For sale is my 1967 Chevrolet C10 Pickup.  It is a true survivor and runs great.  Turns heads everywhere I go, but it is a daily driver and not a show truck.  The truck is garaged and I usually only drive it when the weather is nice.    The 6 cylinder engine runs strong, it uses a little oil but that is expected out of an untouched 47 year old truck. The transmission is a 3 speed on the column and shifts as smoothly as it did new.  Clutch works great.  I have replaced a lot of gaskets to stop oil leakage.  The battery, distributor, plugs wires and points have all been replaced in the last year.  The Carb was also replaced and the truck is running great.   It has a manual choke to help get the truck started, and it always starts easily.  I encourage you to make the trip and look at the truck before you purchase.
Just to be clear there are a couple of items in which need attention.  1) The radio, an original am, does not work.  It has power to the radio and the speaker is connected but I get nothing out of it.   2)The Windshield washer pump is pumping but no fluid comes out. I replaced the hose but I suspect that the pump may need to be replaced or rebuilt if that can be done.  Windshield wipers work fine. 3)The wood bed in the box is original and in pretty good shape.  However there is a small area which has rotted up in the front right corner of the box.  I cover with a small piece of plywood and have no issues , it is an area about the size of a shoebox.  4) the bed cover needs some attention or maybe even replace it.  Some of the stitching is coming apart and a few of the snaps have broken over time.  It is usable but if I were to keep the truck it would be the next item I replace.  5) The truck was painted at some point in time.  It was never clear coated but look great when it is clean.  There are a few minor scratches and stone chips.

This is a great truck for someone looking for a project, or a solid daily driver that gets looks all the time.  Again I encourage anyone who is interested in this truck to take a look at it before you bid.  I am not pressed to sell it, I'm just thinking about a different toy.

I cannot assist in shipping, winning bidder will need to make all arrangements.  Zip code is 17331.    I expect payment in full within 7 days of auction end.  Cash or cashiers check only.  I have a clean title in hand.

Chevy Silverado WT gets its own murdered-out trim pack

Fri, Feb 20 2015

Media days for the 2015 Chicago Auto Show ended last week, but that hasn't stopped Chevrolet from adding just one more thing. The Bowtie brand showed off three new trim packages for its trucks in the Windy City – the Colorado GearOn and the Silverado Midnight and Custom – but protests from consumers over the price of these equipment packs has led the company to release a new trim group for its most affordable fullsizer, the Silverado WT. The $1,595 Black Out pack will be available on both the regular- and double-cab Silverado WT and offers a few simple, stylistic upgrades. Five-spoke, 20-inch black wheels are the headlining item, although Chevy will also include "deep tinted glass" and black bowtie badges both fore and aft. Available only in black (the company even paraphrases old Mr. Ford in its press release), the new package adds just enough to class up the otherwise dreary looking Work Truck. Chevy has only released one image for the time being, available up top. Dealers, meanwhile, are currently taking orders. Check below for the brief press release. Chevrolet Silverado Work Trucks Get Blacked Out DETROIT – Chevrolet is adding a $1,595 Black Out package for regular- and double-cab 2015 Silverado 1500 WT models. It includes 20" black painted aluminum wheels, P275/55R20 all-season blackwall tires, deep tinted glass and black bowties. Prices start at $28,895. The package is available for order now, and customers can have any color they want, as long as it is black. Editors' Note: Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price excludes tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. Includes dealer freight charges and option package discounts. Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world's largest car brands, doing business in more than 140 countries and selling more than 4.8 million cars and trucks a year. Chevrolet provides customers with fuel-efficient vehicles that feature engaging performance, design that makes the heart beat, passive & active safety features and easy-to-use technology, all at a value. Seventies super-salesman challenges new car-sales record

Wed, Feb 21 2018

Some of the fondest memories from my youth were the Sunday afternoons spent walking between rows of new and used cars. This preceded the advent of widely available internet, so the cars didn't sell themselves online: A tentative buyer had to come see the cars in the metal, with old-school salesmen taking well-earned smoke breaks after putting someone behind the wheel of a new Saab 900. All-inclusive subscription services were unheard of. If you open a Guinness records book and look up car salesmen, you'll find Joe Girard. The definitely old-school Detroit salesman regularly sold over 1,000 new cars per year, with a particular high point of 1,425 cars in 1973 guaranteeing him a mention in the Guinness book. To reach that kind of sales figure, you had to be a pretty special salesman, and Girard was. He didn't take breaks unless absolutely necessary, and even his lunch hours were dedicated to selling more cars instead of shooting the breeze with other sales persons. By 1977 he was worn through, having sold over 13,000 cars in his career, and his physique couldn't take it anymore. He's been a motivational speaker since. Now, 44 years later, a Dearborn, Mich., Cadillac and Chevrolet salesman named Ali Reda has reportedly broken Girard's record. The books at Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac say Reda sold 1,530 new cars and 52 used cars in 2017, averaging 130 vehicles per month. But after Girard, 89, heard of the sales record, he called his attorney, not letting his record be broken without a fight — or at least an audit. The Dearborn dealer isn't too concerned about Girard's doubts, at least according to Gary Stanford, whose father founded the dealership. "It's very official, trust me," said Stanford to the Detroit Free Press. "Ali is the hardest worker I've ever seen. And if someone doesn't believe the data, well, they're more than welcome to consult with GM. It's all there in black and white." What Girard doesn't get is that Reda was honoring him with the accomplishment. "I read his book, 'How to Sell Anything to Anybody,' and it said it would teach you how to become the best," said Reda, who at age 44 was a newborn when Girard hit his peak. "He's an absolute legend in the industry. Your whole career, you're chasing his name.
