Vehicle is being re-listed as last time the end bid figure got really close to my reserve but as they say "Close but no cigar", So here goes again............

1972 Chevrolet C10 Shortbed, 396 Big Block out of 1968 Chevelle, .030 over, 350 h.p. camshaft,  9 to 1 compression ratio, completely rebuilt including complete head job, valves, guides, springs, etc., 4 barrel carb,  Cold a/c, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Very nicely detailed engine compartment (see pics), Extras include polished aluminum intake, HEI style ignition w/ Accel super coil, and a lot of aftermarket chrome and aluminum goodies including chrome alternator, brackets, etc;  350 turbo automatic transmission, Truck has been professional built including Paint/ Body/ Drivetrain/ Suspension/ Etc.  Lowered down the right way using drop spindles in front  and new springs in rear, All new front suspension including new bushings, idler, pitman, etc. - Truck runs and drives great - NOT all bouncy and choppy like a lot of the trucks out there.  Other features include rear slider, LED taillights, aluminum rail tonneau cover w/ lift supports, filled stake pocket holes, hidden hitch, and the list just goes on and on honestly.  Interior is tastefully done as well including new full gauge package including tachometer and everything works as it should all the way down to the dome light and the original AM radio - YES it works too!!

The only change I had plans on still doing to the truck was to fit up a set of custom whls but knew I was probably going to sell soon so I figured I would let the new owner fit up exactly they want.  Truck is currently setting on factory 15x8 inch rallies w/ new centers/ rings/ and new BFG radials.  Personally I really like the look that the truck gives off now just being a super clean truck through out with its crisp super clean lines.   Bumpers/ grill surround/ etc. are all new as well.  Body is super straight and Paint quality is extremely high on the truck as well - As I said earlier truck was professionally built and not an amature job by far.  In fact truck has won several awards including Best Truck, Best Paint, Best Heavy Chevy, and even a top 10 award at Goodguys event a few years back up in Iowa.

Truck has new Magnaflow dual exhaust ran all the way to back fitted up with new style Camaro stainless tips.  Truck has a nice deep tone to it - not a loud obnoxious redneck vehicle like a lot out there.  I apologize for the lack of pictures - Our area has been hit with several rounds of winter weather lately and I will not pull out in snow to take pics.   Truck has been completed for several years now, but not a lot of miles has been put on it as most of the time it just sets in the garage.  I would say that the truck has had under 10,000 miles put on it since completed.  Truck is kept under tarp in climate controlled garage and honestly I only had time to enjoy this truck 1 time this past summer thus the reason for selling and we are getting ready to build a new home so figured I would sell truck hopefully to someone that will have more time to enjoy it than I do.

Now for all the legal stuff - Truck is being sold as/ is w/ no guaranties or implied warranties.  I used to be a classic car dealer years ago and I know a nice - well built vehicle when I see one and this is definitely one.  Also I know about all the scams out there so lets not even go there please.  Also get your wifes permission before bidding if need be.  This is a real auction and not for you just to come and look.  If you win the auction then you will be expected to go thru w/ transaction.  No surprises on my end, so I will expect the same out of you.  Look at my feedback and bid w/ confidence.  I have been a good ebayer for years and I used to sell a lot of vehicles thru the Ebay system and take pride in my 100% feedback and plan on keeping it that way.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping expenses related to this transaction.  Also I have sold a lot of vehicles overseas, so if you need help w/ shipping arrangements I still have a lot of connections so I can probably help you with that as well.  Thanks for your time and if you have any questions feel free to call me at 573-220-5566 or email me thru the Ebay system.   A $5000.00 deposit will be expected within 3 days of auctions end with the remaining balance to be paid within 7 days of auctions end.  Cash, bank wire, or certified bank check will be the only forms of payment that will be accepted.  Vehicle will not be released until complete confirmation of funds have cleared.  I do reserve the right to end this auction at any time as I do have the vehicle for sale locally as well as here on Ebay.  Thanks....... Eric

GM recalls trucks and SUVs for brake pedal problem

Thu, Feb 11 2016

The Basics: General Motors will recall over 473,000 North American examples of the 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and police pursuit versions of the Chevy Tahoe. These include 426,573 vehicles in the US and 46,837 in Canada, according to Reuters. The Problem: The brake pivot nut can loosen over time, which can render the pedal inoperative. This would be a danger to drivers trying to stop the vehicles. In some cases, the "Service Engine Soon" light might come on. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt, and if necessary they will apply adhesive to it and reinstall the part with increased torque. If You Own One: "We expect to start customer notifications shortly," GM spokesperson Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog. If the brake pedal becomes loose or inoperative, it could interfere with the accelerator pedal, and/or the driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle through application of the brake pedal, potentially affecting stopping distances and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the pivot bolt installation to determine whether the vehicle has already received the production remedy. If not, the dealer will add adhesive to the nut, and reinstall the nut at an increased torque. Note: This condition may result in the "Service Engine Soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected. Is the skill of rev matching being lost to computers?

Fri, Oct 9 2015

If the ability to drive a vehicle equipped with a manual gearbox is becoming a lost art, then the skill of being able to match revs on downshifts is the stuff they would teach at the automotive equivalent of the Shaolin Temple. The usefulness of rev matching in street driving is limited most of the time – aside from sounding cool and impressing your friends. But out on a race track or the occasional fast, windy road, its benefits are abundantly clear. While in motion, the engine speed and wheel speed of a vehicle with a manual transmission are kept in sync when the clutch is engaged (i.e. when the clutch pedal is not being pressed down). However, when changing gear, that mechanical link is severed briefly, and the synchronization between the motor and wheels is broken. When upshifting during acceleration, this isn't much of an issue, as there's typically not a huge disparity between engine speed and wheel speed as a car accelerates. Rev-matching downshifts is the stuff they would teach at the automotive equivalent of the Shaolin Temple. But when slowing down and downshifting – as you might do when approaching a corner at a high rate of speed – that gap of time caused by the disengagement of the clutch from the engine causes the revs to drop. Without bringing up the revs somehow to help the engine speed match the wheel speed in the gear you're about to use, you'll typically get a sudden jolt when re-engaging the clutch as physics brings everything back into sync. That jolt can be a big problem when you're moving along swiftly, causing instability or even a loss of traction, particularly in rear-wheel-drive cars. So the point of rev matching is to blip the throttle simultaneously as you downshift gears in order to bring the engine speed to a closer match with the wheel speed before you re-engage the clutch in that lower gear, in turn providing a much smoother downshift. When braking is thrown in, you get heel-toe downshifting, which involves some dexterity to use all three pedals at the same time with just two feet – clutch in, slow the car while revving, clutch out. However, even if you're aware of heel-toe technique and the basic elements of how to perform a rev match, perfecting it to the point of making it useful can be difficult.

Chevy recalls 73k Cobalts for side airbag non-deployment

Mon, Aug 24 2015

Chevrolet is recalling 73,424 examples of the 2010 Cobalt in the US and Canada because the driver's side curtain airbag might not deploy in a crash. These vehicles carry build dates between January 4 and June 23, 2010, and, specifically, 59,474 of them are in the US. "GM is aware of one crash with one injury that may be related to this condition," the company said in a statement. The problem occurs because of improper routing of the side-impact sensor wiring harness in the driver's door, and there can be a short circuit causing the curtain airbag not to deploy. The campaign to fix the issue will begin on August 26. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and will repair the issue on any affected examples. Related Video: GM Statement: General Motors is recalling 59,474 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt sedans in the U.S. because some of them may have been built with improper side impact sensor wire routing in the left front door. Dealers will inspect all suspect vehicles and any found with the condition will be repaired free of charge to the customer. GM is aware of one crash with one injury that may be related to this condition. Including vehicles sold in Canada, the total recall population is 73,424. RECALL Subject : Improperly Routed Side Impact Wire Harness Report Receipt Date: AUG 10, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V500000 Component(s): AIR BAGS Potential Number of Units Affected: 59,474 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) CHEVROLET COBALT 2010 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles manufactured January 4, 2010, to June 23, 2010. The affected vehicles may be equipped with an improperly routed Side-Impact Sensor (SIS) wiring harness in the driver side front door. The misrouted wiring harness could cause an electrical short that disables the driver side curtain air bag. CONSEQUENCE: A disabled driver side roof-rail air bag will not deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of that air bag, increasing the risk of injury to the driver. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the sensor's wiring in the driver's door and make repairs as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 26, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 15075.
