Up for sale is a classic 1966 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck. The truck is primarily used for car shows and casual cruising. Purchased from previous owner who had it for 14 years. This truck is a very nice example of a driver quality vehicle. The truck has SEVERAL new parts and countless hours of work put into it. It is not perfect, and therefore is priced accordingly. Please read the entire description because I like to be as detailed as possible. Engine: SBC 350cu V8 built and professionally installed by Walker Custom Performance in Hiram, GA. Engine has performance roller rockers, aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock 4 barrel carbuerator, Hooker Long Tube headers, custom H-pipe, and dual Flowmaster mufflers. At same time, Walker also installed a Turbo 400 transmission with B&M shift kit. Engine has been dressed up with new chrome valve covers, and a new chrome air cleaner. Engine has been converted to a serpentine belt set up with alternator. I was told this came from an 87 Chevrolet Truck motor. This truck has also had front disc power brakes added as well as power steering from the same 87 donor truck. Exhaust: Hooker Headers with True dual Flowmaster mufflers Wheels: 15" MB Motoring Wheels (they resemble Weld drag lites with larger holes) - These look just great on this truck. Wheels are new with no curb rash. Tires: Falken Sincera SN828 P225/70R15 Interior: Has brand new professionally installed custom upholstery black vinyl on seat and door panels. Also has new carpet, new floor mats, new door weatherstripping, new chrome sill plates, new glove box insert, new kick panel trim plates, new inner door handles, new window cranks, new Billet Steering wheel, and a new dome light. Has aftermarket oil pressure and water temperature gauges installed. The factory speedometer and fuel gauge are working. Exterior: Has brand new front chrome bumper and like new rear bumper. all new bumper brackets front and rear. New chrome grille, new chrome headlight bezels, new chrome headlight trim rings, all new headlight adjusters and hardware. New chrome front turn signal bezels. . Bed wood is brand new and has been refinished and reinstalled using all new bed strips and hardware. Bed has had recently applied bed liner coating. Paint: Tri-coat Pearl White paint. Good driver quality paint job. Not perfect, not show truck paint. There are a few spots on the paint that are not perfect. Some areas have been touched up. Some spots of rust beginning to show underneath the paint. I've looked over the body of the truck pretty throughly. The truck has some rust in it. (In my opinion if any tells you a 1966 truck that has not been frame off restored doesn't have rust I would be concerned). None of the rust is of major concern to me. The floor has been previously patched and is very solid. Rockers and wheel wells have had work on them as well. Some of the work is nice, some of it looks amatuer, but as an overall piece this truck is still a very nice, very straight head turning truck. I went to the Sherwin Williams auto paint store and has some touch up paint mixed for the truck. Buyer is welcome to have it. The outside of the truck was painted in 2010. Inside of cab was painted a dark gray last year. The outside of truck has also received new outer door handles, new cowl/hood seal, new C-10 emblems, new antenna, new tailgate chain protectors, new outside mirrors, and a new fuel neck grommet. Radio: New Kenwood KDC-108 AM/FM/CD player with new Kenwood 6.5" speakers in doors Misc: Truck has a 12 bolt rear end with a new chrome diff cover. The suspension has been lowered with a new CPP lowering kit. Lowered 3 inches in front and 5 inches in rear with new coil springs and shocks. Note: Truck has a GMC tailgate on it (indifferent to me, fits like it should. Was on it when I bought it). Also, because of the front disc brake conversion the front wheels are 5 lug and rear wheels are 6 lug. I've priced this truck based on whats been done to it, it's condition, and the overall market for these. This is a really nice truck. It has a few minor issues that have been disclosed. PLEASE ask any and all questions you might have about the truck. Please do not bid on the truck if you do not intend to buy it. The truck is currently registered in the state of GA and I have a clear GA title in my name. Thanks for looking! |

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]
Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
2020 Chevy Trax spied sporting design cues from the new Blazer
Wed, Oct 3 2018We saw spy shots in August for what we thought was either a redesigned Chevrolet Trax or new GMC subcompact crossover. At the time we were leaning Chevy. But after this latest batch of spy shots taken near GM's proving grounds, we're now thinking this one is the Trax replacement and the other one was a GMC. For one, the thin row of LEDs looks remarkably similar to the 2019 Chevy Blazer's LED strip. The additional light slightly below that is similar to the Blazer as well, leading us to believe that the next Trax will have a Blazer-esque front end. At first glance, this vehicle looks slightly larger than today's Trax with a much brawnier shape than the current blob-like design. The rear roof cladding could be hiding the same sloped rear window with spoiler hangover we see on the Blazer. Circling back to the other small GM crossover we caught testing, this one doesn't have those Blazer elements. The curved windshield and sloping roof are like those of the GMC Terrain, as are the horizontal grille bars. By contrast, the above car has a straighter windshield and a roof shaped more like the Blazer. One element that does seem to diverge from the new Blazer are the taillights, but they don't exactly look production-ready anyway. If we're right about this being the next Trax (and we're pretty sure we are) then this looks to be a more distinctive vehicle than what it will replace. The mirrors have left their awkward spot on the doors, and it's shaping up to be a much sportier looking crossover as a whole. This vehicle will most likely end up being a 2020 model year car, and if so, we would expect to see undisguised photos of both it and the assumed GMC version next year. Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks.
