing original condition and is 100% original, down to the original factory installed tires and power beam headlights. The paint and body are in excellent condition with no blending, bodywork, metalwork, or replacement ever being done. The interior is in perfect original condition with the factory seat belts being wrapped in factory installed plastic and only recently being pulled out from behind the front seat where they have sat unused for all of these years. As you can see on the parts identification card on the inner fender that this truck is factory equipped with a 350 V8 engine, 4 speed compound low transmission, air conditioning, custom moldings, and set up for the camper shell from new. The camper shell and Barden rear bumper were produces and installed locally and have been on the truck since new. The condition of the bed is immaculate and appears to have never been used and if so, only slightly. The engine and drivetrain all work as they should on this truck. Recent work includes rebuilt original carb, fuel hoses replaced, and rear wheel cylinders rebuilt. All electrical works as it should as well. This truck runs and drives well for a museum piece, but if you were planning on using this as a daily driver I would suggest going over the usual wear items and fluids before making an attempt at using it daily. The last registration card in the truck was from 1989 and then it was registered non op with the DMV, so there is no back registration on it due for the new owner. The truck went out of daily use status before this time frame and was only recently uncovered and brought back out into the public spotlight. This truck has been kept in an insulated barn since new, and it shows. Both original license plates and dealer frames are included and in mint original condition. I also have a few pictures of the truck as it sat in the garage that I will include for the new owner. This is a true time capsule vehicle that deserves to be in a great collection of low mileage vehicles and be brought out occasionally for others to view and enjoy. Overall this is the nicest original Chevrolet truck of this year that I have ever seen and is probably the nicest and most original low mileage Chevrolet truck from this year anywhere in the world. Trucks like this just don't come around but once in a lifetime and you will be hard pressed to find another like it.

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...

I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?

Specialization keeps the automotive world interesting because it creates all sorts of fun niches. For example, if you like hot rods, you can dive deep into the world of rat rods or just focus on cars with a more traditional look. In some cases the myriad styles don't mix very well, of course, and the folks at Roadkill are proving that on video by attempting to take a lowrider Chevrolet Monte Carlo from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on dirt. As you might expect, forcing a lowrider off-road doesn't go well, but the stunt makes for a great chronicle of dumb, automotive fun. Other than some repairs to get the Monte Carlo roadworthy, the only modification here is a set of knobby tires to achieve at least a modicum of traction on the loose rocks. Although, no matter what they do, at the even lowest speeds the hosts inside are still bounced around like they're in an inflatable castle at a kid's birthday party. Still, the guys are clearly amused by it all.
